Customers are saying

Customers are delighted by the excellent sound quality and comfortable fit of these headphones. Many appreciate the lightweight design and find them to be a good value for the price. However, some users note that the bass could be improved, and the cord length is a point of contention for some. A few also mention challenges with volume and jack compatibility.

Omg these headphones are amazing! Being a content creator and streamer, these headphones are the best I've used so far. They're comfortable, lightweight, and I'm able to hear if I'm being called for dinner. 10/10 Would Recommend For Purchase.

I own 5 pairs of Sennheiser headphones. This one being the top of all. Trying to appreciate audiophile sounds. I did enough research before buying this Headphones and it is as expected. Except one factor which is pumping bass, this headphones has everything the best. If you are not so crazy about that you could blindly go for it. I was lucky to find this at its best price with Best Buy.

    THE BEST HEADPHONES UNDER $200

I love good sound. These were on a killer deal at about $80 for a daily deal on the app that I picked up on a whim a few days ago. I cannot stress how great these sound. On the box they are marked as the HD 558, which I have heard around town are some excellent cans at a great price, and I can now say that I believe the hype. I have been listening to many genres of music in my library and I am now able to pick out all of these subtleties in the music that I have never been able to hear before. The range of these are quite impressive, especially for anything you put on or in your ears that are under $200, let alone $100! The bass seems to be a reoccurring question that people are having about this set of headphones, and I can say that I am not a bass head, so I can't make a recommendation based on that mindset. I can confidently say as a person who loves electronic and hip hop music with lots of bass for extra goosebumps that this has pleasant bass response that doesn't hurt your ears or distort the sound at all. It's perfect for me in terms of the bass. I have only had these in my possession for under 12 hours now and I'm already super excited to break these in over time and hear the sound stage mature over time. These are OPEN BACK headphones, meaning that there is going to be more sound leaking out of the headphones than a normal set of buds or closed back headphones. This means that you will have a more expansive sound stage (with obvious sound leakage to others around you) that doesn't feel like it's being forced into your ear canals. This also means that the sound is more natural. I have had a set of the legendary Audio Technica ATH-M50s for several years as my primary set of cans for causal music listening and monitor headphones for my musical instruments and I can say with great certainty that these Sennheisers have a music more pleasant and immersive sound stage. Just the feel alone of the Sennheiser's plush velour ear cups going over your ears is an experience in itself. For gaming, it's also amazing! It gives a greater effect of "surround sound" when you're playing a FPS and helps to immerse you even more in the game and give you a better sense of character and audio placement in the world. I wore these on my head for several hours last night and this morning while trying them out and not once have I consciously felt them being on my head unless I thought about it. With the Audio Technicas, I would feel a definite level of ear and head fatigue after about an hour of having them on. As the Sennheisers break in even more, I feel like this will be much less of a concern, as they are lightweight, have great cushioning on the top of the head and the ear cups are great quality. If you're a fan of music or just want a great pair of cans for your use, I cannot recommend this product enough. It'll make you look at any other set of headphones under $200 with a critical mindset. Especially at $80, I'm feeling like these are the best and most practical deal that I have ever run across!

The only other pair of headphones I have owned was a pair of Koss headphones from the 90s that my parents gave me as a gift. I am definitely happy with these Sennheisers. They are very comfortable and to me they sound great, but I have little to compare them to.

Good price and feel good on. Good sound. I did order a AudioTechnica replacement cable because the cable that comes with it is just too long and cumbersome to use. The AudioTechnica cable fits the headphones perfectly and locks in like the Sennheiser ones

I use these on my computer and it’s the first pair that I don’t feel like adjusting any frequencies. I find the cloth to be very comfortable and the head band provides just the right pressure without being too tight.

Its really good quality in my opinion, really good comfort, only thing i found that wasn't to my liking was having to use an adapter to use with my phone and other devises but they are stereo headphones so if you need some stereo headphones then these are great..

I was not looking for these headphones when I came across them. I was trying to replace a Plantronics headset which had broken, and I was looking for something with a microphone. Obviously, these don't have a headphone or microphone or anything like that, but I don't care. The sound these things put out for the price is well worth the inconvenience (I haven't missed the microphone yet, decided to use my phone for calls instead of my computer). I was worried about the external sound from these, but it isn't an issue for me when I have them cranked to the max bearable volume. I'm no audiophile, I just like these when I'm listening to Spotify or my .flac collection - definitely seem like a wide open presence as opposed to the closed cans I was used to before.

I was disappointed with these Sennheisers(I ultimately went with the momentums which I got on sale for ~$200). They did not sound that great for the price. These would definitely need an amp and dac to sound good(making it more financially worth it to just spend more on better headphones, even higher than the momentums). For those looking at these I recommend the momentums(you can read my review of them(ivory color), much better neutral sound. However the sennheiser 598 I hear is excellent, but would most likely need a proper amp and dac to sound the best(I have not heard the 598s myself so take that with a grain of salt). The Sennheiser headphones are tucked away in the magnolia section instead of upfront which I found inefficient for the consumer. I also would have liked a larger range of models from Sennheiser available like the 598, and other "real" headphone brands like Shure.

Have used these for only a few days. So far they are comfortable and the fact that the cord is replaceable is a big plus to me. The sound quality for the price is great. I have used them for general music listening and some sound production.
