I have this tied to the 75" 940D TV and Sony Bluetooth speakers. It's like being in the movie itself. Sound is amazing and the sun throws a powerful deep base to the entire room. Set up is uber-simple and compliments any other Sony device. I used to be all about Samsung until I found this series of product, now I've changed my tune. Bar is sleek, easy to mount or just place on an entertainment center. In either configuration it throws amazing sounds to fill the room.

Okay so I had a little bit of money to blow so I decided to buy a wireless surround sound system. First I have a PS4, a Sony 49' 800D 4K TV and now this setup with two rear wireless speakers (I'll review those next). The reason I bought this sound bar vs a sonos or Bose is because of the price and sound in the store. Bose you're just buying the name sonos didn't have THX or DTS. Both Bose and sonos are overpriced for what you get. The setup of the sound bar is pretty straightforward and easy. Even pairing with the wireless speakers are easy. The reason I gave this product a 4 is because when you have your iPhone paired with the sound bar and you switch from one device to another there's a sound delay. Also I called Sony to see how I can use one remote for all three devices and they were useless because my 800D remote can control all three (have to use PS4 remote sometimes) when Sony said there was no way. I know this review is pretty vague but if you love Sony products keep everything the same

This is paired with a 55" XBR 900E display and they work really well together. The sound bar sounds great and looks great below the display.

Having zero experience with soundbars I didn't know what to expect. I wish I could have surround sound in my living room where the TV and soundbar is installed but with 20-ft ceilings and an open concept into the kitchen, it wouldn't sound great. Better to do this in the media room. Therefore, I opted for the soundbar instead of surround or even the TV speaker. It's loud and I like the noise that is emitted from this soundbar. I also like the sub woofer included that sits behind my recliner. The sound isn't a great as with surround sound but nevertheless, the sound travels quite well in this open concept area. One thing I haven't figured out is how to make the movie music stand out more. I love Star Wars and the music is a major part of the saga but does not play loud when watching the movies. Maybe it's the 2.1 system versus 5.1 surround sound. I'll keep working on it and we shall see. Also, this soundbar was super cheap because it was on sale so it made it worth the purchase.

Sounds great when on. Unfortunately it likes to shut off on its own and sometimes its difficult reconnecting to television. Volume also seems to need to be turned up pretty high and order to get the full experience. Might just need one more speaker for the back of the room.

This is a great sound bar the sound quality is great, and it is nice and loud. The included subwoofer makes it sound and feel like you're in the theatres. However pairing it with the wireless sony speakers sometimes causes the sound to stop until i unpair the wireless speakers. I can't figure out why it does this, but hopefully an update fixes it. Otherwise i had no other issues with this sound bar.

Bought this for a game room. It fills the moderately sized room with good sound but it isn't going to simulate surround sound. If tests what you want then you need a 5.1 or 7.1 system. It syncs up easily with your equipment and hasn't given me any trouble.

I came to Best Buy to buy a laptop for my mother as a last min, Christmas gift, while @ the store, I stumbled into the TV and soundbar department & stumbed upon an open box item of this marked for a price of $299.99 which was to good of an offer to pass up! Now with that being said, I feel I got a great bargain on this as it normally sells for $799.99 at Best Buy or other stores, for $300 I'd totally recemond this 10x's outta 10! For $800 on the other hand, I think I'd say invest a little more and go with Bose, if you can get this on sale for $500 or less it's a great unit for the price, love the wireless sub woofer and with this hooked up you'll hear sounds you didn't previously know existed with just your tv speakers. I'm looking into adding the Sony rear wireless speakers, but for only a sound bar and a subwoofer currently, this puts out a great surround sound experience!

Great sound! Easy to setup! Have issues when watching TV then we turn on a computer, (which was paired to the Sound BAR previously) the bar gets confused as to which signal to use. Requires a volume adjustment on the TV then all is ok.

The sound bar is pretty good but not sure it is worth the high price. The subwoofer does,t put out as much base as I would like. I added the bookshelf speakers that helped. If you just have to have Bluetooth like me it works.

This sound bar has pretty clean sound, including the bass, & integrates well with my other components. I ended up getting it for $400 because I bought a Sony TV @ the same time, to get $200 off. Now they’ve gone up from $600, to $700. I wouldn’t want to pay the $700 they’re currently selling for though. It’s pretty good, but it’s not THAT good.

I previously had been using a Vizio 38" soundbar with wireless sub-woofer, but after about a year of use, the sub-woofer would not regain sync with the soundbar. After reviewing several models, and listening to the sound quality, I chose the Sony HT-NT5 unit. Got it home, and in less than 15 minute, had it working. Sound Quality is very good considering it is from a soundbar. I purchased the ZR5 wireless speakers to compliment this unit, but they are on back order. If they link up to the soundbar as easy as the sub woofer did, I will be very pleased. There is a Sony App Songpal that can be used to fine tune, and work with settings for unit as well.. The user manual is really hard to follow, and understand, but the on-screen menu worked very well for getting set up.

I was nervous on spending as much on this sound bar given some of the reviews, I took a chance and I am very pleased, the sound is great. I had an upgrade of my satellite service done shortly after installing the sound bar and the technician was very impressed with the sound from the system. He stated that all the bass could not be coming from this sound bar, I showed him the subwoofer behind a chair out of sight. Again he was impressed more important, I like the sound and simplicity of the system and the setup.

Crystal clear Upper Mids and Highs in Bluetooth music mode. Ability to change voicing in movie mode for greater vocal clarity. Could have personally had a bit more sub in movie mode, but not bad at all for its price point. A well designed unit. Easy Installation. Would definitely recommend to a friend. Sony did it right on this one!

This sound bar sounds excellent. I originally purchased a Polk Omni SB1+. I returned it. It sounded great in the store, but it was not impressive after I got it home and hooked it up. Upon returning the Polk, I looked at many other sound bars. When I heard this one, I was again quite impressed. I wasn't even considering a Sony. I got this one home, hooked it up and have been very happy since. The sound is great. The bass can sometimes be underwhelming, but it really doesn't happen that often. It all depends on the source and settings. I like how configurable this sound bar is. The amount of settings and features is pretty sweet. This sound bar won't disappoint. The price is a little steep, but wait for a sale and it's more than worth it.

    1. I would not spend $700 for this device but, you can get it for $400 bundle with a Sony TV. 2. After I figure out the ARC HDMI output port. I will say that I like the sound bar (side connection under the sound bar). 3. It requires a little time to get used to it. Just give it a week to get used to all the options. 4. Sound quality is good. 5. Goo looking device 6. Software quality is good and you will get updates from internet. Cons: 1. The only thing that I am not trill about is that the sound from devices connected directly from the TV is not as loud as I expected from a 400W sound bar. I have to set the volume to 70 to 80% to make it loud enough. In general, for $400, I highly recommend it.

I've had this soundbar for a few weeks now. Setup was extremely easy, just plug and play. I have everything plugged into the HDMI Inputs and connect the TV to the HDMI ARC. I've had zero issues with the audio/video on any of the sources given the user-friendly OSD menu. I've also added two wireless speakers (ZR7) for complete surround sound. Setting them up is easy and as long as you use the remote and OSD menu to handle everything (volume control, settings, pairing, etc) instead of using the phone app, then everything should work flawlessly. The design of the HT-NT5 is great and fits perfectly in front of my TV since it lays flat when it's not mounted to a wall. The sound definitely packs a punch as well as the sub. Multichannel uncompressed PCM sounds amazing when hooked up to bluray/PS4 via HDMI. I also pair a set of bluetooth headphones to the speakers at night since you can easily change the bluetooth mode from "receiver" to "transmitter." I can go on and on about the features the HT-NT5 has but overall it's been an extremely smooth experience with this soundbar. Exactly what I needed for HI RES audio with little to no setup involved.

I purchased this about a month ago and I am pretty satisfied with it. The sound bar and sub woofer produce some great sound and work well with the open style great room I have. And it was exsteamly easy to set up and mount. Plus the wireless sub that only needs to be plugged to a power source is pretty convenient. Only small issue I have is that the link between the subwoofer and the bar occasionally drops off and has to be re-established via the set up screen but this has only happened after powering down and turning the system back on and has never happened while in use. All and all I'd say this is a pretty solid option. Also I like that I can turn it all the way up without any sound distortion

This sound bar is GREAT! Better, less obtrusive equipment and more versatile than the 5 point surround that was wired in the house. Bluetooth to my phone lets me listen to music throughout my entire downstairs. The sound quality is great to me. Especially for music. Movie/TV quality is FAR superior than from the TV alone. 4* because there is substantial variability on TV and Movies to hear dialogue vs other sound. This seems to be a common issue. To hear the voices you pump the volume - then there is an action scene and your ears are bleeding. Well worth the money regardless and the sound is better than the wired system as well. Super easy setup and use. LOVE IT.
