Great output, easy to hook up and operate. System can be added to with greatest of ease. Easy to download the app the system provides continue updates. The system is a little expensive, you can add pieces over time as your budget allows.

Sub sounds and performs great just not enough for the price compared to other subs at almost half the price. Just to expensive.

My hubs has a samsung tv and the sound would not fill the large living room so a sound bar was purchased. We chose Sonos by the sound of the display in store compared to all the others. The subwoofer was bought for him later as an expansion to the sound bar. I love that it is wireless so can be placed anywhere around the room. There has never been an issue with connection and the base resonates well in the room. A little pricey but worth it for all the possibilities of expansion throughout our home.

This sub woofer is a great addition to the Sonos lineup. I have it paired with the playbar currently and the 2 of them sound like a movie theater together. It's round shape is very modern looking and compliments the room. Being a wireless sub...you can place it anywhere you want...as long as it's near an outlet for power.
Adding the speaker to the mix was easy using the iOS Sonos app. I can control the fine tune adjustments right from where I want to sit.
PROS:
- Modern design
- Easy to setup and use
- Great bass sound
CONS:
- Need to hook to power, so it's still tethered to the wall
- Wish it had just a little more punch, but still...not disappointing for it's size

I have the Sonos Sub with a PlayBar and pair of Play 3s for surround. It sounds great with music, but just so-so with movies & TV. I think the Sub would have made a bigger impact for anyone with the PlayBar alone or with PlayBar + Play 1s, as those are both lacking much stand-alone bass punch. Feels solidly built and has a very nice aesthetic. Pretty simple to set up and adjust placement, but also seems a little pricey (what one expects from Sonos).

After reading hundreds of reviews on the internet about the sonos line of products, I decided to dive in head first. I bought several speakers including this one (to the tune of nearly $3,000) and have not been disappointed. Are they expensive? Absolutely. Is the sound quality on par with buying an actual receiver and real speakers? Absolutely not. As long as you are aware of this going in, I think you can be satisfied with joining the masses of sonos customers.
Don't get me wrong, the sound is great. But it wasn't as good as I expected for the money. I think the sound quality is fine if you're buying individual speakers to put music in several rooms of your house. However, if you're buying these speakers to replace a true surround sound system, you'll be disappointed.
What they lack in hifi sound quality though, they more than make up for in ease of access. I have instant access to more music than I could ever want at the swipe of a finger using only my iphone. This is where the high price gets its justification. Even my technophobe wife loves doing it. There is nothing like coming home and cracking open a beer on the front porch while listening to pandora. And I can do this without 5 remotes, turning on multiple amplifiers, etc. It's all right there from my iphone. I never have to get up to change a channel, or even point a remote, I can listen to radio stations in california or I can listen to my own music stored on my desktop. It;s brilliant,
I'll never have studio quality sound blaring from my speakers. My simulated 5.1 surround sound will always leave a little to be desired. But we listen to more music now - and a greater variety of music now - than we ever have.To me, that has made this purchase more than worth it. In fact, I would agree with many customers that sonos is a life changing purchase. One of the better ones I've ever made, despite the high pricetag.
If you're an average joe like me that enjoys tech gadgets and loves listening to music in every room of your house, you won't be disappointed. If you're an audiophile nerd who must have the clearest sound money can buy, then look elsewhere. This product is not for you.
The sub is probably the one speaker in the sonos line where I would say that price matches sound quality. Even without the sonos functionality, this sub would be worth the money. It is very powerful and sharp. Only buy it though if you are pairing it with the playbar.

I replaced an Onkyo / Klipsch 5.1 system with a Sonos system consisting of the Sonos Playbar, two Play 3 speakers, and the Sonos sub. Big improvement. Clarity and balance is much better. The sub really adds to the richness and depth of sound. Using the control settings the sub can easily be turned on and off to hear the difference, I was concerned the sub wouldn't be able to deliver the punch my Klipsch sub produced, however after watch a few movies the base is very good. The Klipsch out matches the Sonos sub in pure power to rattle the house, however it does not come close to matching the quality of sound coming from the Sonos sub. There is zero distortion and absolutely no cabinet housing vibration. Another big advantage of the Sonos sub is the ability to easily adjust the amount base using the Sonos App on a smart device. Easily turn it up or down as desired. The Sonos sub really brings the sound of the Play 3's to life. I have no regrets and recommend checking out the Sonos sub.

Absolutely delighted when I unpacked the Sonos subwoofer. The design alone was fantastic... modern and minimal with a furniture quality finish. It actually complements my own art work! As for sound, it over delivers on its advertised promise. Although I have it set on 45% of its capability, it delivers outstanding bass that brings dramatic TV scenes into real life, i.e., a train that actually rumbles thru your living room.

I use this sub-woofer in conjunction with a pair of Sonos 1s in our den and the sound is phenomenal. I'm an old school stereo buff and had racks of stereo equipment, Polk Audio 3way speakers and, of course wires running everywhere. This set up with subwoofer and Play 1s has replaced all that. The sub-woofer, of course, sets up easily, and can be tuned to your specific room acoustics, depending on where you choose to place the sub. The app has an adjustable sub-woofer level which comes in handy when you switch from jazz to classical or any time when you want more or less bass response. An absolutely great product with rock solid connectivity to our Wi-Fi that adds audiohphile quality music to our den without the obtrusive wires and bulky speakers.

I must have waited 4 years to buy a sonos system. It's not that I didn't want one, I just couldn't justify the cost. I do not regret at all splurging on it now that it is hooked up. The soundbar, sub, and two play 3 speakers makes for one awesome surround system that you simply plug in. I even disconnect the play 3 speakers and bring them outside when we have get togethers. If your thinking about buying this system, don't think anymore and just do it. You will not regret it!

The bass is incredible. Easy to control and setup! I had been skeptical about the wireless sound quality but have been EXTREMELY impressed! I have had much more elaborate home $ystems in the past (Crestron), and have been very impressed with the quality and ease of expandability and versatility of set up and use on the fly! Will likely add a few more speakers to our system! A great solution that competition doesn't come close to.

I owned just the Sonos Playbar. And I knew I was missing out on a lot of bass but OMG I missing out on SO MUCH bass! Its ridiculous how much I've been missing out on before buying the Sonos Sub. This sub will rock your socks off! Slick design, with 2 powered subs facing eachother. So slim it'll fit underneath your couch! A must buy with any Sonos set up.

I originally purchased the Playbar for my TV and was pretty happy with it as it greatly improved sound over the built in speakers on my Samsung TV. However adding the Sub brought the sound to a whole new level. I highly recommend pairing this up with your Soundbar. With just the Soundbar, the sound can feel a bit muddy trying to deliver the full range of sound. The Sub frees the Soundbar to deliver mid to high frequencies and offload lower frequency sound to the Sub. This creates a much more complete sound experience with punchy bass and clear mids and highs. Sonos isn't cheap but I love the speaker wire free setup and all your Sonos products work in concert around the house. I only wish Sonos would give more control and better organization in the App.

The Missing Link to the Ultimate Sonos System

This subwoofer is truly the missing link to building the perfect Sonos system. I've owned my Sonos 5s for 2 years and they had decent bass response given the rear bass ports behind the speaker and the larger woofers. But the music just lacked a bit of depth. I saw the Sonos Subwoofer and bought it based on all the positive reviews. And boy my systems sounds amazing now. Everything from Jazz to Pop sounds full and complete.
There is virtually NO resonance or cabinet vibration to speak of due to the design of the drivers aimed right at each other. The piano gloss finish is refined but is a fingerprint magnet. So be prepared to dust it. I wished Sonos built a WHITE sub for those of us who bought what 1s, 3s, and 5s.
The subwoofer is definitely a "luxury" item. You don't need it...but you can't live without it once you get it. If you care about your music, then you will definitely appreciate it. Make sure you take the time to place the unit around the room to find the perfect location. No 2 rooms are the same and you need to experiment. Don't forget to go into the Advance setup software menu to adjust the Sub Level to your taste in music. Your efforts will pay dividends.
