A great album from the end of an era for Bowie.

The last album from the more artsy era for Bowie, this one is still great. He would go on to pretty much ditch the characters he had become known for in various stage personas. "Fashion" and "Ashes To Ashes" are still 2 of my favorites and I just love the sound these and other songs on this album have. If you are a fan of his, you should give this one a listen.

stylistic pivotal recording for Bowie's 80's sound

This Album was released in 1980 and was right before the super popular album Let's Dance. It features Robert Fripp on guitar from KIng Crimson fame and was the pivotal recording for Bowie that helped form a new direction in the post punk, new wave era of the early eighties. Still relevant to the familiar Bowie rock sound of the late 70's, this record presents a fresh pop sensability that would set fourth his newest redefining of his always changing and somewhat androgynous image. This album features charting hits such as fashion and ashes to ashes and was co-produced by the wonderful Tony Visconti (Iggy Pop, U2, Adam Ant, Morrissey) as well as collaborator Brian Eno. If you are only planning to own a few CD's from Bowie, this album will not dissapoint.
