I spent a lot of time researching and pricing this TV. I got the best price at BB and I am extremely happy with my purchase. Their delivery service was courteous and quick. They moved my 60" for me and placed my new 70" accordingly. I have purchased 3 Sharp TV's from BB and all are still in service. This is my first 3D TV and I love it! I have looked at other brands and still like Sharp the best.

I was concerned at first whether I made a good choice between Sharp, Samsung, Visio and others. I tell you hands down I am so happy with my purchase I brag to everyone how beautiful the picture is! I was a Visio man because of the value, but this is worth the little extra money.

I REALLY wanted to like this... BUT...

What I liked... The cost. The size. The ability to play 4k programming. The picture when displaying Full HD programming. The Smart Hub. What I didn't like... Blooming. Edge light. Motion blur. Horrible side viewing. Unsatisfactory picture after several calibration attempts. This TV was in my sweet spot. 70 inches, around $2000, able to play 4k. I did a lot of research before buying this. A LOT of research. In the end, the criticisms that I had read regarding blooming (white clouding on the screen during dark scenes), and issues with motion blur rang true and combined with my problems properly calibrating this set, I had to return it. Shame, because I really wanted to like it. A couple of notes for those of you considering this set. First, I paid for the top of the line 70 inch set with the higher contrast ratio, THX, and advanced motion features. None of these features were worth the expense. The contrast ratio did not make a difference when compared to the lower end 70 inch model. The THX was a non-issue because I'm using my own sound system. And the advanced motion features caused more problems than they were worth. To be clear on that last point... I'm watching hockey with the motion features turned on and I couldn't believe how streaky the puck was. It looked like it was skipping across the screen. Watching Edge of Tomorrow was horrible. When the soldiers are jogging in formation, their faces and bodies were a constant jerky blur. After using all of the motion settings, I finally turned them all off and guess what? No motion blur... or at least an acceptable amount... barely perceptible. So that's about the extra features I paid for. Not worth it. Regarding problems I had read about... motion blur is already discussed. Blooming.... Yah, it has it and it is noticeable and distracting. Watching Maze Runner showed it bad and I couldn't stop looking at it. Edge light... easy to ignore, but still there especially in darker scenes. Side viewing.... I was not expecting it to be so poor. If you are not sitting directly in front of the set to about 45 degrees, the screen gets washed out. And while you may never notice it during movie night, you would definitely notice it during casual viewing when you might be walking around or not sitting right in front of the set. Finally, the amount of effort it took to properly calibrate this set was unacceptable to me. I could never get it "just right" and it was frustrating. And yes, I know how to calibrate a TV. I could get it to look pretty good. But not like I wanted. To those who think I might be nitpicky... I had a Samsung 65 inch plasma that quit and I had none of these issues. Loved that set. Calibrated it and it was perfect. Displayed true blacks and Full HD was incredible. Sharp never came close. So... what did I do? I returned the Sharp and got the 65 inch Sony XBR65X850B for a little more money and couldn't be happier. A little smaller than I wanted. But it is 4k and had outstanding picture out of the box. Hardly had to calibrate it. No motion blur (120Hz), great side viewing, no blooming, and it upconverts all non-4k signals beautifully. This was the better choice for me... I just wish the 70 inch was in my price range. I hope this helps anybody considering this set.

I could have got the less expensive model but I wanted the metal bezel. Much stronger should I need to move. I skipped 4Ks "still in beta testing" (remember beta vs. vhs) sets and went for TOP of the line, TOP of the manufactures - SHARP. They have had the best LCD screen since they invented it. Not disappointed in the least. GREAT out of box, no adjustments needed, Great 3D, GREAT picture from any source. I can't even imagine what improvement 4K could offer in comparison. This is my 3rd sharp LCD. My 37"-720p and 52"-1080p are still healthy. I wanted a bigger screen w/3D. There was no problem connecting to my network and HT. My HT includes Proceed Amp 5, Marantz AV7701 Pre/Pro, Martin Logan Odyssey front, Martin Logan Cinema center and Martin Logan Aerius i rears. This filled the space between those Odysseys very nicely!!

We all ready had a 70 sharp and wanted to up grade to the super bright. We can watch even dark movies in bright day light with no loss of detail. The Q+ gives a great depth of color. The 240 refreash rate makes action easy for the eye to track without blurring. The internet connection does not dropout and the smart apps are very handy. I have not been able to get the remote app to work on my phone. But syncing a bluetooth key board was easy.

So far this tv has been good. Only problem was an issue with compatability with tv and cable box. Something about the signal the tv gives out when it comes on was messing up the box. However, my cable guy finally got it figured out! The picture is great, clear quality and I've yet to have it calibrated! I do wish that Sharp worked with Amazon Prime but I just go through my Wii. One more thing I don't care for is the silver on the tv, makes it look cheap. I covered it up with black tape! Overall a good tv.

I researched a lot of TVs and this is an outstanding choice. The 3D is better than any 3D I have seen in the theater (and I was not a 3D fan). Now if I buy a movie, I get the 3D version if available. Sports and Movies are fantastic on this. This is worth the money and it upgrades to 4K without the 4K cost.

Great tv, sounds is not so good. 4k up scalar is great, tried to run some 4k content and the picture quality is amazing, and 3d is also really great. Design is very good and slim as well. Viewing angle is not very wide. THX cinema is ready awesome and makes 1080p close to 4k content.

This is the most beautiful picture I have ever seen on a tv! It's super sharp and the colors are beautiful. We used the ARC to connect to the sound bar and satellite box, it works perfectly. We love the usb connected flash drive with photos that rotate while the tv is off.

Great tv. You need to adjust the picture settings for the best black levels possible. Black level still not as good as Samsung, but it's worth the money. Purchased it instead of Vizio because of issues that Vizio has after updating. No issues with the Sharp.

This TV has an excellent picture and provides you with ample connection options with 4 HDMI ports, USB, Bluetooth, etc. I use an external receiver with the TV since the audio on the TV isn't great though much better then other LCD TV's I've looked at.

Love this TV. Picture is better than ant TV I have ever owned. I love to show it off when friends come over. Sports in HD are like looking through a window. Watching Blue ray movies is strikingly clear like if you are watching a live feed.

After several weeks of reading on this sharp tv and reading reviews I decided to order the tv the guy at best buy told me that I would be sorry and I should be ordering a samsung I refused to get the samsung and stuck with the sharp aquas 70" and I could not be happier the reviews on the samsung were not even close to the ones on this tv and nothing against samsung I own one In my bedroom I personally think this sharp has more to offer than the samsung the guy at best buy wanted me to get and for a higher price so I would recommend this sharp tv to anyone looking to buy their first or fifth tv.
