Great hard drive

Good drive bad tools
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The Seagate transfer tools are absolutely horrible, lot functions are locked down and it didn't run a disk check prior attempting to back up and migrate but the drive is solid. I have split with data mirroring live back up of my Windows environment. If you do buy download Macrium Reflect to clone or back up your old drive.

Took off on the 1st restart and has been working every since. I've been using Seagate products for years in my desktops, network and laptop PC's without any issues.

How long it will last only time will tell! It fit in the slot and the connectors connected. Out of site and out of mind until it stops functioning correctly.

Great Basic Drive

No extra bells and whistles but has plenty of storage and provides fast read and write speeds for a mechanical drive. If you dont plan on having a huge collection of msuic and movies, this drive is right for you.

Not a luxury item anymore

I do lots of digital photography, with it's related editing, and a great deal of scanning in many older slides & photographs : so far, about 200 gigabytes worth. The Seagate is a backup for all my work as well as a total PC system backup. I no longer lose any sleep worrying that my heavy disk use will cause unrecoverable losses. My past experience with Seagate is that they are solid performers with a long life expectancy.
