I purchased these headphones when they were on sale during a deal of the day for 50% off. Awesome sound quality, comfort and built sturdy. I love that the cord can be removed from the headphones, it comes with a 3.5mm adapter, and the headband is padded well. I don't like the length of the cord as it is difficult to use during traveling, the 3.5mm adapter does not allow me to use the headphones with my iPhone case use I remove the case, and the headphones are audible to others when in use a medium-high volume.

I picked a pair of these 558's when they were on sale for almost half off, they're excellent 'phones at retail, at the price I got them for they're absolutely amazing! What really impressed me was that they sound almost as good as my Beyerdynamic DT880 Pro 250 Ω... almost. These are an open-backed headphone so the sound stage is there, as is the clarity. The lows are not at deep as my DT880's but tight, mids are clean and not recessed to my ears, and the highs don't sound fatiguing like a number of open 'phones I've heard. These are really good, build quality is nice, plastic but nice. I love the fact the cable is detachable because it allows you options, options are good. I love the velour ear pads too, one of the reasons I always reach for my Beyerdynamic 'phones and I swapped on velours on my Sony MDR-7506 'phones as well, one of the first things I usually do on a new pair. I just prefer the feel and sound of the velour pads so it's nice that these come with a good pair of them. The headband is comfortable on my head and I can wear these for hours and forget they are clamped on. I am giving these 5 stars because they're great, though I would love to see them include one extra cable in the package, and that would be a shorter mobile type cable so I could use these easier with my Fiio X1 player. You're not going to go wrong with these cans if you know what an open backed headphone is and that's the sound you're looking for. If you're looking for stupid dope ridiculous bass, then go get some Beats and don't look at these... these are for people that like high quality audio and are likely to have a collection of FLAC Lossless files they plan to play through them, you know, audiophiles.

These headphones are audiophile quality at a bargain price. Clear, crisp highs, solid bass and wide soundstage. Also extremely comfortable and easy to drive from my laptop. Highly recommended.

The sound that these headphones produce is amazing. I take music theory and need to listen to a lot of music sounds and details. You can hear every instrument and every sound and they are so very comfortable to wear for hours.

Pure sound. Bass sounds good but not unrealistic which makes them good for mixing. Not soundproof at all though, which I'm okay with. Very comfortable. Overall, not a bad investment if you're going to use them on a regular basis.

High quality sound. it is an open type headphone, so you can hear around you. Also you can use for an hours without any headache, comfy too.

I use these headphones to work on tracks with my synthesizer/sequencer and the sound quality is great. Dynamic range and crispness make these an excellent choice.

These are open headphones. Which means you can hear your surroundings, and your surroundings can hear what you're listening to. Some people say they prefer open headphones. I just don't. That being said, they sound great. If you want a good pair of open headphones, I recommend you buying this pair. If you don't like the idea people around you hearing what you're listening to, or like noise canceling headphones,look elsewhere.

I like using these with my PS4 controller because they have so much clarity in sound but every time I want to use them on my phone, I would have to take my phone case off so that the jack will fit. Yeah of course I could of drill the hole wider but I was looking for a reason why to return them. In my opinion Sennheiser make phenomenal audio products. And you would be pleased of how soft they lay on your head.

The sound quality is spectacular. No boomy bass dominance. Spacial effect blows your mind. Do note that this is a open back headphone, which means whoever is next to you will hear what you are listening to, so don't complain this after you buy it. Very comfortable even with eyeglasses on. You can listen to music all day without sound fatigue. Great headphone. Highly recommended! AAA++++

I got these for my boyfriend for his bday and he LOVES them. THey are very lightweight and he loves how they really do cancel the noise. Would definitely recommend these!

I picked these headphones up on a Deal of the Day sale. My purpose was for gaming with a separate mic to form a high quality headset. The sound on these are very good. Dynamic range is great for gaming unless you want head shaking bass that can loosen fillings. My only complaint is they are very tight against my ears/head which does impact comfort during a prolonged use like long gaming sessions. (or I just have a large head)

These phones are great, sound quality is good, extremely comfortable, only downside is sound bleed (to be expected with open-back headphones so not really a con).

I wanted high-end headphones that would serve for listening to a range of music and would also be comfortable for wearing for long periods of time. I have used bose headphones in the past and they did a serviceable job with the sound quality, but did get uncomfortable over time. These headphones were relatively affordable for the quality provided.

This is my 3rd pair of Sennheiser headphones purchased over some 20 years of listening to music. Favorite sounds are jazz, from West Coast style to East Coast sounds. The HD558 headphones provide excellent bass and good clear high's and allow the listener to hear and locate all the instruments in the recording you are playing. Have used them for listening to CD's and various types of music on You Tube with all sounding clean and free of any unwanted noise. They are comfortable and do not emit any excessive noise into the room you are listening in. I did purchase a 1 meter 3.5 mm wire to replace the 1/4" studio plug, which is some 3 meters long and with the 1/4" connector is clunky. Great sounds, very comfortable and not as heavy as Best Buy specs indicate, check Sennheiser website for actual weight. I bought them on sale at BB and consider them a excellent addition to my music listening choices.

Very comfortable to wear over long periods of time, even with glasses on. Great sound quality and comes with headphone jack adapter.

This headset sounds absolutely amazing and feel great. I would recommend for anyone. They're solid and I am happy with my purchase.

Got these for $75 and I believe that the price-to-quality ratio is unbeatable. Comfortable. Sound is well balanced with good lows, midrange and highs. Highs are not harsh or fatiguing like some cheaper headphones I have used. They are also not un-naturally bass-heavy like some others (Beats). Likely would have to spend 4-5 times the price for any appreciable improvement.

I bought this headset to use when playing online games and it is wonderful. I then bought a mic to attach to it and this setup is wonderful. I really like that these are open headphones and they sound amazing. Just keep in mind that because these are open headphones, people nearby may be able to hear what you are listening to. However, this was not a problem for me because I knew this ahead of time and only plan on using them in my house.
