I love retro game compilations on modern consoles, but the quality of these compilations can sometimes be disappointing through bad emulation, long load times, lack of customization features, etc. Thankfully, SNK 40th Anniversary Collection excels in all of these categories and then some. Most of the games featured on this collection are unfamiliar to me, and do not resonate with my childhood arcade nostalgia like Namco, Konami, and Taito do. This lack of nostalgia makes this compilation even more important to me, so I can learn more about SNK's pre-NeoGeo roots, all in one place. Thank you Frank Cifaldi and the other fine folks at Digital Eclipse for preserving an important part of video game history!

Being a lover of classic arcade games it’s hard to dislike anything in this collection. But what I can say is that when it comes to SNK’s roll in arcade gaming, they are the crème de la crème of arcade game design. Playing these games in this collection most of us only know from the NES versions, so it’s awesome to actually be able to play the arcade version instead. I saw no lag or anything to make playing not fun. What made this SNK collection better than the past ones is that they are not all from the Neo Geo era. 95% of the games predate that time. Great collection go out and give it a try.

In this collection you get 20+ classic games from the arcade and even in some their console versions. And the console versions play different enough from the arcade that this collection could be thought of as 30 games. The best part about the PS4 version is ALL games are on disc unlike the switch version where half of them are DLC. Pick this up if your a fan of classic SNK arcade games.

I grew up playing most of these games in the arcade. It's great to be able to play them again without having to mess around with an emulator. Not only that, but they look really good on a ps4 pro in 4k. I mean, it's just crisp and clean, upscaled, it's not a remaster.

Hey, if you're "old-school" like I am and want to play some games of old SNK! This ps4 game is perfect for it! Ikari Warriors 1-3 both console and arcade for example? SIGN ME UP! Crystalis old-school Nintendo RPG, 4 elemental swords Fire, Ice, Wind and Earth! Woo hoo!

I can only good things here for SNK! You know a trip back in time with classic titles. Of course everyone can’t get every game you’d want yourself, but this set has a good mixture for anyone.

Amazing collection of classic SNK games! If you grew up with any of these games, you need to get this collection. If you didn't play any of these games, you still need to buy it. It's worth it for Crystalis alone.

The SNK 40th Anniversary Collection had some classics in it, as well as some games that I have never seen before in my life. The addition of the extra content was brilliant, and makes the collection worth your time. If you’re an SNK fan, or you just like old games, then add this to the list.

This is a great example how to do a retro collection. Many cool games and extras to keep you entertained for months.

I love playing all of the SNK old arcade classics. Brings me back to my childhood.

Great collection, my only gripe is it didnt include any metal slug games.

If you like classic games this is a solid collection.

My review is like so many other SNK Collection purchasers.. A must buy for your collection.. You get 13 games taken from between 1981 and 1990 with another 11 due as free downloadable content. Whether you lived through their initial inception or are new to these games.. you will definitely enjoy this package. Buy It!

This is a great collection of games. Really like the arcade and home console version of games. Just wish they put more recent SNK titles.

This compilation is super fun to play. The shooters are arcade classic.
