After reading several reviews and having my 4 year old Samsung start to die, I decided to investigate other brands. Had Sony TV's in the past that have lasted 2 decades. I decided on this model after visiting Best Buy several times and talking to the sales specialists. The color is more true to life than my Samsung and its various other features are second to none. It was easy to set up and has not disappointed me in any way. My wife was first skeptical of the 55 inch size but now is the first to boot up when it is time to watch a movie. I could not be more pleased with this set and the Black Friday price. I also bought a second set as a wedding present for my daughter and son-in-law. They are just in awe. Thanks Sony and BB.

I've always had Sony TVs, but almost got a Samsung this time. I'm glad I went with my gut and got the Sony. Great features; super clear; fast refresh rate; great sound. Verything I expect from a Sony and more.

I was unfamiliar with the Sony 4K HD quality until I was in the store and talked with the salesman. I had always been a Samsung person until viewing the picture on the screens side by side and seeing the difference in colors that Sony had. TV provides an excellent picture quality. Recommend making sure you purchase a separate sound bar system as the speakers in the TV are not the greatest but overall this TV is an excellent buy.

We are very pleased with the Sony 55 inch television. The picture is great and the color is excellent. It is easy to change from regular television to netflix, hulu, and all the other special programs.

I bought this TV a few months ago to replace my old samsung tv and its been great. Clear picture, good design, not much to complain about, it does what it says it does. Works great with the PS4 as well.

It is simple to set up and easy to follow the menus to set up. I have DirectTV, so it was seamless to connect. The picture is really great and I didn't have to change any setting to enjoy it right away.

Sony TV had a lot of the features and technology I was looking for. Only TV at this price point with the more modern advanced features for a great picture. Speakers were also much better than anticipated.

This TV replaces a 10 year old 32" Sony TV. The difference is striking. The picture is excellent, and the TV is user friendly. I did add a Sony soundbar (HTCT390) and believe this is a worthwhile upgrade.

Decided it was time to upgrade the TV and figured a 4K was the way to go. Read several reviews and talked to a few sales people. Decided on this Sony. Been very happy with it. Picture is great. Easy to use.

Good low end UHD TV. Excellent upscaling technology. However, the Android software is slightly buggy. The OS reboots atleast couple of times each week. The remote has a very cheap feel, and just doesn't feel responsive. Overall, a good UHD TV for someone with a limited budget and looking for an Android TV.

I love the Sony 55" 4Kultra. It has a great pictures and is easy to navigate. For the price point, I think it was a great option compared to other brands.

The Sony is an excellent TV. Very light, super simple to setup and fantastic picture right out of the box. Setting up with our cable was extremely simple. Works well with Wifi, Netflix, Amazon, etc...

Have no complaints, I have a sound bar, from my old TV sound was not very good on it. Has very good sound with its own speakers. Remote control is a little confusing, but gets easier as you learn it.

There's little we can say about this TV, we had a Sony Bravia before this one, the earlier one was great. This one is even better !! 4K !!! WOW this is a really great set !! Picture is mind blowing !!!

Price was just right for what I needed and I'm very happy with the quality of the picture and the ease of set-up. I added a Sony soundbar and woofer and have been very happy with those as well.

The 850D is a terrific bargain and has all the features you want in a tv. The clarity of the tv is excellent whether you are watching OTA, cable, a bluray or casting the detail of every image is amazing. Black levels are just as good right out of the box but you can tweak the settings to get them better. Not all apps will detect the tv for casting so you will still want to connect a chromecast/fire/Apple tv/roku etc. even though 4K content isn't fully mainstream yet the capability and HDR sets you up for when it does move there and upscales current HD content

I have always been a Sony fan, but the main feature that made me buy this TV was Android. If you use an android phone and already buy/rent movies and TV shows from Google Play then this is a no brainer. Also chromecast is built in so thats always a plus. So three of the things that bother me is: 1. Cannot connect bluetooth headphones (even Sony) 2. "Recommended Apps" which I see as Ads and finally 3. Its not 100% clear on showing you how to get 4k content. There is an official Sony 4k store with a small collection of older movies (like 2002 spiderman) that they will sell for $40. There is another pre-installed app that has 4k content but you must sign up for their service before you can even browse. And I final bonus that I realize will not apply to everyone everywhere is that the TV came with $120 Amazon Video credit to use to buy some "Select" aka Sony Pictures 4k Movies. After about a month with the TV though, I am still impressed.

This TV is better than expected. Picture is very sharp and colors are excellent. We're still learning about all of the features but are impressed with each and every one. Would recommend to anyone!

i like the picture quality overall. I like the 4k and the smart tv ability. Here are my buts.. The tv is slow to change inputs. Not that this is a deal breaker or that it is really worrisome. The tv is an upgrade from my plasma which was not a smart tv and I think the smart tv part is the reason it is slow to react. it is basically a computer built into a tv. The picture is excellent though but here comes another but... I have problems with watching standard football games and such on it. I have to mess with the screen resolution in order to get the best picture possible. not a killer but annoying since they like to change formats during commercials. I wish it did this automatically. It is a smart tv right? watching a blue-ray movie in ultra HD is nice though. sound is alright even without the sound-bar on. set up is fairly easy, just takes a while to update.

This tv replaced an older 42 inch Sharp lcd that l bought about 10 years ago. Picture quality is definitely better. This tv is great for watching sports and playing video games. If you're a hardcore movie watcher and you watch movies in the dark then this tv is not for you. There's some light bleeding near the edges. The next model up xbr-930D would be a better choice for movies. I downloaded a few 4k video files and 1HDR video file. Very sharp picture. Definitely wowed me but Batman vs Superman in 4k wasn't that much better compared to regular blu-ray. I also own the new Phillips 4k blu-ray player. The Phillips does a better job at upscaling blu-rays to 4k than the TV's built in upscaler.
