Very disappointed in this TV. We have 3 other Sony Bravia TVs currently in our house and have loved them for years. We got this particular TV home and there was no comparison to our other Sony TVs. The picture was not crisp and the colors were off. We returned this TV and bought home a Samsung. The man at the customer service seemed as shocked as we were that this TV was not good.
We sincerely apologize for your disappointment with the 50" Class BRAVIA 2 II TV and the fact that it did not meet the high standards set by your other Sony BRAVIA models. We understand your frustration that the picture quality was not crisp and the colors appeared off, and we regret that this entry-level model did not provide the expected experience. For a significant step up in picture clarity, color depth, and overall processing quality that aligns with the high-performance Sony TVs you've enjoyed, we strongly recommend considering a model from our BRAVIA 5 (Mini LED) or BRAVIA 8 (OLED) series, which utilize our more advanced XR Processor for a truly crisp and vibrant image.

Did not realize this TV did not work directly with my cable provider. Also needed to have a Gmail account to set it up. Returned TV. It may be a great TV, just not for me.

To clarify, the BRAVIA 2 operates on the Google TV platform. If you’d like to install new apps or use voice commands, you’ll need to sign in with a Gmail account. However, the TV also lets you choose between Google TV mode and a basic TV mode—so you can continue to use the TV without a Gmail account if you prefer.
We regret that this model didn’t fit your needs, but we genuinely hope you’ll consider Sony again in the future.

Over priced piece of trash no storage buffers on most google home video app trying to stream live feeds

Officially, this model has 16GB of on-board storage for apps, which is a significant upgrade over previous generations; for streaming, buffering is almost always related to the network, so we strongly recommend performing a simple power reset (unplugging the TV and router for one minute), checking your internet speed (we recommend at least 25 Mbps for 4K), and ensuring all apps and the TV's system software are fully up to date in the Google Play Store and system settings. TV quit working within 6 weeks of purchase. Was watching a movie and screen went black. Tried to turn it on. Nothing happened. Would not buy again.

While the Google TV interface provides a seamless experience for your streaming apps and account settings, you can also download various web browser apps from the Google Play Store if you need expanded access to web-based email services or specific sites.

Clear and sharp as can possibly be

An excellent sharp and colorful image on the screen. I just borrowed from my local library a BluRay dvd of the most recent “Lion King” movie and watched it on the new Sony Bravia tv. It’s’ Images were so crisp and definitive that I felt as though I was looking through a window that I could open and walk into.
