TV keeps rebooting during viewing. Picture quality not much better than my 2008 Sony. Picture is too dark. Sorry I made this purchase.

My older Samsung has a better picture and much easier to use

TV works fine but the installation left a lot to be desired. The TV does not sit straight on the wall which is disappointing.

Stay clear of Sony TV.
My TV had problems and Sony gave me the run around and was the worst technical support I have ever dealt with of any product I ever bought..And I still did not get it fixed.

It has a decent picture but there were only two hdmi 2.1 inputs.

Don’t Buy a Bravia

Nice TV when it isn’t freezing and having to be restarted, which was way too frequent to tolerate. Bought this TV a month ago and will be returning it. It freezes almost every time we watch TV. Sometimes it restarts on its own, and other times it needs to be unplugged and hard-restarted. Unbelievable for a supposedly high-quality Sony product. Very disappointed and will not be buying a Sony again. Went online for a fix and found a bunch of reddit threads duscussing the problem. Apparently not an isolated issue.

TV is fine, but setup was marginal. Had to get Grande/Astound to complete setup so could use TV.

Always have to restart

This new tv gets two stars because i have to constantly restart it. Every time i try to watch netflix, the words people are speaking do not sync with lip movement.
So freking annoying!

The TV doesn’t turn on half the time and shuts off on its own a couple times a day. I’m going back to my 10 year old Bravia that still works like a charm and has an amazing picture.

I would never buy another sony bravia again i went thru 2 diffrent tvs and had an incredible hard time hooking up a soundbar to the tvs the Ark hdmi ports to hook up the soundbars works terrible the tvs could not find the devices.

TV shuts itself off randomly 50% of the time watching it. All settings are correct as they should be. I missed the return window and Best Buy does not handle this brand on warranty so I am in the Sony cycle of trying to get this resolved. Very disappointment as my prior Sony was perfect for years. I would not recommend.

Sony Bravia 8 OLED - 55"

We updated from our 2015 Bravia LED to this TV and could not be happier. Have been thinking about going OLED for some time and was not disappointed. Some complaints noted the picture was too dark. There are plenty of ways to tweek this set and lighten. Besides true blacks are dark that's the beauty of this TV.
We're using in our lower level that does have too large windows. There is a glare issue if shades are open but I don't find it can't be overcome.
Movies, sports and all else are visually improved and a joy to watch. The screen sound is quite good. We went with a Sonos soundbar from our previous set up.
We are pleased to learn that your transition from your 2015 LED to the BRAVIA 8 has been such a rewarding upgrade. You hit the nail on the head regarding the beauty of OLED; those "true blacks" create a level of contrast and depth that makes movies and sports truly come alive. We also appreciate you mentioning the flexibility of the settings—while OLED is designed for cinematic accuracy, the ability to tweak the brightness ensures the picture looks great even in rooms with windows. It is also wonderful to hear that our Acoustic Surface Audio+ technology impressed you, even alongside your dedicated soundbar setup.

Issues With Streaming

This TV model has issues with a "crackling sound" during streaming from an iphone. In fact, it was impossible to stream.
We're very sorry to hear you're experiencing this issue with your new BRAVIA 8 TV. A "crackling sound" and being unable to stream from your iPhone is definitely not the experience we want for you, and we understand how frustrating that can be.
This sounds like it could be a compatibility or software-related issue with the AirPlay connection. Make sure your TV and phone has the latest firmware updates, and restart both devices.

Beautiful Picture and easy to set up, love our new tv. 2nd Sony Bravia we've had. The last one we had lasted over 15 years with no issues. The only reason we got a new one was because technology has changed and we needed something capable of getting 4K now.

New TV delivers

The Sony Bravia works well but the sound bar blocks the area to turn it on and off so we have to walk close to the TV to turn it on or off. Sound bar is excellent and our old Samsung did not have it.
It’s rewarding to hear that your new BRAVIA 8 and soundbar are providing such a superior experience compared to your previous setup. Regarding the placement, you may find it helpful to adjust the TV stands to the Soundbar Position; this raises the screen slightly to provide extra clearance, which should help with that line-of-sight for your remote and power sensor.

Except for a couple times where I had to do a hard reset the TV has been great. Beautiful image and sound was much better than I thought it would be. Haven’t used the features specific to streaming services like the IMAX enhanced, but my 4k Criterion’s looks amazing. A little worried about the long term. Don’t like having to reset it twice within a week of purchasing.

Best TV I’ve had

I had a Samsung QLED before buying this one but due to the amount of brightness on it it wasn’t ideal for a small room and I’ve had a good past impression from Sony TVs having the right amount of brightness while keeping dark colors dark if that makes any sense. Overall I love this TV!
