it was ok I am wondering if they will do the rest of the triology or if they will like the Golden Compass

if you like the Hobbit and similar movies, you will like this one too. Great effects and good acting

If you've ever watched a Peter Jackson film you know what I mean by epic, and this film just isn't. I like it ok and they had plenty to work with but it's missing the sweeiping cinematic scenes that they easily could have done, it's missing command performances, the characters seem empty or hollow somehow. Not bad, just not great.

Jeff Bridges played a very convincing role in this film, movie was full of action and advanture.

I'm going to be honest here, I loved this movie. The sets and costumes are beautiful, the action is solidly shot, the effects are great, and it's a fantasy film that has imagination. I'm not going to say it's perfect. It has problems, but it does not deserve the hatred from critics it gets.

Like R.I.P.D. (another movie with Jeff Bridges), this is a buddy movie... that takes place in the middle ages. Do not expect a deep, pondering and reflective movie. This is simple escapism. Good fun for the occasional viewing. I don't know why some pour hate on this movie. It is what it is and doesn't pretend to be something that it isn't.

When i first saw a the trailers for this movie ,i thought that it could be really good.After watching the movie it was just ok.The plot was predictable and the ending was just ok. The writer could have made the movie much more believable and exciting. The special effects pretty good. It was entertaining and somewhat enjoyable. Great cast.
