While this game didn't review as well as the original games, I would say the game is still a great experience. It plays well and has a decent story. If you go into this game without nostalgia glasses for the originals I believe you will enjoy this game.

It's still hard to believe that this game was made after all the uncertainty regarding the fate of the franchise. The design of the game is the strongest attraction as well as the graphics. The game looks and feels very good. Fans of the previous games will know what to expect. The game is just fantastic to play, just to lose yourself in the story and progress along with Ryo.

Great game loved the story highly recommend if you love shenmue 1 and 2.

Shenmue is in my top 5 games of all time! I lts so good I don’t even deserve to play it. I’ve been waiting like 20 years for Shenmue 3 to come out. So what does that tell you about me choosing to get it from Best Buy? It tells you that they are worthy to distribute Shenmue and receive my top choice to get the game after 20 years.

Finally it took 18 or so years for ryo to get out that cave and take his much over do revenge on lan di, the man who killed his father. This game is especially more meaningful and special to all who gave in to have this game made in kickstarter. Its finally here and we deserve it!!!!

If you are an on old school (or just old) gamer then this one might hold some sentimental value for you. I played the first one on DreamCast oh so many years ago and at the time it was the pinnacle of 3rd person action adventures. The plot was great and fed into the second game which was also on DreamCast (though never officially released in the USA you could import and run the EU version), it also was an early excusive for the original XBOX. Anyhow if you want to finish the trilogy then this is for you. Just be aware the mechanics and style are somewhat last gen (like several gens). I would say if you want something with a similar vibe but much more modern then check out Sega's Last Judgement.

I haven’t fully finished it yet but playing this brought me back to 2000 and playing the original on my Dreamcast. For any fans that loved this game back then you will immediately recognize it as a Shenmue game. It’s a very unique feel of a game too.

This game was worth the wait. Some might argue the story didn’t progress by much but am in it for the ride since the first game came out. I have waited a long time but I can wait longer if he keeps making them. This game hits all the notes except for one which it’s not a deal breaker but definitely cost it a point so I give it a 8/10.

This game is for us older shenmue fans and any new fans that want to see what changed games and waved the path for alot of modern games you play now. Excellent game and glad they didnt change the formula on this one! They were dedicated at keeping it the way it was. If it was different gameplay, it would not have been shenmue!

This is not a game for everyone. For those who complain about its control or style or narrative keep in mind the game was made this way on purpose to keep in in line with the previous two games which were from another era of gaming.

If you are a fan of Shenmue 1 & 2, then you have to get Shenmue 3! If you are new to the series, i suggest getting the remastered Shenmue 1 & 2 to understand the game. Shenmue 3 looks great! Great story and music! I am happy that Shenmue 3 finally came out!

Shenmue is one of my all time favorite i.p its been a long time coming for the third game and finally a continuation of the series it just falls a little short on being a masterpiece although still a fun game.

So far, this game is beautiful. I love the setting in Asia and the combat is pretty good but not great. This game is awesome for the story, and also the interactive environments. For example there are plenty of mini games.

This game is alright. Worth the wait for sure but I wouldn’t go rushing out to play it with sooo many other good games out there. I got it for a great price and it came with a Steelbook case too!

This has been a game that all Shenmue fans have been waiting for a very long time and never knew if that day would ever come. So glad they were able to get this released. The game has lived upto all my expectations feels like the classic Shenmue games and has kept to its true nature. Just love it.

Best Buy had a great deal going for this game, and it came with a steelbook case. If you enjoyed the first two Shenmue games back in the day(or at least liked the collection that was released a while back), you'll probably enjoy this too. Unfortunately the game feels dated. The Yakuza series, often referred to as its spiritual successor, handles everything better and has a better story and more interesting characters. People interested in Shenmue 3 are most likely in it for the nostalgia. We've been waiting to play that game of Lucky Hit for "darn" near 20 years, and that's OK. Somewhat dated, yet enjoyable game, but it is not the definitive end of the series fans were hoping for.

If you're a fan of the Shenmue franchise and old school sand box style games (6th generation ) then this game is for you. But I doubt many modern day gamers will enjoy it, this game isn't for everyone.

This game is great for fans of the Shenmue series. Although it doesn’t move the plot forward much it at least feels very much like a Shenmue game. I was happy they didn’t try to modernize it too much to cater to the newer generation of gamers who won’t appreciate the slow build of these types of games.

After all this years I cannot believe this game actually came out. It feels like shenmue, it plays like shenmue, it’s another masterpiece. I love it. I can’t wait to see what happens next

I've been waiting for this one forever. The gameplay is about as much as you would expect from a Shenmue game, but now they've added the element of having to eat too. Overall, it's a great nostalgia trip, but slightly modernized. Now if only they would make a Shenmue 4 as soon as possible!
