    Amazing Season 3 of SHERLOCK!

The third season (or series as they call them in the U.K.) answers in the first episode what happened in the final episode of season 2. Each season of SHERLOCK is three 90-minute feature length episodes. Each season is complete on 2 Blu-ray disc sets. Set in current day, the performances of Benedict Cumberbatch, Martin Freeman and the rest of the cast are top notch. Humor and intrigue mix perfectly especially with the give and take between Holmes and Watson. I have a 60-inch Samsung 3D television, and the images from the Blu-ray discs are amazing. The audio is superb. I know I can watch these episodes on TV, but this is like owning a fine set of literature that you can return to anytime you wish. This set, as well as Seasons 1 & 2 are well worth your purchasing.

The acting is great, the plots are deep, but the best thing about this fantastic series on BBC is that there is this Big Bang Theory/Sheldon Cooper type of humor, where Sherlock Holmes the genius is absolutely clueless (ha!) when it comes to women, sarcasm, relationships, humor, social cues, etc., so he is the Dr. Sheldon Cooper of BBT, and he needs John Watson (the Leornard character on BBT) to help him navigate actual life. Smart, witty, clever and way cool!

You say, "only 3 episodes in a season?" Well, these are feature length stories with quality scripts and some remarkable cinematography. Cumberbatch is brilliant in his character's self defined "high functioning sociopath" persona, which I think works perfectly for Sherlock. I am a fan also of Elementary, the current network version of Sherlock Holmes. BBC's character has a joie de vivre in his work that is very different from CBS' darkly driven one. The rapport been Holmes and Watson feels natural and true which really makes the show work. This is a very different as a series. Instead of a dozen or so episodes where the story is broken up between all or a few, these feel like three complete movies. I won't give anything away, but there is a mind blowing scene in this season where someone is shot, that you'll want to replay a few times. I would definitely start with season 1, tho if you've not seen them. ;-)

The Best Modern Day Sherlock yet.

While I'm a fan of the original novels of Sherlock Holmes, I feel the this series brings a fresh, updated approach to the character in a modern day settings with all the new tools availabled today that the original holmes novel did not have at the time they were written over 100 years ago, YET the bulk of the detective work still remains true to the original Sherlock Holmes observational skills. Brilliantly played by Benedict Cumberbatch (Holmes) and Martin Freeman (Dr. Watson)., the two play against each other flawlessly. Season 3 resumes 2 years later than the prior season's (2) episode 3, where apparently Holmes jumped to his death at Barts Hospital. It seems he somehow survived the jump and was abroad for 2 Years, In summation, all 3 episodes of Season 3 will not disapoint and I will eagerly await Season 4 when it comes out in 2015.

As good as the American take on a modern day Sherlock Holmes can be in the contemporary TV show ''Elementary'', British creators Mark Gatiss and Steven Moffat's ''Sherlock'' tops it by a good measure. Actors Benedict Cumberbatch as Holmes and Martin Freeman as the fully capable Dr. Watson have lent their considerable talents to the creation of entirely new personas for the pair of classic detectives. A full stable of equally talented supporting characters supercharge each episode, and the quality writing provides a barrage of intricate plot twists while still paying homage to Doyle's original creatons and their adventures. This show will be a delight to any viewer, but start with the first of the three seasons' sets before jumping into this one..

If you find the idea of sherlock holmes stories being set in the modern era to be a concept that could possibly be a complete train wreck you are not alone, I was skeptical at first having read a few of the books and wasn't sure about this show. But it works! It's absolutely brilliant. The core of the characters remains more faithful to the original despite the stories not being totally true to the source material. But it's very creative and intelligent, the plot is well written and the acting is also good, my only gripe is that it's looking like I may have to wait two years for season four. I've decided not to give away any plot points here but would highly recommend giving sherlock a chance, it's simply put one of the best shows on television.

Sherlock is the modern adaptation of the famous detective Sherlock Holmes and his trusting sidekick Dr. John Watson. Season three begins with the return of Holmes, portrayed by Benedict Cumberbatch, to London and 221B Baker Street. You can just imagine how Dr. Watson, portrayed by Martin Freeman, reacts to his "dead" friend returning. The stories are well written and contain interesting plot twists but, best of all is the rapport among the actors which make these episodes fun to watch. It's a shame that Sherlock seasons are so short but that may be what makes these shows so entertaining. If you haven't seen seasons one and two you must go back and watch them. You won't be disappointed.

Or "series", for our friends across the pond. Once again, Sherlock proves to be one of the best miniseries (or show in general, for that matter) of this time. I must admit, when I was first told the name, I thought, "Oh." But when I was told it was a modern interpretation of the Sherlock Holmes stories, it was something more like, "Oh!" I didn't know what kind of a treat I was in for at the time, but am so glad to have become a thorough Sherlock addict. Admittedly, the previous 2 seasons were probably better overall, however this one undid the paradigm of the middle episode being mediocre. I feel that the second episode of this season was the strongest one.

What a joy to finally see Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman again as Sherlock Holmes and Dr. John Hamish Watson. All of our favorite supporting characters are back as well. A new villain who you will love to hate arises - Sherlock's final solution will surprise most viewers. And when it seems that the world's preeminent (and only) consulting detective will never be seen again, a fourth season is all but assured by the apparent return of...that would be telling! Oh, yes: there's something about Mary. Sherlock Season Three may only have three episodes, and more behind-the-scenes special features would be appreciated, but this package is more than worth the price.

Brett is my favorite Holmes, but BBC's Sherlock is still a great, modern adaptation of the series. They change the stories (as did Rathbone) so that even those familiar with the originals will have surprises, but, as with all good adaptations of Holmes, the stars shine and help make even the weaker scripts work. This season was originally a disappointment to me -- I was expecting more; but without those expectations and rewatching it recently, I felt more at ease with it. It is not as good as Season 2 (my favorite) but it is still enjoyable.

Sherlock and John are reunited after almost 3 years after Sherlock faking his death. The result is deeper character development, sharper plots, and a lot more comedy. The addation of Mary, and the return of Molly, Lestrade, Mrs. Hudson, and Anderson makes a very well rounded cast and strengthens their relationships. There isn't a lack a crime, however, sometimes it takes a back seat and are only a small part of the plot. This season will always keep you asking, how!!! And you may not get the answers you want but I promise you will enjoy the ride!

In keeping with the first two seasons, season 3 is an example of excellent production. Everything about the episodes is well timed. This series does an exceptional job of taking reality to the almost fantastical. You want to believe that someone like Sherlock exists, which makes the series so much more visceral. Most of this is probably because the characters and the relationships between the characters are so human. There is a wonderful blend of humor and intrigue that draw you in without putting you on edge. Very highly recommended.

Well after spending as much time waiting for Sherlock as Watson did, I find this series was worth it. I adore all things Holmes - and I was a skeptic regarding the modernization but I think it worked well. The actors are excellent, the story arc is engaging and I really enjoy all the nods and references to the novels. I found the behind-the-scenes and DVD extras were well worth actually purchasing the disks. Re-watching to catch all the little extras is nice - it's so fast paced. Plus the subtitles are handy.

It's really elementary- this was a must have, to be re watched many times DVD, and that is after seeing each episode twice in PBS. I especially enjoyed each interview after the television shows, with most on the DVD. But I would still like more info on the authors concerning plot lines, clever responses, what they think works, and doesn't work, depending on the audience. British reviews are quite different, which I don't understand. But I sincerely hope the shows are annual, without such long waits!.

Sherlock's Third Series keeps up with the quality of the previous two, but tackles lesser-known stories from Conan Doyle. This series doesn't focus around Moriarty, as the previous two did, but still features brilliant cameos by Andrew Scott. Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman continue to shine, as does co-star/executive producer/writer Mark Gatiss. Fans who've struggles with the long wait between seasons will enjoy the fan-inspired theories surrounding Sherlock's death from Series Two.

Sherlock is an incredibly intelligent show that revives the original stories by Conan Doyle in creative and unexpected ways. It stays close enough to the book to make you feel like your watching a classic, but it rejuvenates it enough to feel new, different, and interesting. It is superbly acted (with Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock himself, it isnt surprising), well written, and extremely the high quality. Hats off to Moffat and Gatiss for pushing the boundaries and creating a wonderful show.

This is the only Sherlock Holmes series I have ever watched (moive or tv series). I highly recommend this series as it is one of the best series that I have ever watched. The chemistry between the characters and the little quirks the characters have make them easily loveable and leave you wanting more. Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman are the only Sherlock and Watson that I will ever need to know. Get all 3 seasons today and have a Sherlock marathon, you are truly missing out.

Benedict Cumberbatch is the reason to watch this modern day Sherlock adventures. He is aloof and almost detracted from the regular man. Dr John Watson is played by Martin Freeman and he tries to buffer Sherlock's lack of understanding of the human reactions to Sherlock. In this interpretation0 of the Sherlock stories Dr. Watson has taken a bride Mary Morstan so now they both must take "care" of Sherlock.

This series is by far the best adaptation of Sherlock Holmes for the small screen. Holmes and Watson are believable and endearing. This programming is launching a new generation of Sherlockians upon the world, and I can only hope many will find the adventure when discovering Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's original stories through their reading. There are 60 stories out there so be sure to give them a try!!!

I love this series. Grew up reading the books and watching any Sherlock Holmes movie or tv show available. That it is going through another revival of shows, am in heaven. This series is such an enjoyment and I love the by-play between Sherlock and Watson. That the series has been updated for todays technology and world issues is great, while still staying true to the basics of Doyle's vision.
