This a good movie for anyone who was a fan of the show.

Tried to watch this movie a few weeks back and it put me to sleep. Maybe I was tired or maybe the movie just didn't have the mojo to keep me entertained... I will find out when I try to watch it again. Keeping my fingers crossed, but not holding my breath.

Not a lot of people knew of this show, but it has developed a cult following over the years, and for good reason. It is both funny and serious at the same time. It was a wonder how they were able to make a movie, since the show was cancelled after a season or two, but the good thing is that you did not have to watch the show to enjoy the movie. It helps but it is not necessary. The movie itself is awesome, and the plot, along with the action pieces, are all well done. If you are a Sci-Fi buff then this movie is for you.

4k at its best for action and superb picture quality

Love the 4k and atmos. Good movie. Would recommend.

As any sci-fi fan will tell you, the series Firefly was critically acclaimed but cancelled by the short-sighted execs at Fox. The browncoats (as Firefly fans are known) clamored for a movie to resolve some of the plot threads from the series. This movie captures the spirit of the series with the characters' crisp dialouge and an entertaining plot. Even the non-initiated will enjoy this movie, however one will wonder what might have been if the series had continued.

Great movie, it has everything. Action, suspense, comedy, drama, romance it will pull at your heart strings. It has one of the best villains ever. It holds your interest from beginning to end. A MUST see. This movie was made because and for the fans of the Firefly TV series, yet it's great as a stand alone movie. I own this movie on VHS, Laser Disc, DVD, HD/DVD, Blu-Ray and now on 4K. It's the only movie that has this loyalty other than the Star Wars trilogy.

I'm assuming if you're looking at this review, you already know what Serenity (the fan-service film offered to appease those upset by the cancellation of Firefly) is, so I'll just comment on this package. I don't know if the 4K Ultra HD edition is better; I don't have that awesome of a TV. However, this is a beautiful box, the extras on the Blu-ray are nice, and the digital code works with Movie Anywhere. What more could you ask for from this product?

The crew from FIREFLY by Joss Whedon are back! If you haven't seen the series, you can still enjoy the movie, but there will be gaps in knowledge of the various characters. That being said, SERENITY takes you on a journey through the eyes of rebels to a system of planets governed by "meddling" authorities. Malcolm Reynolds, the captain, is just a former Browncoat trying to keep his "boat" in the air and protect his crew...and he'll do whatever it takes to do it.

Created as a "final chapter" to the sudden and questionable cancellation of the fan favorite TV series Firefly, it was nice to see the fans be given some closure. I had only heard about Firefly prior to seeing Serenity but still really enjoyed it, so much so that it made me buy Firefly so that I could see the build up to the movie. It works fine as it's own stand alone movie even if you haven't seen Firefly.

Great experience on blu-ray. Highly recommend this and the series once it is re-released. My wife and I watched this movie before we ever saw the show. Which was gone within a blink of an eye on network. It is unfortunate they didn't do something similar to Buck Rogers in the 25th Century and released this movie in theaters before airing the episodes. Because I have no doubt this show would have survived its first season had they done so.

So I saw this movie in the theater when it first came out, not knowing that there had even been the television series. I thought it was just its own independent movie. This movie does a great job of showing those who havent seen the show, the characters. I didnt feel like I had missed anything by not seeing the tv show. Then I got to watch the show and it was great. If you havent seen the show, i would suggest starting there.

Even if you're not a fan of the Firefly tv show or haven't seen much of it, this is a very entertaining movie to watch. It helps fill in some of the character back story from the tv series and moves the story right along. For me, it was the witty banter between the characters that really is the icing on the cake. This is a very well rounded movie with a good mix of action, drama, comedy and a good ending (even if we fans of the show never see a new series come from this.)

I would think that most buyers of this movie are already a fan of Serenity. The difference in this version is that it excels in Audio and Video Quality better than any prior format. Even if you own another format of Serenity, sell it, and buy the movie in 4K. Serenity in Ultra HD is an experience like you've never seen before.

This is the film that "wraps-up" the Firefly series. You don't have to own the Firefly sreies to make this movie make sense. It stands on its own. However, if you like the series then you're going to like this too. Quality is upped as a result of a larger budget and it shows well through out the production. Loved seeing the characters again, even though it is for the last time :-( Serenity (and Firefly) are great additions to any video collection.

If you are planning to buy this movie, you probably are already a FIREFLY fan, so I don't really need to sell you on the movie. It's awesome. But the real standout here is the incredible 4k picture quality and sound. So great to show off your system. One of the best discs on the market right now. And an awesome price!!

If you are a fan of the series Firefly, then you have probably already seen and enjoyed this movie. It would probably still be ok for people that haven't seen the series, but I would recommend watching Firefly before Serenity. the action is pretty awesome and it makes you wish that they hadn't cancelled the series after only 14 episodes.

You do have too watch Firefly to really appreciate the movie. A series that ended too soon but at least got a conclusion and a great one at that. A great Steelbook in this edition as well. Only problem it wouldn't play in my Xbox one but worked perfectly in my PS4. There was a message in the beginning about Blu Ray being new tech so I guess that shows how old it is
