Exploring in Pikmin 3 feels a bit better than in the previous games because of being able to split up into three teams, and keep an eye on them with the gamepad's screen. The maps also seem a bit more set up for splitting up than Pikmin 2's although there aren't dungeons to go through. It's not quite as easy to control as the Wii version of Pikmin or Pikmin 2 because of the lack of point and click controls, but it's still easy enough to control the game. The main story mode is a bit easy, but the real challenge comes from the Mission Mode where you're scored on your performance on set stages.

I haven't played the earlier Pikmin series, but geez this game is fun. I teaches you to use of Pikmin and how to use them gradually, and you use them to basically puzzle solve your way through the world. The timer aspect isn't that bad as it keeps you on your toes and moving and you can always retry the day, or rewind even earlier if you really screw up. It controls well, has a lot of charm, and is focused on making things fun, a great Nintendo entry.

Pikmin 3 has been a somewhat hard to find game. Even harder if you didn't want to spend ridiculous amounts of money. Now with the Nintendo Selects range you can easily get this game at a super affordable price, and it is worth it. Everything in this game shines, and you can easily lose track of time playing. And once you beat the game, you'll want to go back and see if you can beat it even faster, It's so much fun.

This game is such a fun game and I have been trying to get it for cheap forever, and the Nintendo select at only 16 with GCU is a real steal of a price, awesome game

Bought it when it was released originally in 2013 and as I didn't write a review back then thought it is time to give the game some justice. The game continues the steps of previous incarnations of the franchise, released only for the Nintendo Gamecube. The excellent gameplay from the previous games returns and it's vastly improved thanks to the combination of traditional Wii controls + the Wii U gamepad (that can be used as a map screen). The new HD visuals are absolutely stunning and the newly added pikmins add greatly to the exploration and strategic factors in really interesting ways. For those who have never played Pikmin before --> The player is commanding a horde of up to 100 plant-like creatures called Pikmin and uses their unique abilities to explore the worlds and uncover treasures within them. Pikmin can be directed to accomplish a great variety of tasks, such as building bridges, destroying barriers, and defeating enemies. The Pikmin themselves also come in various colors that signify their special abilities or immunities to hazards.

I've wanted to play the Pikmin game since my son first had a Game Cube. I now have the Wii U and I love Pikmin 3. I'm told it's easier than the first one but I wouldn't know since I never got to play it. I find it gets harder to keep the little guys alive as the game progresses. I still love it.

Been a Pikmin fan for years. Finally bought a Wii U just for this game. I've barely played the main game because the collect treasure and battle enemies missions are so much fun. Glad I waited because Nintendo made it a classic and dropped the price to $20. Great, great game!!

I really enjoy this game but I can see it being not everyone's cup of tea. It is definitely a very unique game. There's a bit of strategery (as George would say), resource allocation, and time management. If you find those type of things fun, then this is the game for you. If you don't, then this isn't the game for you. I took that into account when giving the review of 4 stars. Great game but not for everyone.

This is a wonderful addition to the Pikmin franchise. It's controls are fairly solid, and the inclusion of 2 player mini-games was pretty good. I wish they had a way to play story with 2 players, but it is reasonable that it may not have been possible.

I really enjoy the visuals and sense of urgency in the game, pushing you to be as efficient with your Pikmin as possible. As a newcomer to the series, I was convinced to buy it due to its status as a Nntendo Selects and I was not disappointed. What would make it 5/5 stars for me is if the Pikmin were a little smarter, attacking enemies rather than standing around helplessly.

Pikmin 3 is quite different from the average console video game. Ostensibly a cartoonish sci-fi platformer game, there is much to learn about being aided by little swarms of people. Obstacles abound and the swarms are here to help you. The only drawback is that the game can only be saved at the end of a day. Lots of fun adventures await you.

Pikmin games have always been fun but this hd version is unbelievable. So fun! I definitely recommend the wii remote and nunchuk play style. That's the way it works the best.

This game is a must have! Super fun and with lots of cool puzzles. My girlfriend really enjoys taking turns playing with me, and it is definitely a visual friendly type game.

One of the finest games I have ever played! With realistic looking graphics and beautiful music, Pikmin 3 is an excellent video game. You and your crew mates crash land on a planet named PNF-404. You discover these small, cute creatures called "Pikmin." With the help of these Pikmin, the goal is to recovery as much fruit as possible and find the device that will help lead you back to your home planet Koppai. Pikmin 3 will have you thinking on how to advance through the planet as efficiently possible, with a time limit, a limited amount of fruit, and having to protect the Pikmin from predators. Highly, highly recommended!

If you ever played any of the other Pikmin games, you know what to expect. It's Pikmin! In HD! Yes, the series has evolved a bit since it's debut on the GameCube back in '01, but at its core, the new game builds upon that classic formula in fun ways. Out of the three games it's probably the best (though after almost 10 years between sequels it had better be). Now that it's available as a Nintendo Select, it's hard to excuse not buying it, assuming you have a Wii U. If you've ever had any interest in strategy games, at this price, you may as well give it a try before every copy sells out and it becomes ultra rare again.

This is my son's first Pikmin game and he is hooked. He really enjoys the puzzles. Easy to control characters and simple controls.

I was a little bummed out when i couldn't find a copy of Pikmin 3 for the Wii U. I couldn't tell you how happy I was when the Nintendo Selects version was announced. This was a day one purchase, and let me tell you that this game is great for all ages. Nintendo really raised the bar with this game. It's challenging, but not to the point where you pull your hair out. It's lots of fun. It's one of those games you can just play for a few minutes to pass time and enjoy, or one you can spend a few hours on.

I don't know why this received not as high score on the initial reviews...it's much better than I thought. The game is so cute
