I have tried other devices, the sound was often terrible. Nature sounds fake and mechanical. The sounds on this very real and soothing, I use the ocean sound most of the time. Feels as though I am right there.

There are much better options out there for sound machines. Some of the sounds on this unit are odd. The white noise sounds nothing like any of the white noise sound machines we have used and loved before. It's honestly a little annoying so we choose not to use that one. I'd recommend looking into a white noise sound machine from another source if that's your main intent for purchase.
