    Good Drive

How can you write an accurate review after using this product for a couple of months. Here goes !! Installed easily in my 2007 iMac. It is replacing a WD 320Gb drive. Works as expected. The only thing I noticed is that it is not as quiet as the WD. That doesn't mean it was noisy. With the WD I didn't hear anything. With the Seagate I hear a muffled sound. Bought the Seagate because it has a 5 year warranty. The WD only has a 3.

    Get The Black

Having heard some people having issues with the "green" drives I specifically went out of my way to get the Black drive. So far as I can tell it works as advertised and I haven't lost any data. It's in my HTPC which is on 24/7 so if I was going to have any issues they likely would have cropped up by now.

    It does the job

This hard drive installed very easily and came with everything I needed to get it into the tower without any issues. It's stable. The problem I have with it is that it's loud. It makes clicking sounds occasionally, but this does not seem to have any relation to the function. The price was good.

Purchased 6 of these drives. All of them have worked fine without a hitch. The ones I had came from Thailand, so the ones from China I can't really say much about. Would purchase again as I use these in system builds and my customers have been content with them,

Power adapter cable that comes in the box really came in handy. Comes with SATA cable as well. I was replacing a failed drive so I didn't need it but nice to see it in the box.

I bought this drive only because at the time, drive prices have skyrocketed and this one went on sale for under sixty bucks! Glad I got it...installed and running a month or so now with no issues. 1TB, 32 cache, 7200 rpm....not bad at all. Only time will tell. But if I had to pay what it goes for now, I'd have to look elsewhere.

    Drive Fail.

Not a bad drive all around. Easy and quick setup. However about 6months later the drive is making this band sounding click and scraping. RMA process is ok. They make you send the drive first or pay 20 bucks to have one sent to you in advance with 140 dollar penalty if you do not return the drive. I however do not have enough storage on my other drives to accommodate all the data on the failing one. I'm going to get a Western Digital drive like my other 3 that have not failed in over 3 years.

When my hard drive needed replaced, this was the most recommended for our home needs. The only reason installation was difficult was because of the HP computer I was putting it into and the size of the hard drive.

I am avoiding Western Digitals from here on out, WD either in our desktops or laptops have not been holding up like the Seagates have. The Seagate said it was MS 7 compatible, but the instruction booklet and their website do not include MS 7 and the small changes from VISTA took a few minutes to figure out.

Installing this hard drive was simple and quick. Seagate has done a good job at making the transfer of information from the old hard drive to the new one. It took me about 1/2 hour for the whole process.

It's a good hard drive. It's quiet, it runs relativly cool, and it's quick with a 32Mb cache and 7200 RPM. All for a decent price. Saw it on several other online sites for more money.

Rebuilt not New and 1 year not 5 year warranty

Be warned, this is not a new drive and the box is labelled 1 - year warranty. I don't have the time to return it - hope it will last. Disk drive manufactures often have two grades of drives... commericial that they sell to everyone and have 1-year warranties and enterprise drives they sell with 5-year warranties. When buying on-line, I always make sure that I get the 5-year warranty. The description says 5-year and nothing about being rebuilt; however, the box it came in shows a 1-year warranty and the drive has a certified rebuilt sticker on it. Be WARNED

This drive replaced a 250GB. Installation was straight up and easy. You won't be disappointed. Over the long haul is yet to be seen, but a happy camper for now.
