I have been building and upgrading computers for about 12 years now and have actually lost track of exactly how many hard drives I have purchased for myself and / or relatives and friends (we are a 4 desktop, two laptop household!). I have never tried anything but Seagate hard drives. I only had one of those fail (it lasted a little over 3 years) not a bad track record if you ask me. I just hope most people realize you should always have a least a second hard drive installed (used only for backups) just in case disaster does strike. Why risk losing all your documents, pictures, music, etc.

The drives works great gives me a score of 7.9 in win7 rc 1 5057. For those who think that some space is missing, remember 1 k is metric=1024. In the USA we round it down to 1000. So if you add up all the additional 24's in 100000 kilo bytes you will find your terabyte.

Thank God Best Buy plans its printed flyer promotions in advance because the floods in Thailand didn't interfere with this great "closeout" deal. This drive has 7200 RPM so it is not in the slower "green" category but it has SATA II so it is not the latest SATA III. However a hard drive cannot read data from the spinning platter faster than the platter spins so SATA III is mostly useless ... especially when this drive is matched up with new Intel i5 2nd gen CPU with TurboBoost SSD caching built in and the latest in automatic perfornane and power management. Together this means that your drive will shut down when you are not using it (very green) and your read performance will be off the charts (SSD and most likely SATA III 6 GBs). Used this way, the hard drive cache is pointless and thus, so is a hard drive with SATA III. This is the hot tip for anyone building a new computer.

Great price for a internal drive. Easy to install.

Drive slid right in above old driive connected to system and was recognized first time booted. Included tools allowed for formating the new disk and partioning to take the exisiting data and partitions from the failing drive and move then to the new larger drive as the same size or increase the size. This worked great, made the transition easy, I swapped the cables on the drive to make the new drive primary and the system booted from it and it has worked perfectly ever since, that is about a month now.

This is the first set of Stereo Bluetooth headsets that I may keep having tried many brands and styles. The devices comes with a variety of earbud sizes including GeckoGrip that should fit most ear sizes. The sound quality is not the greatest, but is still on the upper end of good. Pairing was simple and allows for controlling the phone as well as music; in my case an iPhone. The music controls only provide for play/stop, next track or previous track, which should be adequate for most users. The on/off-answer/hangup control is on the face of right ear piece and requires so much pressure that it actually pushes the earbud further into the ear canal. There is no discomfort involved, but it is very noticeable and undesired. There are no controls on the left ear piece and it could have easily been located on the side of it. There is a sliding fit adjuster for the strap that connects the two-ear pieces that doesn't doesn't really serve much of a purpose given the length of the strap, which for my purposes is actually just right. The strap is also a little too firm. It doesn't hang as comfortably behind the neck as I would prefer, so I hang it from the front, but as mentioned it is a really short strap and doesn't get in the way.

I used my rewards points to purchase the hard drive and it was a great price and the hard drive runs great. wouldnt hesitate buy another seagate barracuda hd.

the geek squad installed it when my hardrive went bad and it works like a charm; my office professional works great on it and it is much faster than my original hard drive

Hard drive is easy to install and was up and running with a couple minutes of installing it into my computer. This is a 1 TB drive! It's replacing my 250 GB which was on the verge of failure. I will have tons of space on here for a looooong time.

I bought this hard drive to replace an older HD in my system! It was easy to install and has been working great so far! Also I got a great deal from Best Buy before the prices went up on hard drives because of the flooding in Asia.

This is a great hard drive. It is very quiet. I installed it a couple of weeks ago and do not have any complaints.

I couldn't see the drive once it was installed in PC and assumed it was bad. Best Buy exchanged it, no questions asked - thanks! But I lost lots of time because I didn't realize the disk needed to be INITIALZED (not formatted - that's different). I would not have had to return a perfectly good drive if Seagate's documentation booklet or PDF on CD had said the following: If you can't see your new drive, you may need to initialize the drive. Use the following steps: 1.Right-click on the Computer icon on the desktop or in the Start Menu. 2.Left-click on Manage. 3.Left-click on Disk Management. 4. If the description of the Disk is "Not Initialized" then you must right-click on the Disk icon and select Initialize.

Great good for games movies storage fast boot time

Great hard drive and an excellent value. Comes with everything you need to set up & install. I did not use the included software, but it lis nice to have just in case.

I bought this drive to replace a smaller SATA drive. Installation was a breeze. The only hard part was getting my big hands into the tiny computer space I had to work with. So far (about 2 months) everything is running perfectly.

Remove from box, install in enclosure, and power it up. Exactly what an internal hard drive should be, and for a reasonable price.

As with a new car or other products. You can have either a good or poorly made unit. Seagate might not be terrific but has to meet certain standards to market their product. I had been a Maxtor fan for years even when the Hard Drive crashed/ failed still bought Maxtor. It's personal preference same as one for purcahsing a new car. I do believe through course of time Western Digital is likely to be in the Top 3 if not number 1. But as with any use of a product a defect or flaw can occur Mechanically or Software wise. For the price, reasonable Reliability, company reputation on the line. SEAGATE is still a good product. Maybe Seagate can up their Warranty and will even RECOVER your Data if the Hard Drive fails at minimal fee or Free. You get what you pay for! Sometimes it pans out. Even the most expensive product is not a 100 percent guarantee.

This was such a good deal for my son's Christmas present that I got one for me, too! Each drive was simple to install; XP and Win7 had no trouble recognizing them; formatting takes time, but after all, it's a huge drive.

This was a replacement for the HD in an older iMac and it works great. Tons of room and only slightly pricier than the 500Gb. While saving hide pics and vids doesn't slow down at all

Desktop Dell internal hard drive failed. Installed quickly by local Geek Squad. After download from iDrive up and running quickly with no problems after one month.
