This was the size and speed (7200) I thought I wanted for my new mobo build. The I7 2600 Intel is great but windows 7 64 really hit my performance score for this hard drive, 7.4 to 7.8 across the board till you get to the HD,......5.8 for the slow access time with this drive....works beautifuly and is plenty quiet, and really no complaints here. If your looking for blazing speed this aint it, but if you want a nice quiet HD that does everything nice.....here you go!!! I would buy her again,....and probably will for the wifes future builder...

The hard drive in my Acer desktop went bad after only 18 months of use. Fortunately, I had recently purchased a Dell XPS 8300 and had taken out the Geek Squad contract on that unit. Best Buy extends the contract to up to three PC's per household. That contract covered installation of a brand new hard drive in my Acer. The Best Buy Geek Squad was exceptional - they completed the install in one day and had my pc running like new in short order. KUDOS to the Best Buy Geek Squad!

Why would you buy this Hard Drive with moving parts which can fail sooner than a Solid State Drive which has no moving parts, performs faster and can last longer.

I've always been a western digital fan, but after 4 WD drives quit on me in the last two years, I decided to try Seagate. This drive is so quiet you can hardly hear it. Seems to be very fast too. Only had it about a month, but so far I am very happy with it. It is going to take forever to use the full 1TB (I doubt I ever will.) I have every program, every music cd, and a dozen dvd movies copied on to this drive, and still have over 800GB free. I would reccomend this drive to anyone.

Shopped around for a new hard drive for awhile until I found this one. I was happy to find a 7200rpm drive with 64mb cache for under $80 but after after buying the drive and installing it I found the speed slower than my other drive on benchmarks. I found out that the specifications are listed wrong for the drive. The drive is listed as having a 64mb cache but instead has a 32mb cache. Not a big deal but I thought I was buying a 64 cache so its not sold as described. The drives 2tb+ are 64mb.

I have it in an enclosure attached via USB 3.0 and use it as my iTunes media server. So far it has worked out great, and was easy to install and set up. Speed is OK.

I had a hard drive failure in a NAS server. I needed an emergency replacement and this drive works good. No issues with the installation or data rebuild.

We use another Seagate for backup and now use this one for main data storage. Good price.

I would recomend this product to anyone needing to upgrade or replace their hard drive. Theres lots of space and easy to install.

Installed easy. Software that came with it made a new boot drive copy for VISTA swaped two cables and was done.

This Seagate - 1TB Internal Serial ATA Hard Drive for Desktops worked great.

Hard drive was easy to install and setup. No problem with restoring an image on top of this drive. The image came from another brand of hard drive that was failing.

This drive may not be an ideal drive to run the OS from, I use a 10000 rpm Raptor X for that. But if you are looking for a solid HD to use for storage this one is an ideal choice. I installed 2 of them in my NAS200 network storage system and I am thrilled at how cool they run! Some people might knock a star off for the speed but for a 7200 r.p.m. drive it is not less than I what expected. It is also hard to beat a 5 year limited warranty too.

replaced my 2 old 500gb with this this 1TB to my servers. Very reliable.

This is a very nice 1 TB hard drive for a cheap price! Very satisfied!

7600 rpm 32mb cache 1 TERABYTE It does the job and didn't take long to install Win 7 Pro.
