I loved this movie which has a great plot. I want more.

Great movie, love the fight scenes and the storyline

The visuals in this film are incredible to witness!

I love foreign films and I have a couple in my collection from this director and thought this would be a better film.

This movie was more story than action. It was a okay film with the action starting near the end of the movie.

This Blu-Ray edition simply offers the movie in better clarity than DVD. That is the only advantage of this over the DVD Special Edition release, which was loaded with behind-the-scenes bits. I know a lot of people don't bother with home video disc extra features, and I usually only watch those once, but this does not even have a menu or chapters. Most Mill Creek Direct produced discs are cheaply produced, without proper menus and with poor packaging. Still, if this is priced really low and you want to watch the movie with better clarity, it serves that purpose.

It was a very good movie....just a little too slow for my taste....beautiful in 4K HDR tho!!

Movie story line wasn’t that good but the cinematic me and visuals are pretty nice.

The story can be hard to follow at times, but bear with it. This movie is beautifully shot in various shades of gray and it really lends a certain mood to this movie. Excellent performances by cast, but be forewarned, this is more drama than action so don't go into this movie expecting non-stop fight scenes.

Amazing cinematography and what a showcase between creative story with action spectacles. you will be drawn in on how it will all play out. Just marvelous. Truly a redemption for the director after he gave you a bad taste in your mouth with his previous film before Shadow, The Great Wall. Which you won’t believe like me is director credited by him after you saw the likes that is Hero, House of Flying Daggers, and most recently Shadow.

the movie is a little slow to start but well worth the wait.

Good story well crafted i bought it expecting epic fight scenes left under satisfied. Good story slow and climax under impressive in my humble opinion however the story is strong and i can see why many enjoyed it just didn't do it for me as a fighting movie fan.

Great picture quality on 4k screen. Movie was good but the story is a bit hard to follow. The set pieces were amazing and make up for the weird story. Would have liked more fights tho. The umbrella does not seem like a practical weapon.

I went into this knowing nothing about the film, but knowing a lot about the director. Zhang Yimou's use of blacks and whites makes this a uniquely beautiful film to watch and the action will keep you glued to your screen.

If you are into movies that capture your eyes for the amazing contrast scenes and brilliant colors, this is one of them. Although most of the movie is only a black and white picture, I felt that the movie had great visuals and the story was very unique to the culture lived during those times. The only down side to the movie is that it does not come with a digital version.

Violent and compelling a whole Lotta fun. Asian cinema is coming into its own they may copy Hollywood action genre but they totally know how to make it their own. This is definitely a fun ride.
