Ended up getting some other components and basically rebuilt my PC. This HD works fine and I will be hard pressed to use up all that memory!

It works

Quiet, large enough

At some point we'll move to a solid state boot drive, and we presently archive older valuable files on another device, so this 1 TB drive is larger than we will ever need. I would recommend strongly against buying a larger one; it is not necessary what with inexpensive network-attached-storage devices and soon-to-be ubiquitous solid state system drives. Always back up your data locally and irreplaceable items in the cloud too.
