This hard drive was easy to use and has a pretty good warranty on it. The memory for the price was great and not I don't have to worry about losing all my valuable pictures and video! I also am very please with its small size.

Bought this to use as storage for a video game system. Works great right out of the box. Just $50 for 250 GB External. Sleek looking case. Stays pretty cool while operating. Very small, compact, and extremely portable. Thinking about ordering another one just to have a spare in case a need comes up for it.

This is a great product, I was skeptical, but was profoundly surprised by the ease of use and worth of the hard drive. I am a teacher and I use my home computer for some of my stuff and this HD is perfect for moving big files back and forth. I would recommend this to any one who has access to multiple computers, but do not want to carry a laptop for you many files.

I have had one of these little drives for nearly 2 years and it is still chugging right along. I have had a cheaper Western Digital that has bitten the dust in about 6 months. I will only buy Seagate drives from now on. You might have to pay a little more for these drives but they are totally worth it. This should be the biggest factor in purchasing an external drive. Western Digital drives come with a 2 year warranty. This means that they think that their drives will die somewhere just past the 2 year life of the drive. Seagate has a 5 year warranty. This means that they think that their drives will last more than 5 years. Major difference. Save your time, memories, productivity, and sanity buy going with a real hard drive company like Seagate.

Overall I think it was a good buy. You will probably find other hardrives with more space for a cheaper price, but this offers a decent warranty and doesn't come from a no name company. It worked seamlessly with windows seven, and it was immediately working straight out of the box. My only complaint is that the cover plastic is this shiny mirror plastic that will blatantly show any and all fingerprints and dust. Of course that is also my only problem with this drive. I wasn't looking for a big drive, just a standard backup. This is one of the few smaller ones that is of decent price.

Wish it had a little bigger capacity. I thought it was 250gb but in reality it is only 232gb. Otherwise I bought the replica software that is offered to you when you register the product and it is really easy to use. Now my harddrive is fully backed up every time a change is made to it. The full hard drive, not just documents. I am very pleased with this product and would definately buy it again.

Anyway it worth the price, a lot of storage opportunity, very heavy for a portable device, and useful for any laptop that makes you keep the good performance.

The external drive works very well so far--it seems fast and while not the largest of external drives in terms of space, sufficient for my needs. The body seems delicate compared to an older external Seagate USB drive I have which had a very rugged body. The USB cord is useable but much shorter than I would have thought and the part of the cable that connects to the external drive is specific to that connection so if the cord is lost, the drive would be useless. Given the sale price, it seemed like an excellent purchase for its size.

I bought a new laptop. So I bought this online. It arrived in a few days, and I just plugged it in to my old laptop and put all my documents/media files, etc that I wanted to keep just by dragging with the mouse. I then plugged the harddrive into the new laptop, and put it on there. Easy. Took no time at all. My wife is getting a new computer soon, and will use it then as well. So it feels a little more worth it for the price.

This is an excellent little hard drive. When upgrading to my new computer, I thought I should burn all my mp3s and pictures to DVD and copy them over. But seeing that I had over 50 gigs of data, I decided to go the external hard drive route. This Seagate drive, which is not much bigger than your average smartphone, copied all the data I needed from my old computer, transferred it quickly with no software setup on either computer, and did it using USB power only! So all I had to do was swap out the USB cable and drive. Outstanding!!!

Not only do I feel better because my entire hard drive is backed up, but when my old computer went on the fritz and I transferred all my files over I did not realize my macros named in my personal file would not transfer in the 'normal' transfer. I had macros that were absolutely necessary to my job and thought I would have to spend hour upon hour to recreate them...I felt I had forgotten more than I had ever learned during the process..but then IDEA...use this little machine to copy my 'personal.xls' macro file over and VIOLA! All was well with the world.

I was looking for a drive that wasn't off brand but didn't cost a lot and had enough memory for my backups and this fits the bill perfect. A lot of other drives I have seen took a power supply and this one doesn't. Just plug it into any USB port and you're ready to go unless you need a drive for a PS3 then you'll need to download a free program out there to format it to FAT32. This drive is great!

Very easy to use with no installation required just plug in and drag the files you want to store. Great to store movies, music and pictures to free up space on computer. Looks good and havent had it get scratched or damaged at all. Highly recommend

The hard disk is primarily straightforward and easy to use. No included crapware save for the registration app. It's good for a basic cut and paste backup or using Windows own backup program. The down side is that it didn;t include a case. BB is selling cases which is almost half the price of the drive!

Don't know how I survived without this. Now I can take my personal files off my work computer and take them anywhere I go. It is great to be able to work from my laptop without adding the files to the memory.

Easy to use, small and easy to carry. The surface easily scratches, but nothing major.

I have had my seagate for over six years, I have not had a bit of trouble. I store all my information, documents, pictures and movies on it. This was a very good investment. I had to wipe my computers several times and was glad that I didn't have to backup anything, because everything is on the hard drive. Because I have pictures over 50 years old and movies or 20 years old I am in the market for another hard drive to back up my backups, because things happen. I will definitely be purchasing another seagate

This thing is amazing, it's cheap but runs just like the $90 hard drives. There is no installation, you just plug it in and start storing your files. It also looks very nice is is pretty thin. BUY ONE!

This is my first portable external hard drive so..not an expert. The size and form are nice..unit is very quiet..just plugged in and Windows loaded drivers. Only had it a month so..nice to have a back-up of pics and music. Good price from Best Buy, $49, but with shipping it was $61.

I bought this external hard drive for my mom to back files up from her failing laptop. She was able to take it from the box, plug it into the laptop and begin the back up in minutes. Truly "plug and play". The 250gb is good (actually great for backing up the 80 gb she has) but with prices falling and bigger drives available it would be nice to see the pricing come down. The $ per giga-byte ratio is a little skewed and the price a little high. Overall, she is very happy with the drive and recommends it to others.
