This movie was done very well by DC/Warner Bros. It is able to convey the comic book characters to the silver screen for a great cinematic experience. DC extended universe is a great example of the direction that DC is moving in, with a lot of fun, great special effects and a fantastic storyline that follows the comic book characters and origins. Can't wait for the sequel.

It seems DC is finally getting their act together and putting out good, solid films. After the success of Wonder Woman and Aquaman, they've released Shazam! Zach Levy is perfectly cast as the manchild Shazam. The film is full of great super hero action thought not as kid friendly as the trailers might suggest. Buy, enjoy and keep an eye peeled for the evil Mr Mind. Highly recommended

One of the best DCEU movies! It has a very charismatic character in Shazam, a very charming performance by Zachary Levi, great action, great villain and so freaking funny! Great looking 4K as well! Very emotional too!

The movie is really fun and a welcome departure from the dark, brooding DC Cinematic Universe. It has a great story and is pretty kid-friendly (the sin demons may be a little scary looking for very young kids). It doesn't seem to take itself too seriously either. The steelbook is fine, but nothing special. I wish they would have been a little more imaginable with the packaging.

First the purchase itself... the 4K discs were on sale so it was an easy decision even though I hadn’t seen it, but I love Zachary both as a TV actor and a Broadway musical actor. Opened the package only to discover that the Digital Code insert was missing (Luckily Warner Bros. quickly provided a replacement via help online). The movie... quirky and fun mostly and Zachary was super awesome, especially as just a goofball kid in an adult body. But there was such a blatant disconnect between Zachary’s take on the character vs. the sleepy, sort of one note performance of Asher Angel, the young actor who played his 14-year-old counterpart. The way his part was written (and performed) gave no indication that the real 14 year old Billy was the same person as the “adult” sized hero he transformed into when he yelled Shazam! I didn’t buy the notion that this same kid turned into Shazam at all, and that is basically the raison d’etra of the movie. None of Zachary’s/Shazam’s mannerisms or speech cadence or personality quirks were even remotely present or hinted at in the young man’s performance. His other siblings fared better, thankfully ... Adam Brody was totally convincing as the adult sized version of his younger counterpart and vice versa (almost wish Jack Dylan Grazer had played Billy instead). Otherwise the film would have been a really great addition to the more lighthearted superhero sub genre.

All hands on deck: SHAZAM is a Sha-blast, it wears its connection to the films that came before it proudly. Obviously it's not as serious as Man of Steel and BvS, or even Wonder Woman for that matter, but carries with it those movies' same level of earnestness and sincerity, embracing not merely humor, but drama, horror, heartbreak, and the hardships faced by newborn heroes.

I knew Zachary Levi would knock it out of the park. I was a big fan of Chuck and excited for him to land this role. The kids, adults, acting, action, comedy, etc all was done very well for this $90 million budget film. Wish there was a bit more action and fighting but overall, very well done movie.

Great re-telling of the DC comics Shazam genre starring Zach Levy as the hero. He did put on 20 pounds of muscle to portray Capt Marvel but wore an augmented suit for effect. Yes, Shazam is also known as Capt Marvel for those unacquainted to comics. Cute little films for the kids with a tame PG-13 rating. Best part is at the end with a surprise guest so don't miss it.

This is not your typical superhero movie. It is more family friendly than most and leaves you with a "feel good" high afterwards. Zachary Levi is the heart and soul behind the movie and I am looking forward to seeing more of him. Overall, a great combination of action, adventure, comedy and the "warm and fuzzies". The Best Buy steelbook edition is, as always, amazing.

I saw this in the theater and knew I would buy it when it came out on disc.I love that it’s humorous and not so serious like most super hero movies these days. That’s the way I remember comics from my childhood. Or maybe I should say those were the comics that I liked. I usually don't watch the extras on a dvd either but I am watching these and they’re pretty fun.

My one piece of advice is watch before you let your young kids watch. We have a 6 and 10 year old that has seen all Marvel movies, and found this to be a little moe on the scarier side than those. Our kids did fine, but we would have prepared them for some scenes. Otherwise, entertaining movie. I personally love watching shows/films with Zachary Levi. I miss Chuck!

One of the few now good live action movies for DC. Do not expect the dark knight as this is a comedy flick that knows it is there to show a hero, get a good laugh, and just have some fun. Oddly enough while it does that pretty well the Seven Sins do have a descent terror design. Not a problem, but may surprise or scare some kids. Of course they aren't that bad, but it can be a little bit surprising seeing them for the first time in a movie that is mostly a comedy.

After watching the trailers for this film I wasn't sure if I would like it or not. Now that I have seen it, I have to say that Shazam is one of my favorite Superhero film. There is so much to like about this film. The story, the message, the action, as well as the humor. It is the perfect package. The video and audio are excellent. A fantastic supplement package.

The film is amazing. Really entertaining film. Zachary Levi was perfect for the role of Captain Marvel AKA Shazam. The final act really surprised me. No spoilers, but you'll love. I was so anxious for this to be released on Blu-Ray. But the packaging is what made me want it more. The slipcover has this really great 3D image on the front, really eye catching.

Sha-BAMMM!!...Did not think that this was going to be decent but I actually ended up liking it a little bit. Expectations were low...especially coming from DC, so they definitely exceeded them. Great family movie so disregard my first word for my description of it...lol. Just surprised by DC's work on this fun ride. That's twice in a row that I came away more impressed than disappointed...thanks to the success of Aquaman. Keep up the good work, guys!!

I think after Wonder Woman, Aquaman, and Shazam DC and WB have finally got it right. This movie was very entertaining and was at least as good as the average Marvel movie, though not anywhere near the lofty levels of Civil War, Infinity War, or Endgame nor should it have been. It was a origin story which focused on it's title character and did a pretty good job.

Really enjoyed this film. The special effects were a little “Scooby-Doo monsters unleashed “ but the story made up for those shortcomings. Zachary Levi was excellent, as was the rest of the cast (especially Faithe Herman). Overall a good movie, but requires a bit more suspension of disbelief because of the ‘less than special’ effects. Great family film

Shazam was not a character I was familiar with, but after watching this movie he has joined the ranks of superheros and by all measures he a true superhero. When viewed on a Blu-ray disc the audio and video quality are excellent. Inasmuch as this movie portrays the importance of family relationships, it is a movie that the entire family will enjoy.

Very funny origin story for Shazam! (Superhero formerly known as Captain Marvel decades ago) A little scary for the younger crowd, but pre teens will love it. I was also very happy to be able to purchase a 3D movie in the United States, so thanks Warner Brothers! Just add the Atmos track to the 3D releases and it would be perfect. Well really close,anyway.

Being that the lightning bolt is the stand out symbol for the film it’s fitting that It would end up as the artwork for this release. Personally the simplicity of it is ok for me. Now the movie is fairly good. The story arc is pretty solid, with a few good performances, but it’s nothing groundbreaking. Worth a watch once, but repeat viewings might be tougher for anyone but the most hardcore fans. Pick it up if you can get it for a good price.
