I have 3 kids who like to get into trouble. So if a subwoofer, or speaker with attached cable is on the floor, well, they like to use them as stools or rope or whatever an imagination could lead them to. That is why I searched for a soundbar that delivered as close to possible a multiple speaker surround system. And here it is. I am very pleased with this product. The packaging is very secure and well laid out. Hooking it up was very easy to my OLED 65' LG and Apple 4k TV. Why did I take the plunge on such an expensive soundbar? Could it really deliver enough? The short answer is yes. Let's just start with how each speaker acts independently and creates such wonderful acoustics and surround. Music? I can hear bass over here, acoustics over here, and VOCALS are clear. Same with movies. I can actually hear the voices and words vs. my last LG soundbar where the voices were completely squashed and even at max volume couldn't crank through. Now it is balanced and loud! It's a great value and sits well in my large 20ft living room - open concept. I do not feel like I need more, even though I know audiophiles could always add more and that sure you could always add additional, but I don't need it. Great for music, great for movies. Highly recommend!

The Sennheiser Ambeo supplies surround sound effects without additional speakers. Without adding a subwoofer, it has sufficient bass on the movie setting. It is expensive but none the less a great soundbar! I would recommend it to anyone who does not want to see speakers hanging on walls around their viewing area.

The AMBEO Soundbar is truly amazing! There's no other sound bar that can compare to the sound this one produces at any price. Even without a dedicated subwoofer, the AMBEO delivers the needed low end rumble without taking up additional floor space. But for those who desire that low end, a external sub woofer can be added if desired. The Soundbar designed for the Audiophile in mind.

Have been listening to this sound bar for the past 8 months. Mix of streaming movies and BluRay, also music. This sound bar FUNKS! The surround/atmos effect kicks and the bass is plenty without subwoofer. Best of the best (for now - 2021) if you’re limited to a Soundbar.

The sound is amazing! Doubt you’ll be disappointed. As with any other soundbar, you’ll need to run subs. I’m running dual SVS PB 4000s… neighborhood can hear what I’m listening to and no regrets. It does get hot after a couple hours. I have a small fan to keep it cool. No regrets here!

This is the best standalone Soundbar period. Sound would be a 5 star. BUT one major simple flaw destroys this product, the Bluetooth. The reviews are spot on about the sound but only a few makes mention of the Bluetooth flaw. I was willing to overlook a lot of issues initially, I even purchased the Geek Squad protection because I planned on keeping this as my long term speaker. This was the solution that I was looking for. I already decided I just wanted to clear the clutter of my 5.1 setup and didn't want to add more speakers, so I knew what my expectations were. I even bought a Sonos Arc at the same time to compare. First off, it took me about 20 tries to calibrate. During this process, I also started noticing a crackling sound. I thought it was the speakers but I believe it's the speaker housing itself. I think with all the heat that it generates, the housing contracts and expands causing the unit and components within to generate those sounds. I was willing to over look that. the AMBEO effect is so atmospheric which the Sonos Arc cannot compare. The AMBEO also has so much sound control flexibility with its EQ and you can get it precisely to how you want it to sound. The only thing that it will not give you is that specific discrete sound coming from the back, but I did not miss it at all. Height and sides with movies were excellent, and I have a lot of clutter in my space. With all that being said, the major issue is that the bluetooth connection is useless. The first few days it was ok. But after that it would not connect. I tried re-pairing, re installing the app, turning the unit off and on and it would not find the AMBEO. Only after I started unplugging and plugging it back in, then it would reconnect. You need the app to have control of the eq and sound functions which also includes controlling your subwoofer. Believe me, the app is crucial in tailoring your sound. Even with the Geek Squad warranty, I'm returning it. I can't be lugging this unit back and forth to have it repaired. I do not want a replacement because the batch of AMBEO sound bars that is at the store I purchased from will probably have the same bluetooth issues. Compared to the Sonos. Though I prefer the Ambeo, the Sonos Arc's sound appears to come from the TV screen, it's vertical height is better. The Ambeo, when listening to music and heavy dialogue scenes makes you notice that it is coming from the bar. The Sonos music performance is way better and that's even without a sub. I listened to the Eagles Hell Freezes over DVD in PCM mode, Natalie Merchants Tiger Lilly CD and BJ Thomas's Living Room Sessions CD. Way better on the Arc, both in terms of fidelity, height and width. Again, coming from the Ambeo, the sound comes from the bar. I was willing to make that sacrifice because I have a dedicated 2 channel stereo. If you are willing to expand, go for the Sonos. Since I'm keeping the Sonos I will be purchasing a sub and surrounds. So sad to see the Ambeo go. It is a truly, I believe home theater experience single Soundbar speaker. I tried it with my KEF sub and it was awesome. You'll have to decide if you are willing to put up with those flaws, but I suggest getting the Geek Squad protection. Also, Sennheiser no longer have the remotes in stock. The remote though only for basic controls comes in handy for volume changes and mute because when you use your phone, you will have to reconnect with the app just to do simple volume changes. I also do not know how much longer the Ambeo will be supported since Sennheiser I believe was bought out. Hopes this helps those who are interested.

Replaced with B&W Panaroma I with this and I was completely blown away. I did lot of research before buying this Soundbar. If you are in the market for a premium Soundbar, look no further. PS Has inbuilt subwoofer but external subwoofer definitely helps

A nice sounding system, but I do appreciate a subwoofer to accentuate action scenes and explosions. I return this to get the Dolby Atmos Samsung surround system for my Q 90 A Samsung TV an awesome team they are.

Initially purchased DefTech towers and was blown away by sound but not wife-approved and had some quality control issues. Initiated a return and ordered the Ambeo. It will never be as good as well-powered towers, but the DSP that goes into Ambeo is AMAZING, and the clarity for movies as well as a lot of music is spectacular. Our space is not the idea (higher ceilings, etc.), but effect still seems to work, and more importantly the system has enough power to fill the large room. I did add a sub that made it even better (subtle increase as the freq response of Ambeo alone was great down to 30hz I believe. Discounted from price I'd seen in past, totally worth it for us!

Fantastic soundstage especially with Atmos programs. Very easy setup. I did add an SVS SB-1000 to help give punch in the low end even though it is full sounding on its own.

It sounds really good for the package, but it’s missing the bass and specialness of a surround system for the price. Like I said it sounds really good but there is sometimes where it sounds different or worst than others, I don’t know if this is software related but that’s how I perceive the sound sometimes. I don’t know if I will return it but there is so many systems out there for the same price that I might do it. I wouldn’t recommend it unless you have the budget for an extra subwoofer to get all it’s potential.

Hands down a significant step up-both in music and cinema! I recently sold my home due to traveling. My home system consisted of- Rotel——B & W 800 series speakers…. JL 3000Watt Subs…. (2) Custom crossovers. Approximately 75K….point of this… I love music and movies! I know quality sound equipment. This is it. If I pulled my system out of storage… install and moving cost… 2-3K… then have to repeat when I buy another home. What to do? Buy a good system that I can place in master bedroom later. I needed a sound bar for my man cave bedroom I’m renting from my sister. ADDED PLUS TO THIS SOUND BAR… I can plug in my 3000 watts of sub woofer…. Huge deal to an audiophile!!

I know I know Bose is not high end audio but it is 5.1 with a sub. Even without adding a sub to the Ambeo (which I will) the Ambeo BLEW away the Bose. My wife was even shocked. Its the best sound bar I have owned. I have had the Martin Logan Vision and Bowers and Wilkins Panorama 2 soundbars. I can't say its a 100% surround as its hard to hear anything coming from the back or from up top but from the sides it does great (I don't have a back wall its open). Best soundbar period!
