After much research on different electric fireplaces, I decided this was the one for me because the media shelf seemed the largest. It is: It holds my cable box placed on top of my DVD/VHS player, and a Bose radio/cd player also on the shelf with room to spare. What I love: 1. The quality of the wood is very nice and the entire piece works well with my existing furniture. 2. I did have Geek Squad assemble the piece. Didn't look easy to me! 3. Although it says the maximum size TV is 45" I had intended to hang my new flat screen on the wall, so ordered a 55". It turned out I couldn't hang the TV because there were no studs in the wall but it fits nicely on the fireplace. I would have been very disappointed had I simply ordered the smaller flatscreen based on the specifications. 3. The adjustable flame/heat works well. When the temperature outside dropped, the fireplace did keep my family room warm without my having to turn up the thermostat for the entire house. I will also love it come Christmas when I can have a "heatless" flame should the weather be in the 80's as it frequently is in Florida. Bottom line: I believe this is one of my best purchases in a long, long time. Hopefully the outline of my old 55" TV box will come out when the carpets are cleaned next week!

This fireplace works great. I'm very happy with how sturdy the woods and how easy it was to put together.
