The sound quality and ease of use are excellent, far better than the yeti and other microphones we tested. But we purchased mostly for zoom lessons and with a flute there was some difficulty for the instructor's audio to be heard without disconnecting and reconnecting the microphone during a lesson, making the lesson a cumbersome process. For voice lessons it was a big improvement but it was difficult to have it angled properly for optimal sound. Zoom music mode helped when using a laptop, but this device is not compatible with a laptop. We may try the shure mv51.

I was using a Sony clip-on-mic and at first it was go, but after a receiving comments via YouTube subscribers that I needed to fix my sound quality I knew I needed to upgrade. Definitely recommend this product.

This is a great little mic to improve over the built in iPad or iPhone mic. Quality is great but included software is limited: disappointing that it does not include editing functionality. 3rd party software is required to make recordings you can edit and share.

Excellent mic! I bought this to use with my IPad to record the band I play in. It does an excellent job and produces a great stereo recording with the three onboard mics. The app you download gives a lot of versatility and options when recording. Very impressive.

I have been using this for a few months now and I can see it greatly improve the audio and recording. The companion app really give you a lot of control over this microphone. Five stars for sure!

Seems to be built Shure tough. The control app is easy to use on the fly. Does give recordings on iPhone a fuller sound.

Greatly improves the audio quality of my videos. My only complaint is that I use a very thin case on my iPhone, by Urban Armor Gear, and I have to remove the case to use the mic. It would be nice if it could be plugged in while the phone is still in the case.

I've been using this Shure MV88 microphone for about two month now, primarily to record videos with high quality audio of my son's rock band performances. It does the job very well. I tend to use the 120 degree stereo setting and when I play it back on my surround sound system it sound awesome, as if I'm back at the show listening amongst the audience. I have a more expensive Rhode VideoMic mic that I use on my DSLR and to be honest I usually get better results with the Shure MV88, at least prior to doing any editing. I find that I'm doing almost no editing of the output from the MV88. My only complaint would be that the Motiv video app that goes with it on occasion really drains the battery quickly. In fact, the second time I used it my iPhone battery went from 90+% down below 20% in a matter of a few minutes. Ultimately it turned out that something with the app messed with the battery display because a few minutes later when it got below 2% it still kept recording for about 30 more minutes, but still it went dead well before I would have had this happen without running the app. Draining that dramatically has happened only that one time, so far. Be aware that you can use the mic with the iPhone camera app to shoot videos and it will use the settings you last used in the Motiv Audio or Video app (I've tested this to be sure), and I've had no similar issues with the camera app draining the battery. But you do lose the ability to change settings and see the audio levels real time if you use the camera app.

Yes it does but ONLY in specific conditions and circumstances. You will appreciate this mic if you are an audiophile WITH specific purpose... like when you need to apply a specific recording pattern in an environment where the recording conditions are not optimal. Other than that, most average users will have rather hard time to notice the difference between results provided by this vs regular mic on latest iPhone models.

Great microphone for vocals. Be sure to check the best settings for your app (i.e., Zoom) before thinking it does not work well. Sound quality is very good. Any compression or input range limiting may be thru your app, not just Shure's MOTIV app's settings.

Great mic, easy to use, small and great sound. Ant video work this is a great option

I use it with my phone to record videos I am doing. Only thing I wish is that the prong were longer to accept my otter box. I have to take my phone out of the case for it to fit in the slot.

The microphone works well enough to record inside outside, etc. I coupled it with an iPhone se attached to a selfie stick to create a sort of boom mic for shooting professional quality audio and video.

This Microphone works good. Recording sound quality is perfect. Unfortunately, you need to charge your phone fully first before use Mic.

Great iPhone mic. Good app to use it. Sound quality is great and picks up a lot of ambient sounds.

The Microphone seems to work quite well. The User Manual takes some study in order to get the hang of it, especially if you want to use it for recording track on track.

I was never able to turn on the mic as there is no turn on/off switch. I downloaded the app as it says and recorded thru it but the light from the mic never turned on. So never used the mic!? I even ordered twice because I thought there was something wrong with it but same thing. Not even the associate from best knew how.
