We thought that using a computer repair company that wasn't from a big box maybe better. They told us the computer wasn't worth fixing due to extensive need of parts replacements (after keeping the computer for 3 weeks). I decided to give Best Buy Geek a chance and they fixed the computer in two days. They changed the hard drive to this one and it works perfectly.

Good drive works well but the warranty has been reduced from 5 years on seagate drives so they don't think it will last too long

I used this as a replacement hard drive for a surveillance DVR system. It is very straightforward to transfer the old hard drive contents with the OEM'ed back-up and recovery software. I really didn't need the sata and power cables that came in the kit, but it a good to have in case you need them, or if you plan to add this to your desktop as an additional drive.

Good size hard drive for a great price. Seagate is a good name in hard drives and the barracuda series is fast for a large storage format. 64mb cache helps with data access speeds. I have had the 1tb version of this drive for over 2 years in another pc with no problems at all.

Good throughput speed, runs cool and quiet. It has been in service a little over a month. Time will tell on reliability.

I had a PC with a dead user control file, so the computer would not allow any logons. Fortunately I had my original Windows install disks; unfortunately I did not have another spare drive. The old drive was a 250Mb SATA that was nearly full of documents and pictures. I shopped around and Seagate was one of the top two rated drives, and cheaper than its competitor with the same specs. The drive was very easy to install, no need to format the drive. All I had to do after the install was re-install Windows (a tedious task) and the machine was once again usable. This device was an excellent value.

I bought this hard drive to replace one that failed in a Dell tower that was approximately 5 years old. This unit was easy to install and I had no problems loading Windows on the drive once it was installed. The package came with all the parts needed and functioned perfectly.

This hard drive was used to breathe new life into a TiVo and has been solidly performing that duty for the past 4+ months. TiVos by nature perform considerable I/O and this HD has been put through its paces without any signs so far of winding down. And for the price, it's a great deal. Will definitely buy again when the need arises.
