I have several of these for my personal use. Some have failed only after repeated power outages. I did not realize the age of my UPS (battery backup) and when the power went off several times, it ruined my hard drives. Otherwise they are reliable and outlast many other brands. Seagate is the premium hard drive.

Product performed perfectly and still does. It was a replacement/enlargement drive for use in an older smaller capacity external drive, and it was reformatted by my Mac automatically on first use. Then it was used by the Mac for automatic hourly backups. Couldn't be happier with this purchase.

I bought this for the 1TB storage which was paired with a 120GB SSD. I like the drive because it is quiet, decent speed, and have awesome warranty. No complains at 59.99,

I liked the idea that Seagate provided cables so that I could add this to my existing system. Western Digital does not . You just never know when a cable will go bad or why pay extra for the WD . Very quiet and quick drive. I didn't want a large drive so this works perfect for my application.

I looked up on line what I needed when my desktop died after a rain storm recently. Microsoft directed me to this internal hard drive. I had it installed and I am back in business with much more storage than before. GREAT job.

I gave up on western digital drives maybe 5 years ago after I opened one up to recover some data from a failed disk and found a proprietary connector on the drive's board. Never looked back. Have used seagate drives ever since with great luck. Highly recommended.

In retail stores like Best Buy, consumer grade Hard Drives are all pretty much the same. Suggest you shop capacity, price and Warranty rather than manufacturer. If you need a high performance Hard Drive, you can try an SSD drive (assuming size and price meet your needs), or if you need a High Performance mechanical Hard Drive you'll have to do more research staring with Seagate and Western Digital.

Can't beat the price for the same level of quality. It took longer for me to open the case than it did to install, very easy. And to my surprise, it's much quieter than my old, now dead HD.

This hard drive is exactly the same as the one that is in my HP desktop and works great as a spare. It installs easily, but the instructions did not say anything about formatting the drive. It took me a while to figure out that it needed to be formatted. The instructions said that after I installed and plugged in that it was ready to use. Need better instructions. Other than that it is great.

I purchased this hard drive as a 3rd drive for all the games that I've been installing. Installation was a breeze and works as advertised. Great drive for the money!

I've bought little but Seagate drives for the past few years, almost all my dead drives being from a different manufacturer (the one with the two-letter-abbreviated name). This one is fast and was the right price.

It takes a little while yo get going on the setup but once it's done. It's fast and super easy to use. Plus, they price matched it for me so I got like $30 off. Great deal..

Seems to be as fast as any other hard drive. I noticed that it is guaranteed for 2 years instead of the 1 year that the same drive had in the past. Also noticed that it was made in Thailand instead of China which might have been the reason for the warranty extension.

I needed more hard drive space. This worked great and was easy to install

i purchased this 1TB hard drive to store and save all our family pictures of special events and family vacations.also to copy and save special documents and records on so i have it documented if needed in a disaster, such as a hurricane or severe weather event.
