Nobody should buy a tv now w/o a soundbar. Great sound. It is under my tv above the fireplace sitting on the mantle. Still not sure if I should mount it on the wall or leave it sitting on the mantle. With the height of everything still doing trials to see what produces the best sound

Purchases this to pair with our new 75" Sony TV. Originally we went to the store to purchase the BOSE Cinemate sound bar, but the associate pointed out a bundle special. Im usually leery of those "bundle" specials, but after she played it in the store I was convinced. We have Sony products throughout our house, no issues and figured lets match the sound bar with the TV, and my plan was to also purchase the rear wireless speakers at a later date (which I ended up doing). Sound quality wise, probably better to go the Bose route but for the money this was the better deal for us. You can adjust sound quality via the remote, has some cool setup features.

The set up was straightforward the appearance is not obstructive The sound quality is good but nothing like full Dolby surround. The sound is much better than on the TV alone

I have it for a year now and I’m still loving the this soundbar. It’s so easy to use as a stand-alone speaker thanks to it’s connectivity to Spotify and google cast (even Bluetooth if you want to use it) and as a soundbar for the TV. The sound is Sony typical great and thanks to the included subwoofer you get the full action in movies.
And in addition it’s 4K compatible so I had no trouble when I upgraded my whole setup to 4K.

Having just purchased a Sony 4K TV, I wanted to add a Sony sound system. I picked this one up on sale and added two Sony rear wireless speakers to add surround sound (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/sony-wireless-speaker-with-integrated-amplifier-black/4914504.p?skuId=4914504). The next day, the Sony 7.1 system went on sale for half price (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/sony-7-1-channel-soundbar-with-wireless-subwoofer-black/3953262.p?skuId=3953262). I hooked it up to compare the two systems. While the 7.1 had far superior bass, it wouldn't connect to the rear speakers, which I really wanted. It was an easy decision for me to keep this system over the 7.1. This system is remarkable for the price-point (especially since I picked it up on sale). I've no regrets keeping this one over the 7.1. Playing 4K surround sound videos from YouTube is epic! This a a remarkable system for an affordable price. I prefer it over the Bose two-speaker and sub system I had purchased from Sam's Club previously.

What do I like about the N5? Easy connectivity to Sony TV, Googlecast, BlueTooth connection with my iPhone, internet access to Spotify, slim design, specific tweeters based on whether wall mounted or laying flat, large LCD display and wireless bass that isn't too overpowering. Also, Sony's deal for $300 off with the purchase of a Sony TV was a great selling point. Thinking about adding wireless surround sound speakers, but they seem overpriced right now. I have the same complaint with the remote that I had with the TV. Another feature which would be nice is the wireless connection available with the new Samsung soundbars,

This is an awesome soundbar, I bought this open box in excellent condition for 300 and it was a big step up from the insignia one. I love the bass from the sub, I wish it was slightly a little louder but it still provides premium base. The audio modes on the soundbar are definitely fantastic and with ARC as well it fits great with my Sony T.V. if you guys are worried about the HDMI inputs, don't be. I utilize my MSI with a GTX 1060 6gb on it and no lag in the display whatsoever, considering it's going from computer to soundbar to T.V. This is a great soundbar. Along with this I'd recommend getting it, the speaker grill is magnetic so if you need to clean it just lift it up, and boom there ya go. Overall 5 stars on sound, picture, bass I'd put at 4.8 but majority is 5 stars on this.

We wanted something small and simple to setup that sounded great and had the ability to add wireless rear speakers.
The sound that comes out of the sound bar is excellent by itself but even better with rear speaker setup.
There was an update that disconnected my rear speakers from the "network" but it's fixed now. This was only a minor issue.

I got these for half-price, and I'm very pleased. Sound is good for TV and music, the bluetooth works great with my iPhone, and it has the option of playing high res files direct from a USB.
The only downside is that when placed in front of a Sony TV, it blocks the TV's remote sensor, so the remote has to be held high and angled down to work.
That said, if I had paid $800 for this I'd be very disappointed, and can't recommend it. But for $400 I'm pretty happy and would highly recommend it.

With all the new large tv's you'd think they'd have adequate sound projection. Nope. This sound bar and sub woofer are a must have to make the most of your new tv. This one make all our movies more enjoyable. Really adjustable to fit your programming sound demands. Got it at a great price on sale at BB. This is a great mid-priced system and it works well with Sony companion products.

I have never had surround sound and am so glad I chose this system. I am already so used to it (after only a few weeks) that when it goes into standby and the TV speakers take over, the sound is so blahhhh. Great for streaming music as well!!!! Can't wait to get wireless speakers for the back and complete the set.

The sound bar has a really good sound. The sub woofer has good clear bass. Every once in awhile depending on what you are watching in quiet scene's it is a little hard to hear. I really like the easy setup, mounting it was easy it is light weight as well. Linking the sub woofer was simple. I really like the wireless speakers you can link up as well, which you have to buy separately of course. All in all not a bad buy at all.

This sound bar and wireless subwoofer is great quality for a great price as I received a reduced price since I purchased a Sony TV. I have very sensitive hearing and since this my first soundbar purchase, I was initially concerned that I would hear any imperfections in sound quality. I was not disappointed. A neighbor, who bought a very expensive competitor's soundbar system, commented that my Sony system sounds just as good. I am so happy with this purchase, I will buy one or two wireless speakers to go with this soundbar system. Recommend Geek Squad installation as they will show you the full range of capabilities and how to use the remote control and onscreen menus.

I purchased and returned this fantastic sounding sound bar. The sound was great but if i paused the video it would go into standby then i had to cycle my tv and soundbar to get the sound back. quite often I had to cycle both before the sound bar would start recieveing the tv audio. Despite the tv remote and sound bar remote were Sony products there was no way to program to use one remote.

As stated in my previous review of the above TV, the Sony Soundbar added an extra dimension to my viewing experience. The 2.1 Channel was capable after custom settings to deliver a wall-shaking quality sound. The Subwoofer could have been more deep and audible but regardless, I was extremely happy with this combo. Sony was always my choice in electronics since they have been in the business for so long. Their only true competitor is Yamaha and I would rate both evenly depending on the amount you want to spend. In summary, a truly great package that Best Buy put together for sale and I believe this TV and Soundbar Combo flew off the shelves

I originally bought a Vizio sound bar but after the store clerk spoke to us in depth about pairing Sony products together to get the best sound quality and performance, I was sold. The sound bar has been great and hasn't disappointed. We will eventually add the wireless surround sound speakers. In the long run the extra $100 on the Sony sound bar was worth it to have better overall sound.
