I do have a backup external hard drive for important files in case of any future issues, but I figure that's probably common backup practice for people who have a bunch of important digital files. Redundancy!

For those wanting to know, it's a 7200 RPM drive and it does *NOT* come with any cables or anything. I have about a thousand SATA cables lying around but for the user seeking to add and not replace a drive, please keep in mind you'll need to buy the cable.

With Seagate drives manufactured over the past several years, reliability has decreased. You must check the SMART attributes for reallocated sectors starting in about 2 or 3 years. The bigger the drives are, the higher the likelihood of failure, short lifespan. 1 terabyte seems to be a safer bet, longer life.
