Setting up this home security system was a breeze! Each piece already had mounting tape attached so all I had to do was peel and stick where I wanted them to be. Using the system is easy. The simplisafe app took me step-by-step through setup and is played out where I can easily arm/disarm the system. Customer support was also speedy and helpful in any question I had. I appreciate that I can self monitor with the system in addition to the professional monitoring system.

Great price. It was easy to setup and it is easy to use. The app. for SimpliSafe is worthless. You have to subscribe to a month monitoring program to use the app.

Was hoping for a system that I could completely self monitor, but this doesn't really properly do that. In order to use your cell phone or Alexa with the system you have to pay for monitoring. I wouldn't mind paying a little each month to get the connectivity, but I don't want it monitored currently.
The easy setup was great, but it has been complaining a couple of days about a non responsive sensor and I still haven't figured out which one. I like the doorbell/camera and extra camera I got quite a bit. The base station isn't very loud and difficult to hear from the bedroom so external sirens are going to be neccessary.

The commercial does not do it justice when it says how easy the set up is. It can not be any easier. So inexpensive too. No price is to high for peace of mind that this product gives me.

System works well and set up is simple. Siren is contained in base and is not going to create much noise. An external siren is available extra. I guess the biggest negative for me is that you must subscribe (monitoring) for the app and push notifications to work. This is a big negative for me as that results in a cost to make the system usable.

This system replaced my Gen 1 SimpliSafe system. The design is very much improved! The new keypad with larger backlit keys, a larger display, and a sleeker design is one of the best upgrades to the entire system. The best overall upgrade is the integrated wifi!! No more phone jack or network port on the base station, which doesn't look like one of those old-school air fresheners anymore. Overall, the entire system is much more sleek and modern. The connection range between devices and the base station has improved, and the SS app makes managing devices (entry sensors, motion detectors, etc.) and settings (entry/exit delay time, voice volume, etc.) extremely easy! The voice has even been upgraded to sound more comforting, especially at night when we hear "SimpliSafe on. Home." The keyfob is now something you don't mind actually keeping on your keychain. Its thin black design is vastly improved over the bulky white Gen 1 version that doubled as a flash drive to keep your system settings on.
My only complaints, and the reason for 4 stars instead of 5, are (a) the Alexa compatibility and (b) the pricing options.
(a) The compatibility is not as seamless as I assumed it would be. I use "Good morning" and "Good night" Alexa routines. I was really looking forward to having her arm SS as part of the night routine and disarm SS as part of the morning routine. Unfortunately, it's not that straightforward. A software update would simplify (no pun intended) the integration. Amazon & SS need to work together to make that happen.
(b) The pricing...$15 per month is a perfectly reasonable monitoring fee. However, paying an additional $10 per month just for the ability to use the app (including the Apple Watch app) and voice assistant features is kind of like, "Really, SimpliSafe? That's how you're gonna be?" Full disclosure – I am paying that additional $10 right now, but not sure I'll continue to do so. I'm not sure I use those features enough to justify the monthly cost.

Thanks so much for the feedback! Our dev team is always hard at work on improving all our features, so they'll be glad to hear about your experience.
Speaking of, based on customer feedback just like yours, we've enabled basic app controls for all customers at any level. Since you're already subscribed to the $14.99 Standard Plan, those features should be enabled for you already in the app!

This is a great little system! Expandable as/when required, set-up is a breeze; did the complete house install & program in a couple of hours.
One caveat; 3 of the 8 window sensors I installed came unstuck & fell off the window frames 2 days after I put them up. There are mounting screws provided, but I'd used the double-sided tape option. Not wanting to drill holes, I applied a drop of super glue to the adhesive surfaces of the tape & re-applied them, and that did the trick

Very easy to operate. wireless keypad can be set up anywhere in the house. Package includes two motion sensors along with door and window sensors. The sensors include a self sticking backing; however I found them not to be strong enough not to keep several of the sensors on the wall. Recommend using strong double face tape. The company is very responsive to possible invasions. I was alerted right away when the sensors fell from place. I also was unable to add glass breakage sensors. Unit would not recognize. I bought The Shield. Otherwise I like Simpli Safe very much.

All in all this is easier than easy to install and set up. After many attempts to get test mode to work, I had to contact SS. Customer service was more than accommodating. I’m not thrilled with the lack of transparency related to the monitoring. If you want even the basic app to function, you must sign up for the monitoring. Pricing is comparative to other DIY systems, but if you don’t want to subscribe to monitoring, this will only be beneficial if you are at home. I’m a little suspect of a company that is not upfront with it’s customers.

Overall it is very easy to use and to install. The home base however is not loud enough for a large home. It would be nice to be able to increase the volume. We can barely hear it upstairs in our home. Wish there were more notification and alert options as well. For example if the alarm is not armed, there are no notifications that the door or windows opened. I would like to see that information available in the app.

Fast and easy to install. A professional is not required. Signup for monitoring or not. Works with phone and computer apps. Internet access is required.
App provides control over devices. Messages on keypad, cell phone, and computer are easy to understand.
All components are wireless, powered by batteries but camera and main station require outlet power.
