I bought this one for a customer computer build. I knew the computer I was building was going to be fast, and I wanted a HD to compliment it. This one did the trick. My customer has not had any problems with it.

Replacement for a dying hard drive. 1 TB replaced 750 GB. This drive is quieter and uses less power than the drive it replaced, a 2.5 year old drive that came with the computer. Installation was fast and simple.

Very easy to install, plus when operating, it runs very quietly.

What's to say about a device that's reliable, installed easily out of the box and keeps my data safe? That's why I own two of them and would buy them again.

Hard drives capacities have been growing year after year. However, not everybody needs a massive amount of space. This drive offers good performance and more than enough space for the average user. If your hard drive has died this makes an excellent replacement drive or it can upgrade older smaller drives.

Bought this to replace a Seagate 750GB SATA drive that was failing due to age issues likely (6 years old). Flailed away trying to get the computer BIOS to recognize this new drive so that it could be formatted and the Win7 OS installed. Tried different SATA ports on the motherboard (following mobo mfr directions for Primary/Bootable devices), tried different SATA cables, and it simply would not be detected----showing the model number (it did show up on one screen as "Hard Drive", and what's interesting about that is the failing Seagate 750GB was exhibiting that also. Did some brief research on reliability of brand name hard drives and here's an interesting survey: http://blog.backblaze.com/2014/01/21/what-hard-drive-should-i-buy/ While others online have debated the accuracy/nerits of the survey, hey, one graph shows a 36 month timeline difference between brands. You can't lay it all on one model being known bad, or a bad lot. So, case in point....I returned this Seagate drive to Best Buy, bought the Western Digital 1TB drive. Bada-boom! BIOS recognized the drive (with the model number) right away---will attach photo in review of that drive on this website. You might say I've personally soured on Seagate for the time being.

I chose this drive because I needed a quick solution to a dying drive and didn't have time to order one online. My first choice is WD black series, for performance reliability and warranty. This drive is decent for the money but it definitely needs a longer warranty...

I used this to replace my hard drive that had become glitched. It was easy to install and get up and running.. Works great. Super quiet. Happy I picked this hard drive out of several I saw online..

I love Seagate drives. They are competitively priced, fast and reliable. I have purchased all major brands over the years and have settled on Seagate as my brand of choice because of their reliability.

This item to purchase at Best Buy was 1/2 the price for me to purchase from a security camera vendor. It was easy to install and does the job needed.

Our HP desktop computer was having problems. This included just stopping or going to a blank screen. We have a service contract with the Geek Squad. After the evaluation, they told us that our hard drive was failing. This was the recommended replacement. We now have much greater storage capacity and the random stopping has ceased.

Purchased to replace a 220g hard drive in an old home built server, runs quiet and is much faster then the older replaced drive. 1tb means plenty of storage space. Win Server 2003 had no issues adding to the system, quick and easy to install, all mounting holes lined up correctly.

I needed a replacement hard drive for a desktop computer. The old drive was failing, and I didn't want to wait for a drive ordered online. I was surprised to find that this disk drive was available at my BestBuy store for the same price as online. It was a fresh product with latest firmware.

The price was very competitive and it is Seagate - a trusted company since many years.

I bought this as a replacement for a 1TP Seagate drive that was terminal. I had hoped to be able to use the Seagate software to clone from the old HD to the new, but the software was not included in the box like it was for a replacement many years ago. The software that was from the replacement on the prior PC would not work on current OS. My old HD died before I could download the software from the Seagate site. Luckily I had made recovery & backup disks when the problems started so only lost a minimal amount of data. On the plus side, all cables are included and the installation was very easy. As soon as data was restored and PC rebooted, it was just like it was before including the VM drive. Even better than I had expected, but would recommend downloading the Seagate software at first hint of drive failure. (The software is only for Seagate drives so if replacing a different brand HD you will need to bake sure you have current recovery & backup disks.)
