Finally went out to my local BestBuy while being safe visiting family during these times to pick up this gem. As someone who has never played a shantae game before now I must say that my time playing this colorful & vibrant platformer is a wonderful experience. Shoutout to the devs over at way forward for putting out this game with all this content. I’m glad to had pick up this game.Shoutout to @LimitedRunGames for having these games available outside the website hopefully retailers get on this.

"Shantae And The Seven Sirens" is the 5th game in the Shantae series and arguably the best to date. This is a tropical-themed, side-scrolling Metroidvania adventure that pays homage to old-school games in more ways than one (there are several enemies, biomes, and music tracks that are obvious nods to Super Metroid and Castlevania SOTN). Unlike "Half-Genie Hero", the world in "Seven Sirens" is connected via subterranean tunnels, making exploration seamless. Shantae still uses her hair as her primary attack, with the standard array of sub-weapons present as well (plus a couple new ones). In addition to new dance powers and transformations, there's now a Monster Card system that provides extra perks; collect the right amount of cards from any given enemy and you can equip up to 3 ability enhancements at a time. After the 8-12 hour campaign, there's a harder mode you can play through with a version of Shantae that has less defense but more magic. Other than that, there's not much in the way of extras. Unless DLC is released, that gives this outing less replay value than "Half-Genie Hero", but it's still a solid experience. I recommend it for any fan of exploration action games.

What can I say? If you’ve played any of the previous Shantae games then I highly recommend Seven Sirens. It’s more of the Shantae awesomeness from the previous games but with more metroidvania elements (instead of different worlds it’s just one huge map that you can progress through with the appropriate upgrades). My only complaint was how easy the game was compared to the rest. Boss fights and platforming aspects felt too easy. If you haven’t played any of the other Shantae games but are familiar with the metroidvania genre, then I highly recommend this game to you.

A limited run release at a very good price! Fun run and dash fun as usual. If you can find it worth the buy.

I love all Shantae games, and this one is no exception. It has the same look and feel as Half-Genie Hero, but there enough differences to set itself apart. I think I still prefer Half-Genie Hero overall, but this one comes close as a favorite. If you love charming old-school style platformers, give it a try.

Solid entry in the Shantae series. Gameplay reminiscent of both metroidvania-style and Wonder Boy-style games. Platforming and controls are solid. Not a fan of the flash-esq art style. Physical versions of Shantae games get harder to find later, so pick it up soon!

the team that make this game is small but they really deliver on the gameplay and the length of the game is justify for the money. the Shantae game is pretty fun, don't cost that much and there is actually a story! which is missing in so many game!

I'm only about 6% through this game so far, but, oh my gosh, it's fantastic! Still a 2D puzzle-platformer, the new hand-drawn anime art style is gorgeous and the graphics are silky smooth. I just unlocked a special ability I'm having way too much fun with. The last one I played was The Pirate's Curse (which was great) and this is a worthy upgrade. The fully animated and voiced anime cut scenes are beautiful. I can't wait to get deeper into it.

A good game if you like metroidvanias. A little easiser than previous entries in the series, but still a fun time!

If you are a fan of the series, you pretty much know what you are getting into with this game. If you have never played the Shantae series before, you can still play this game fine and enjoy it. This is a metroidvania style action platforming game where you discover new powers that allows you to explore more of the map. The animation is great and the story is about a group of genies who get kidnapped and you have to save them. Overall this is a fun game.

Best should try and become the exclusive distributor of Limited Run Games. So much easier to get hands on with out a 6month-year wait like with buying Directly From Limited Run. Oh this good title but I’m also a big fan of the Shantae series in general. It’s a hair wippomg fun play.

I am so glad I finally got this game! I just became a new fan of the "Shantae" series, after playing "Half-Genie Hero" on my Switch, and this game doesn't disappoint either! The graphics are cartoony and colorful, there's tons of different powers that Shantae herself is capable of, and the soundtrack is amazing! Thank you so much, WayForward!

Great to see Bestbuy is selling these. I hope they continue to work with Limited Run. I didn't think i would get a copy under $80 at this point. I don't mind the alternative cover art. I actually like this one better and naturally the game is fantastic.

The latest Shantae hit for Nintendo Switch does not disappoint! So much fun, and the visuals are very pleasing. Glad I picked this one up! Go get it before it's gone :)

Such a wonderful metroidvania. Game franchise goes back a long way, since DMG Gameboy, always high quality. Def a recommend purchase if not sold out.

Just like all their game in this series, it is a must-have. The soundtrack is good, the gameplay is great. Great game to play when you just want to sit and relax.
