We were looking for ways to free up hard drive space on our Mac (movies, pics, backups, etc) and the reviews for this seemed to be great. I can now attest that this portable hard drive is perfect! It was very easy to transfer over the files and it being lightweight is definitely a plus! All in all, I'm very satisfied with my purchase :-)

I went to my nearby Best Buy and they were all out of the PC version of this drive. I bought the mac version and once I got the drive to be seen by the windows computer I formatted and have loved this drive since. It is quick ,quiet and throws off no heat. The size of this drive is excellent. No complaints.

This is small enough to be portable, and has excellent storage capacity for the size. it hooked up easily to my Mac. As with other hard drives, one has to wait to see how stable they are, but in the past I have had good luck with Seagate

This unit works wonderful, just as advertised. Of course, I've only had it awhile now, maybe 2 months, 3 at the most, so can't say how durable it is, but it gives the impression of being very sturdy and well made. It is bigger and seems more solid than my small WD My Passport external hard drive, which is why I got it. But for those who care about such things, this Seagate has it's own power cord and small transformer (I think that's what it is) that's part of the power cord. The WD doesn't need a separate power cord, it runs off of the USB connection power. That would be the only thing that someone else might not like, but I prefer the separate power cord, bigger and more solid unit. So far, it works great, very easy to set up. I would definitely recommend it.

This newer HD for Mac is actually quicker in transfer than previous versions I've had. Even though it is labeled for the Mac, it can back up both Mac as well as Windows without loss of overwrite. This one, I specifically have for my MacBook Pro, and it was extremely easy to sync and utilize Time Machine features to perform continuous back-ups on schedule. A big plus for my photos as well as writing and art.

Recently, I bought the Seagate backup drive, which looked like it should meet all the needs I have- storage size, software for Mac, physical size, etc. So far, it has worked very nicely. The software made it very easy to start working with, and each time I'm ready to do a backup, all I have to do is plug it in. Having a computer that works well without problems is one thing, but to also have accessories and storage media that works problem-free is another. I don't hesitate at all to recommend this drive. Works great for me!

Wanted a drive that I could manually copy files from my Mac to, didn't want to use some pre-packaged backup software. After trying another Seagate drive and not having any luck accomplishing my goal (you had to use the backup software), I found this drive and it worked great. Plugged it in and right away I was able to manually copy files to the drive. No additional setup or configuration required. Great drive for Mac users.

The Seagate backup is just the right size, takes up very little desktop space and is more than sufficient to hold my data. Easy to setup.

This is a small, fast external drive that works great with any mac. 2TB is a great size to get - stays slim for excellent portability.

While shooting video for an out of town project I realized that my XA-10's 128 GB SD cards were going to run out of space before the final shoot AND the client suddenly wanted all the raw files. Time for an extra back up drive. The Seagate addressed all my issues quickly and at a great price. Backed up my files and gave them to the client on the Slim drive. Way cheaper than giving away 4 super fast SD cards! Client reviewed the raw video and later even gave me back the drive.

I bought this drive because it is an extra 2 TB worth of storage in a relatively small form factor. Although flash memory and ssd rivals standard drives in both speed and size, I bought this drive due to the low price and good reviews. My only concern is that given it is a USB 3.0 drive I have not been achieving purported speed of 5 gigabits/s. I have clocked my drive around 130 Megabytes/s but this is max, the avg tends to be around 60 Megabytes/s which is closer to USB 2.0 max threshold. However, if you are looking for a lot of storage in a pocket sized drive this is a decent option.

The Seagate 2tb external drive is light in weight. Slim in design. The interface is smooth and user friendly.

Pros: Small and portable hard drive. Enough capacity for the price. Solid build quality. Does not overheat and quiet. Cons: Slow transfer speeds if you are not using a USB 3.0 connection. Not really 2 TB of memory. More like 1.81 TB of memory. Hard Drive comes pre-loaded with desktop installer. Bottom Line: This hard drive is dirt cheap and holds a lot of memory. Excellent external hard drive if you don't want to upgrade your internal hard drive.

This product is perfect for those who wish to have a quick method for backing up their computer devices. We were so pleased with the purchase of our first device we bought this one in order to have a backup for our backups! It is easy to assemble and hook up to any PC and is very portable. I highly recommend this product for it's ease of use, reasonable price and speed.

My DVR was crashing and I didn't want to lose several things I had recorded. This was a great solution. Saved everything I wanted before replacing the DVR and now have amazing storage. Easy to access to watch programs and then continue to save or delete. Should have done this ages ago.

I was looking for a backup drive for my iMac and this Seagate really fit the need. I bought larger than I needed and partitioned the drive so that I could also use it as a backup drive on my windows 8 laptop. It performs perfectly on both computers and with USB3 is really fast. The size is nice and portable so it's not in the way when I'm not using it.
