Considered taking the leap to 4K before deciding on this model. Not at all disappointed that we didn't. The picture quality in HD mode is amazing - - sharp, brilliant color, natural tones. 3D capabilities exceed our expectations. Only wish there were more 3D content available. Also purchased Sony sound bar and subwoofer that are a great complement. Placed bluetooth subwoofer in back of room for awesome surround sound. The surprisingly low 120 Hz refresh rate does, however, show up in some action scenes. Faster refresh rate would be preferable. TV "Smart" operating system is similar to a computer but, unfortunately, not a very good one. It's slow, crude, and crashes. Feels 90's vintage. Come on, Sony, you need to step up this part of your game. Bought a USB Web cam for Skype but discovered the hard way it's not compatible. This set will only accept HDMI cameras of which there are very few.

I purchased the Sony 65 in 3d tv and could not be happier the picture quality is excellent and the 3d looks better than in the theater this tv is in my living room and even with the windows in the room the brightness and colors are great the blacks are black and the whites are white not shades of grey as I have seen on other TV's this size.

Excellent picture quality, and straight-forward setup. Had planned to buy the 55" version but after prepping the wall where this screen is hanging, realized that the 65" model was better. Have watched several Blu-rays on it and am very happy with the image, contrast, black levels, speed and overall clarity of the Sony.

This is Sony's top of the line 65" from 2013. Bought this April 2014 when the new models start to come out. Marked down so it was a no brainer. Great performance, fast processors means nice and smooth active 3D. Software is fast, Netflix, Youtube, etc and wifi network connection setup is a breeze.

If your looking for great picture quality look no further. The Sony KDL65W850A does all things well & the detail when watching HD content is just amazing. I looked at several other competitors when searching for my HDTV and even returned 2 Samsung TV's. I first tried the F8000 series Samsung which was an open box buy. I wasn't too concerned with all the smart features it had (camera, voice control, etc.). The PQ of the F8000 was really good but when i went to wall mount the TV i noticed it was missing an adapter. I went back to BB (two actually) and neither had the part I needed. While I was there the BB sales rep told me about this Sony and I took a gamble and exchanged the F8000 for this set. I must say i'm glad I did! Watching a Blu-Ray is just breath taking. The main differences between this set and the F8000 was in the small details. I can't describe how great the colors looks so natural and life like. If you want picture quality, it Sony set will deliver! (P.S. make sure you use WhiteSands picture settings for the best output).

At first, we were skeptical of getting the 65 inch for the room that it's in and we were debating between the 60 inch and the 65 inch of this model. We are so happy that we went with the 65 inch because it does fit the room. We are partial to Sony and are not disappointed with this TV. It has variable PAP and this is an option that we use regularly. The picture quality is excellent. We haven't watched anything in 3D yet.

Best TV I have owned so far. Puts the picture and smart technology of the old Samsung 46" LED Smart TV to shame. So easy to connect to wireless network with out the need of an ethernet. Smart TV is so quick. So easy to turn 3D on and you can use all the side by side or top and bottom versions of 3D there is. Amazing Tv...

Purchased this after returning a 70le650eu" sharp TV that had a horrible "torching" effect at the bottom of the screen when displaying lighter colors. Night and day difference in picture quality on this set compared to the sharp(was not a quattron which I know is supposed be be better and more comparable to this set)without touching a dial in the picture adjustments. I love the little nfc remote that comes with it. TV itself is pretty to look at. It behaves better with my Onkyo receiver and ps3 then any other TV I have had. Zero complaints about picture, smart features (don't care about these), 3d(works good but will almost never use it), sound(use a reciever). Gaming looks amazing on this thing too. Glad I got a 13 model year because the 14's new stand would not work in my set up.

After researching big screen smart TVs I settled on this Sony 65". The guy at Best Buy was great. He reinforced many of the features I had learned about prior to my purchase. It's easy to use even for a low tech guy like me. The picture is amazing. We mounted it on the wall of our family room. It's very bright during the day and very dark at night. Either time, the picture is incredible. My decision came down to this Sony vs the Samsung. The salesman at Best Buy encouraged me to go with Sony even though it was a few $ cheaper. When the Geek Squad guy came to deliver and install, the first thing he said was "I'm glad you didn't get the Samsung!" All in all, the purchase was a great experience and I highly recommend this TV to anyone.

Sony is making a great TV once again. This is much better than the Samsung sets which in my opinion show innacurate colors. I spent a lot of time viewing other tv sets and doing research before deciding on this tv. There are lot picture adjusments which can be made for personalized settings and plenty of inputs for hooking up various devices. I am very happy with my purchase.

The TV is every thing I read about. Great picture,sound and of high quality. Just like every SONY I have owned. Sony has always been a reliable product and I am happy I purchased this TV

I mostly buy Sony TVs because they just work so good. I have tried the other top brands and always go back to Sony. This set has the Triluminos display which is Sony's most advanced screen technology. with a color gamut that is 50 percent larger than that of a conventional LCD panel.

Decided to go with this over comparable Vizio and Samsung based on reviews and personal research, even though this was pricier. Have always been a fan of Sony, and this doesn't disappoint. The PQ is excellent. Could care less about the 3D, personally think it's a dying gimmick. It definitely takes at least 2 people to mount it on it's stand. The stand has 2 stems that go into the base of the TV and you have to line it up perfectly. Since there was only 2 of us, we had to set the TV on a couch, attach the base first, then set it up on a tv stand. It's heavier than it looks. I would highly recommend this tv if you have the coin.

We bought this TV a month ago now and this is a great product. The image quality is excellent and the system is easy to navigate. Definitely recommend this product!
