If you have any kind of movie collection, you cannot not have this classic. 4k PICTURE,3D SOUND AMAZING....

The movie that lost Best Picture to Shakespeare in Love. *sigh*. Anyways, the landmark war film is finally out in HD and it stands as one of the best films ever and one of the best Blu Ray's ever (And DVD.... laserdisc if it was released for that format...) that rightfully earns a place on your shelf at all costs. I am not even going to go over the film because everyone knows about already with the iconic 20 minute opening scene, the use of color that has become synonymous with the film and widely praised as the best war film ever made. It has gone above and beyond the call of duty to deliver some of the best PQ of all time on a Blu Ray disc, replicating the gritty grain structure, muted color palate, and amazing detail to each and every frame displayed across your TV. The sound mix is equally stunning, making you believe the taking of Omaha Beach is happening 10 ft. away from you. The extras are plentiful, and are on the second disc to give plenty of room to the film itself on disc one. Included is a full length documentary about WWII itself and how it was captured on film throughout the course of the war, an intro by Spielberg, several making of featurettes and a series of trailers. Go out and buy this now, no matter how much or format. It belongs in your home.

I saw many reviews that had the disc transfer 10/10. When I put it in, the image was definitely a step up from the blu ray, but there was certainly heavy grain that I personally do not like. Its a classic movie, however, do not think that the picture is quite demo material

Honestly the movie speaks for itself. It’s a fantastic war portrayal of a team trying to find their friend.

Great movie and looks great in 4K. The extras are a great bonus too especially for my world history class!

This movie is great, has amazing FUNNY lines, fast action, really sets a nice pace. The sound is great, can't say enough good things about the sound, it has what you expect for the money you spend on a disk of this magnitude, the money they spent was well placed. You get high quality content. The CGI is so realistic you forget its CGI and just fall into the story and lose yourself in the emotion and staging of the drama and action.

Love this movie. Wanted the updated format to watch on and listen on the sound system and TV.

Solid movie made better with 4k and big screen tv. Highly recommended if you like the original!

The script and actors were outstanding. My system is set up for or 5.1 and it was riveting

The 4K version updated the Blu-Ray. It has a platoon of soldiers searching for the surviving son.

4K viewing - if it is a good burn - and with proper equipment, nearly duplicates the theater experience. This disc is a good burn. The only review needed for the movie per se is to note that Saving Private Ryan is the gold standard for war movies. Video and Audio - 5x5. VIDEO: Shot in darker tones appropriate to the the genre but with excellent Contrast and Sharpness. Dolby Vision. AUDIO: What one would expect and need in a war movie -- booming explosions and crackling gun shots. Excellent center channel that rnders Hanks soft, unique voice easily understandable. Highly recommend.

One of the best WWII movies period and the picture and audio are top notch on the 4K version.

The scenes from the invasion at Omaha Beach were so realistic. In 4K they were even better!

Saving Private Ryan for 4K UHD is a great movie, great visuals and sound with this edition.

I bought movie in 4K so that I can enjoy this movie like when I saw it in the movie theater.

If you're here buying this 4k version, it means you've already seen it! The Dolby Atmos alone is a reason to buy this... add HDR and 4k, why wouldn't you buy it! This looks and sounds amazing in this format... definitely a must have!

The best film about the trials of war. And yes this was snubbed the Best Picture award.
