So i read many reviews from here, Amazon and cnet etc... I am pretty tech savy but not an audiophile. When i initially setup this sound bar and paired it with the subwoofer i was not overly impressed. The volume and bass was very low. I had the bass turned all the way up to 12 and the volume half way and it was my normal listening volume i usual listen to. I made many troubleshooting attempts including my tv audio settings but could not get this sound bar to sound good. I did read some reviewers having the same issue so maybe it was just a handful who noticed because previous to this sound bar i tried the ct790 and had the same issue so maybe it didn't play nice with my tv. I have a 55 inch 4k lg oled so there shouldn't be any issues. The sound may be acceptable to others while to others its not so you may just have to buy it to find out.

Got a pretty good deal on black friday on this sound bar. The sound bar is nice and does the job, but I wish the subwoofer put out more bass.

I got this soundbar at a very discounted price since I bought my Sony tv the same day. It’s a good sound bar. Only real issue I have with it is that you have to turn it up almost to the max to really notice a difference from your tv speakers. The bass it produces is amazing tho. Unless your getting it at $400 off retail price I’d go with the BOSE Sound Bar.

Spent a lot of time researching for a sound bar system the would work well with my new Sony 940e 4k tv. This system stood out the best for sound and money.

This Sony sound bar can be set up in minutes out of the box! The sound is good, but not great. You need to switch back-and-forth between the TV sound and the sound bar, using the input button, which is a little annoying at times. Overall, a good product for the price. You may consider getting the extra speakers to put behind where you are sitting, for better sound.

Excellent sound system. It is much better than the speakers included with the TV....there is only one negative feature that I'm not crazy about (the reason for a 4 rating). The commercials are extremely loud, they can be controlled to a normal level on the TV speakers, but not on the sound system. That would be my only complaint...with movies, they are awesome!

I have this setup in a basement three out of four walls are concrete I was nervous I would get a lot of echoing with the system. I was dreadfully wrong.

The Soundar remote control has peculiarities that are not well detailed in the manual. Would like more Bass--Subwoofer volume stops at SW12. Best Buy Geek Squad setup instruction was excellent but did not go far enough. Despite Channel 103, the remote is hard to get used to. Best Buy Warranty and Geek Squad services are overpriced and have been fraught with hassles.

It was easy to set up and works great with any tv, just make sure you have the right hook ups. It came with cables but I wanted to upgrade HDMI cable. Audioquest cables really compliment this sound bar. The sub really booms, you have full control over hire much you want to hear the sub so it's great to have that extra control over your sound.

Pairs well with a Sony Tv obviously, set up is easy. I’m impressed with the volume this thing reaches with movies and music. The clarity in the sound is quite crisp and you certainly get what you pay for. I have a sound bar on another tv that was 130$ and when I listen to it now I feel like I’m listening to a tiny Bluetooth speaker in comparison.

Sony soundbar installed with my new TV.. It's OK,, but for the price it should be suberb!! Little disappointed in the sound function.

Compared to the denon heos the sony sounds is clearer and setup easier

I did my research about sound bars and this one stood out for me. With its inputs and 4k pass through, its a great package. The sound is amazing. I'm planning to add a couple wireless satellite speakers later on to complete the package.

Cinema like sound right at home It's the first enhanced sound for me so have to measure but a big improvement over the tv sound

I was not initially looking for a soundbar when I purchased my new Sony 4K TV, but the sales associate at Best Buy suggested this soundbar so I purchased it. After about 2 months I am very happy with the purchase. Previous to acquiring the soundbar, I had an older wired system (5 speaker system with a sub). Once I hooked up the new system it was nice to get rid of the speaker wires. I will mention the sub is wireless to connect to the soundbar but does have a cord for power. Overall I am happy with the product and now am looking at adding the wireless rear speakers. (even though the system works well without them). The only item I would suggest Sony to work on is the instructions. I finally understood them but I think they could have been written to be easier to get everything connected.

I researched for several days online, but if you have been looking into soundbars you know that the reviews are so subjective it's silly. It really surprised me that in this price range everyone was raving about the Vizio soundbars. I had to go to the store and listen. The vizio units really don't hold a candle to this Sony setup. After hearing the Sony, Vizio, and Klipsh side by side, the Sony really does sound the best. One of my requirements was smartcast, which on this unit works flawlessly. Overall we have been very pleased with this unit.

Clear movie theater audio with almost infinite adjust ability. A primay requirement for my 70 year old ears. Totally enjoying my TV now!.

Has great sound, even better paired up with SRS-VR5 surround sound speakers. Takes a little time to startup when TV is turned on. On rare occasions loses sound and than reconnects. Have had for a couple of months now. Don't pay attention to great reviews from people who hooked it up yesterday. I have latest firmware.
