I purchased a different radio for my car but the other radio didn't have any way to reduce the glare during the day. Why pay the amounts of money charged for a car radio with a DVD player, if the passengers can't enjoy a movie on the move? The radio dealer switched the other radio out for this one. I was quite please because the picture is crisp and clear as others have already mentioned. The sound is clear no static or interference when I use the Bluetooth for phone calls. I no longer have to hear my friends and family complain that I sound muffled or far away. The screen is just the right size. And don't even talk about the sounds this radio puts out with my amplifier and sub box.. you won't be disappointed, if you purchase this radio!

Admittedly, I don't use all the features that this unit offers, so I'm not reviewing all those features. The main reason I switched out my factory unit in my 2009 car was to have a large screen for use with a backup camera that I was having installed. Since I was shelling out for a new stereo, I tried to get the most bang for my buck. This one seems to deliver pretty well for the price. The sound is nice and clean with plenty of power to fill my sub-compact hatchback that has a lot of headroom in it. I'm powering speakers in all four doors. For the most part I'm using a flashdrive filled with MP3 and flac files to play music. I was curious about what it would do with a DVD, and it blocks viewing while driving. You have to have the parking brake engaged in order to see the screen. Conceivably, I could start a music DVD and select my starting point on the menu before taking my car out of park, but that seems like a ridiculous compromise so I'm just sticking to music CDs and stuff on the flash drive. Flac files are only playable from the flash drive, and not from a CD or DVD. The equalizer is a nice feature to have after living for years with only bass and treble controls. The menu for the flash drive is easy to navigate to select folders or songs within those folders. (I haven't experimented yet to see if additional levels of subfolders will read.).While I have the unit set up for bluetooth to answer my phone, I just don't have a desire to talk on the phone while in the car, so if it rings I just hit the disconnect button and let them leave me a voicemail, but the feature does work. So to sum it up--plenty of power, undistorted sound, good tone controls, input options--this is a winner for playing music in the car. Cons: Glare on the screen. I taped a piece of black foam at an angle to shade the screen so I can see it well, both for selecting music and especially for the backup camera. It might not look real spiffy, but it works. Not much point in having a screen you can't see in sunlight, and this certainly isn't the only deck that suffers from this problem.

Does not play well off of Aux hook up. Very inconsistent. Will play once and then not the next. Skips lots of songs. Long delays between songs. Not what I expected from Sony.

Hi Rick, We do apologize for the inconvenience. You may need to check if the auxiliary connecting cable is securely connected to the stereo and device. -Jerome sony_US
