It also has a pass-through that hides the connecting cords in the wall. It gives the wall mounted TV a much cleaner look.

It allows you to add power behind the TV so the cord won't be exposed as well as it allows the other cables to be fished behind the wall.

It's very necessary especially if you have a lot of electronics that you're trying to conceal. Very beneficial for cable management.

Also check to make sure you don't have horizontal studs in wall. That will lead to relocating the out let higher. Pretty easy to use, put in three of them for our bedrooms.

Sorry to hear the open-box unit was missing parts. Even with open-box items, everything needed for installation should still be included.
Since this was purchased through Best Buy, the quickest solution would be to exchange it at the store for another unit or return it for a refund. They should be able to take care of that right away.

Brilliant option for hiding wires

Any novice can cut the drywall with the template and DIY. The only negative to this is that the brace that holds the unit to the wall is just plastic so if it is over tightened, it can break. So as long as you don’t over tighten it, this is a slick and clean solution to hiding wires.

This is a must have to re-direct power for TV's theater are wall mounted but you dont want your cords to show. Completely worth the investment. I also had bestbuy install for me.
