After looking up tvs on rtings.com and doing my research, this hands down is the best tv in its class. It has some of the best contrast available on the market. Everyone talks about the OLEDs but they just have amazing blacks. This has amazing CONTRAST overall because it can reach brightness that the OLEDs can't, but at the same time get black levels that are close to the OLEDs. Definitely a tv you should consider if you are buying a 55" and 65". I did consider Samsung, but the only tv that can compete with this tv is their Q9 which is twice the price and half the motion. For people who don't want to spend this much, I would say Sony's x900e models would be a great 2nd choice.

This 2017 55in Sony is replacing a 55in Samsung which served me well for the past 5 yrs but it was time to upgrade. FYI, this is a very heavy! My old Samsung was 35lbs and the Sony is 65lbs. S just for peace of mind I reinforced my wall mount. The setup is pretty easy and seamless. Since I "cut the cord" approx. one year ago, I have been using the Amazon Firestick and Google Chromcast a lot and having to switch input a lot but the new Sony it is very easy to access to watch all the Amazon apps + HBO Now, Showtime, Hulu, Netflix, etc...Very convenient! Otherwise, the image is crisp and beautiful. the sound is decent but I use a sound bar (3.1ch) so my sound is always better than the built in.

Purchased a Samsung 40 inch magnolia series for new home. mounted on wall above fireplace. the picture was good and had no issues other then it was to small for room. I had also purchased a LG for one of the bedrooms. which was not a high end set. I was very impressed with the overall LG set that when returning the Samsung I was considering the LG OLED set. Comparing the Sony to the OLED they both had great picture and was a toss up between the two. The thing that led me to purchase the Sony was the built in forward facing speakers almost like a mini sound bar. The price was great for the set. the following week it was on special for $300 less then what I paid. Best Buy adjusted the price to match the sale. Now I fell I have one of the best sets at a great price.

Beautiful picture. One of the brightest tv and it works great in my bright room. Using antennas to pull in locals in HD and they look great. Built-in smart platform and apps work and look great. Should get the dolby version update soon.

We were replacing a 9 year old, 46" Samsung. When tuning it on it would slowly go from a dark picture to a good one. It was a fantastic TV and I planned on replacing it with another Samsung. At the same time I was ready to upgrade to 4K. After tons of research on the Best Buy site and online I narrowed it down to Samsung and Sony. The last Sony we had was a Trinitron. We loved it. The last Samsung was still hanging on our wall. In it's nine years with us it has been through six months of never being turned off through radiation treatments and six years later, six months of never being turned off chemo treatments. Samsung was at the top of my list as was 4K. What started steering me away from Samsung was the "one connect cable". My room is already wired (for my last Samsung) with all the components in a cabinet and an HDMI cable from there under the floor, through the wall to the TV. The "one connect cable" was opening a whole new can of worms. So that was out. And I wasn't settling for a lesser set to get the inputs on the back of the TV that I wanted. Onto Sony. After reading reviews this set came out highly rated. Everything I read pointed to the set I wanted. Soooooooooooooo, we made a purchase, sight unseen, online. We figured with Best Buy's return policy it was a safe bet. The free delivery included went without a glitch. Now for the TV......... Amazing, unbelievable clarity and color. And bright! (you can tone it down if you want to). We have south facing and east facing windows and this TV stands up to them, yet at night dims down to the surrounding light. It has HDMI and cable hook on back of the set which is where I want them. I'm as thrilled as the time we purchased our first color set, a Sony Trinitron!

At finally 1099 this TV is at its true value not 2500 like when it was first released ,It just goes to show how much mark up there is in this business since BET Buy is still making money.Either than the poor viewing angles even at 90 Deg its an awesome tv with built in Google assistant.Lets not forget you can install literally any android program including Kodi and watch free movies. Also this Tv has a more premium build than the 2018 models .The back hides the wires with a flush finish. It is a little heavy however. The speakers and sound are better than the previous models and the 2018 model

Had this TV now for 1 month and have to say it went beyond my expectations. The room has a lot of natural lighting and have no problems with the screen. It was definitely worth the extra dollars over the Sony-900E that I almost bought. Still very happy with my purchase. The sound in my opinion is perfect I have no need for my Bose sound bar I was using with my old set. The Geek Squad was great they set up and hung the TV on my existing wall mount, highly recommend them. Also just the other day I noticed Best Buy’s price for the 930E was 100.00 cheaper than what I paid. They were great they refunded the difference so the final cost was $1699.99

i like to say this has alot of great reviews and ratings. I was in the market searching for a bigger screen tv with 4k hdr capabilities and this one, 2017 x930e model did the job, I had previously bought the samsung m8000 series and wasn't quite please with the hdr levels it produces. it is a great tv, great operating system too, i prefer that over sony operating system anytime. But this android TV by Sony is purely awesome, maybe because it has alot of contents and more options to adjust the pictures settings depending on what you are viewing. Bought this when it came down to 1499.99 during the christmas season. and i did not regret one bit of buying it. I say the Tv is a bit heavy with or without the stand. i was skeptical about how the tv will be position onto the stand until i saw that it had a huge bolt screw to hold it into place. the tv does get warm after periods of use through out the day, would prefer to not put in the line of sight from sunlight or near heaters. I am happy i decided to go with Sony tv this year, and it feels not cheapyly made, although the amount of inputs or configuration in the back tv panel makes it seems sony still keeps it old school where as samsung is just connected to a power box where the hdmi and power cords all plug in to keep it nice and simple. Overall, this a great tv to have in your man cave, or living room. I would had went with 65 inch but i think 55 will do for now until i have a bigger living room. coming from a 32 inch to a 55 inch, i guess i will wait awhile for that to change.

Of course with so many outstanding TV's to choose from I am happy to say that I am very satisfied with this choice. The picture is amazing, even when the room is bright from sunlight. Other models weren't recommended in those conditions. Set up was easy, the menus are intuitive. I do have a sound bar so I cant speak to the speaker in the TV itself. I am expecting many years of quality viewing with this model.

Great picture on the 930E as one might expect when viewing movies produced in 4K but, definitely need to invest in a sound system as the TV speakers could be better but, then again my hearing isn't what it used to be. Navigating the soft touch remote is an improvement over the Sony Bravia I replaced. More expensive than the Samsungs TV's but keep in mind you get what you pay for and Sony makes a quality easy to use and better capabilities than any other maker on the market.

I am EXTREMELY happy with my new Sony XBR55X930E TV! Be sure to connect it to the Internet right away to receive the latest firmware/software updates for it, and yes, it does take 200 hours of use to "run-in" before it will reach its full potential (this is true for all new TVs and Electronics. Just run it over-night for a few weeks to accomplish this). I made the mistake of going with a Samsung for my previous TV (never again!) and was never fully happy with how it performed ("choppy" motion, not as natural color presentation, etc.) I have been a huge fan of Sony TVs for years, so I was so happy to get back to owning one for my Living Room. Streaming YouTube, Netflix, etc. is beautiful (remember your bandwidth dictates what you will get for video and audio clarity!) Most highly recommended. Not inexpensive, but you most definitely get what you pay for with this TV!

When quality and satisfaction with a product, overshadow the cost, that's called value. I got the TV for $1,799.00. Which to me at first seemed a bit steep, especially since I was originally looking in the 900-1,300. Price range and didn't want to exceed that higher limit. The Supervisor of Home Theater at Best Buy was knowledgeable about every TV in the showroom, and answered every question I had. I had been doing online research for about two weeks before going in. I went in for the 900e in a 49 inch variety. After going over all the specs and differences I ended up bumping myself about 500$ and getting the 930e 55". No regrets. Love the tv picture quality, features, style, set up, and ease of use.

Although this TV was on the expensive side it was well worth the money. Very good picture. The black on the screen is very good and dark. In my previous house one chair sat on an angle to the TV and the picture definitely is not as good viewing from an angle. Don't have that issue in my new house.

Ordered this TV after my last Sony finally started to die on me. Read a lot of the reviews and watched a few video reviews as well. Most everyone complained about the color fade and dulling of the picture as you moved away from center. There was also complaints about the LEDs overpowering on dark backgrounds. We have been using this TV for about three months now and I have yet to see those problems at all. I looked for them intentionally once I hooked it up and I cannot see it. I even had my wife watching for it after I showed her some of the video reviews and she does not see it on ours either. The picture on this TV is...amazing! I watched a couple episodes of Star Trek the original series and its like your are actually in studio with them as the film...and that's a 1960s show. It just gets better with new shows and movies. Sound is really good for just TV speakers. Crisp clear highs and defining lows. One of the main reasons I went for this TV was the many connections. Not many TVs come with RCA/Composite connections (we still play old school consoles like N64) and this one comes with a couple, did not want to tie up a HDMI with a crossover for the composite/RCA just to have to unplug it to use for regular HDMI items, plus on another good note it comes with several HDMI ports as well. So far the only draw back for me was the cable management and hiding features that were prominently advertised with this product. Unless you have super thin wires most of the hiding panels will not install, so all the cables a shown anyways, and the side ports where the RCA, Composite, two HDMI, and PC connections are found the panel there cannot be installed either if you use those ports. Now the only good thing with the cable management is that they are routed across the back and down through the base channels so they are not just hanging down the back. Overall this is a really good TV and if you are looking for an upgrade or just another one for a separate room, do yourself a favor and get this one.

I narrowed it down to this model as it has all the latest firmware and software built in, and it works flawlessly. It is bar none the best TV picture I’ve ever seen, plus it has very impressive sound. Actually the best I’ve heard from any TV I’ve owned. You can plug in a subwoofer and that’s all you need. I bought it for 1,699. and it went on sale shortly after for $200 less, BB took care of it with credit back to my card. Excellent TV and BB is a pleasure to deal with.

I have owned the 49 inch X900E since December 2017. I've been pleased with that TV since. When I moved to a new apartment, I needed a new TV for the living room. I figured I'd go cheaper and newer so what better brand than LG? So I tried the LG SK9000 which came out loud and bright. HOWEVER, the LG had an IPS screen and had a LOT of IPS glow and backlight bleed. Uneven, everywhere, and annoying! SO, I decided to go back to the Sony. I felt my destiny was to go back to Sony. I debated between the X900F and the X930E. Even though this tv is older, its starts totally measure up as a huge beast of a TV that can last. It was 100 dollars cheaper than the X900F which I (After some research) found didn't show much of an improvement to the X930E. It's great. Almost NO backlight bleed just like my 49 inch X900E. Visuals are crisp and bright as usual and blacks are way better than the LG. Only issues are: it's SUPER HEAVY. I struggled to set this TV up alone. The LG was MUCH lighter to carry and set up. Also the back of the TV has some scattered multiple covers which I don't get why are there. They get in the way and every time the wires have to be reconfigured for any reason, we have to keep opening and closing it. Also the speakers are substantially weaker than the LG TV. It's supposed to have 50w VS the LG's 40w, yet the 40w LG TV is noticeably louder. Maybe it's cuz this TV doesn't support Dolby Atmos yet which I don't really care about much. Just gotta turn up the volume a little more than if it was on the LG TV. Lastly, the user interface is so old and out of date. Wish Sony came up with a better and more user-friendly user interface when on the home screen. Anyway, I still stick to this TV and look forward to using it for a long time.

Sony always delivers consistently good products. My room is filled with a lot of ambient light. I originally purchased the LG OLED and had to return it, as we were unable to see much other than a reflection of the room in the screen, during certain times of the day . Do not have that problem at all with this Sony. Colors are vivid , clarity is great, tv is fun to work with ( voice control with remote ) etc. very happy with our choice.
