i played the original slave zero on the sega dreamcast back in 1999, it is an amazing 3rd person action title unlike anything else at the time. slave zero x is a prequel to the '99 original, and like its predecessor, x is unlike anything else. instead of 3d action, slave zero x plays more like a fighting game. the 2.5d look combining low-res 3d backgrounds with well detailed 2d sprite characters creates a unique look, and the drab, corporate-ized megacity with its oppressive regime of goose-stepping goons just begging to have their butts kicked gives you all the motivation you and your stolen super-suit need to climb to the heights to shut it all down. if you are a fighting game afficionado, you'll love getting to learn to control x, but less-skilled players like myself can still take down swaths of baddies with button mashing. the calamity edition comes with a cool art book, soundtrack download code, postcards made to look like the billboards in megacity, and a code for a different color for your super-suit. my hope is that this game is successful so we can see a '99 slave zero remaster or remake. this game is worth your time if you love beat-em ups, fighting games and blade-runner. btw, if you own the quake ii remaster, you can download a mod which is a prequel to this prequel, mind blown!!
