The drive seems to be OK. The biggest issue I have with Best Buy is on the web they say it has a 5yr warranty. The first time I went to the store the ones they had only showed 1yr warranty on the box. I wrote Best Buy and told them of the discrepancy but never changed it on the web. I went to the store a second time with the numbers shown for the item on the web and matched them to the one in the store. They were exactly the same and the sales persons there could not explain why they where advertised as 5yr and the box said 1yr. Just by chance I was looking around in the store and was looking for Western digital hard drive with a longer warranty and of course they were out of stock but I saw the Seagate drive and looked to see what the box said. The only one there had 5yrs on the box so I grabbed it while I had the chance. Before you buy find out what the box has on it or you may not get what you think for a warranty. I read where the 5yr ones are Pre flood drives and the 1yr ones are post wherever they are built.

Bought this so I could create a digital library of games on the Wii U as you may well know your smart phone has more GB then a Wii U. Does its job, would of gave it 5 stars but it is roughly the size of the Wii U itself which is unpleasant to the eye.

Worked easily. If you're planning on an increase to for your photos and family memories, definitely buy this. If you play games and or edit videos... Buy a 2 or maybe 3-4Tb drive.

After 4 years of heavy use, the hard drive in one of my computers died. Since it doesn't do much intensive work, I decided to just throw another spinning hard drive in it rather than a solid state or hybrid drive. I've had better luck in the past with SeaGate than I have with WD, so this seemed like a good price for the amount of storage I was getting. Everything seems to be running nice and smooth again.

Seagate HDD runs Win 7 Pro well on a Gigabyte GA-MA785GM-US2H. The MOBO is a 2009 unit for XP/Vista. Do not install drivers that come with MOBO. I couldn't find updated drivers, etc. for MOBO on mfg web site. However, Win 7 had SATA drivers for HDD in Win 7 install DVD. I did need to download the latest Microsoft drivers for the MOBO Realtek NIC via the update driver option in NIC Properties/Driver section. Also, same for ATI HDMI audio.
