    This version of the macro lens is alright. Not great, but not horrible either. Focus on it in low light is painfully slow and tracks back and forth to try to find focus. The canon version while quite a bit more money does a ton better job on focusing. If you are in a well lit area shooting and need a good quality and good priced macro lens then you probably will not have any complaints.

    I bought this lens because of its macro capabilities. I needed a lens to get up close to objects for my product photography. I discovered that it's great for portraiture as well. It's tack sharp, fast focus and an all around nice lens.
