The Shark APEX UpLight Lift-Away DuoClean - LZ602 is a lightweight in the corded vacuum market but is packed with power and features which rival the competition. I was please to discover that this was not just another cookie-cutter vacuum marketed for the masses but cheap and worthless. This Shark comes out of the box and assembles in 2 mins flat without the needs for tools or complicated manuals. As I usually do, I ran my old vacuum first and then used the Shark to play clean-up to see if it is any better or just makes noise. The proof is in the pictures as this unit not only picked up a normal carpet by itself, but got everything the old one missed. PROS - The growing trust and quality of the Shark name - Lightweight, portable - Long, heavy duty power cord limits the need to change plugs throughout a room or area. - Quick assembly, easy for nearly anyone - Stand up feature ensure it does not topple over, yet retracts when in use - Loaded with features one would expect from a modern vacuum, even a few only found on more expensive units - Excellent clean up, suction, and power - Great on carpet or hard/bare floors! CONS - Concerned with the plastic stand-up legs. Will they hold up over time? - The collection bin seems a too small for this to be a true vacuum replacement. It is more for touch ups and spot jobs in an upstairs closet.

Overall, I like the vacuum especially for the price. PROS: It's great on rugs/carpet and hardwood floors; easy to clean and maintain. CONS: clogs easily and not great at picking up larger stuff (playdough, food crumbs); the lift-away pod isn't as lightweight as hoped.

Overall, great vacuum for hard floors! Picks up dirt and dust like a champ! Doesn’t throw dirt out of the back. It’s a little difficult to maneuver on rugs, and I wouldn’t buy it for use on carpet if that’s your goal. It’s best for hard floors and thin rugs. A little too heavy during use but you will get use to it. Lots of power. Easy to assemble.

This has been an amazing vacuum. We had a Dyson stick vac DC10 before this. I figured the DC10 would be the better vac as it cost more than twice as much but I was wrong. The Shark Apex has incredible suction power! It pulls every last bit of dirt out of carpets and works great on our hard floors. The kickstand thing is genius, I wish all vacs had that!

Absolutely love this vacuum. Probably the best vacuum I've ever owned. Great at getting pet hair out of carpets/rugs. Works better than other bigger vacuums. You would not expect a vacuum of this size to clean as well as it does.

First, the dust cup is small. This is a capable vacuum that can deep carpets and smooth floors without changing attachments. However, anyone looking at this as a primary vacuum for a large house need to look at bigger vacuums. This is great for apartments and small townhomes, condos, small vacation homes or perhaps that “upstairs vac”. The ability to clean tile or wood floors without changing attachments is a time saver. The brush that cuts long hair saves some hassle as well. You’ll still clean the Zero M roller, but not as often. For me, as someone that has allergies, this is a game changer. It is totally HEPA sealed. Not, just the filter, but all the gaskets and seals saved me from torture every time I vacuumed. Thank you Shark for making affordable vacuums HEPA sealed. That’s usually reserved for very high end vacuums.

We're very happy with it. Mostly use it on hardwood floors but it works well too on carpet. The design works ok for us; we looked at various options in the store before selecting this one. The canister mounted up high does look a bit odd, but it allows for super access under furniture. Plus, of course, breaking it down to hand-vac mode. That's nice to know but so far haven't used it. Finally, the power button is in an awkward location, but it's not hard to get used to it.

    Super Sucker, Strange Ergonomics

Shark seems to come out with something new quite often, this particular machine represents a number of steps forward in vacuuming tech and a few small steps back. This vacuum is a hybrid/crossover between a regular upright vacuum and a canister vac. The canister portion rides way higher, like a stick vac, and then it can come off and be used with accessories away from the brushroll by itself. The build quality, noise, and ability of this thing to pick up dirt and debris are outstanding. No questions about it's utility here. Much more quiet than I expected. I know Kenmore has been putting lights on the front of brushrolls for years, but this one works well and is well executed for working under furniture. The ergonomics and button placement on this unit are a little suspect. It's almost as if the vacuum was designed and then just sent to a 3D printer without prototyping first. The canister piece, while handy, is also quite heavy for most to use. The accessory holder forces you to choose one to leave in the closet, and the capacity varies depending on how you have it configured - canister or upright. Overall I like this but found myself contorting some or being uncomfortable while I used it, which I thought was unnecessary. I'm into the innovation here, but bring in an ergonomist to tell you where to put what!

    Good Power but Odd Design

Overall this product cleans very well. Good power and the pet hair attachments are great. However, the tank at the top Design is a bit odd. It makes it heavier while using and you have to remove it to get to the hose. Not a show stopper but something to be aware of.
