After nine years of viewing a Panasonic plasma 50-inch beauty, I decided it was time to upgrade. I did my homework; read all the "professional" reviews I could find on current and soon-coming technology; read a zillion personal comments on OLED, LED, side and back lighting, etc. I must have spent 3-4 months on this research. After all of that, I chose the Sony XBR65X950B. While it is not quite plasma quality, this television is without question an ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE television. I know I said it above, but it bears repeating: "In a word . . . WOW! So, don't just sit there endlessly researching this thing; just go buy one.

After 2 years of watching adds and reading reviews I went for it. Glad I did...spend the $ and go for it. You will not be disappointed. Apps are sometimes a bit slow but that could be the App, the network, or the TV. I bought this to use as a TV and I have no regrets!

This is by far, the best TV I've ever seen. To be fair, we actually purchased the Samsung 78" curved model, for the same price, but returned it. The Samsung, although big, had light bleed through and the software did not do a good job upscaling. The Sony upscaling technology is light years ahead of other brand. Pay very close attention to upscaling as there if very limited 4k content out now, and this will be the case for years to come. Yes, we went from a 78" TV to a 65" for the same price, I we couldn't be happier. The Sony quality simply is much better. Size isn't everything. The software in the Sony is also much better than competitors, and this not only includes the upscaling, but also the very useful applications, such as YouTube. Is the TV expensive? Sure, but you get what you pay for. If you can afford it, the picture quality won't let you down.

I Looked long and HARD for the right TV considering the new 4K drop! I looked EVERYWHERE and when I came across this model I knew this was "The 1" This TV Is SOLID and Future proof! All Array, 4K, 3D, Smart, LED and BEAUTIFUL!!! Sony has done it yet again! If u want the BEST as of right now THIS Sony model is the best 4 will & can buy! a little on the pricey side but if u want the best, the best COSTS! With the aid & assist of Best Buys helpful sale men, and after reading multiple reviews I went ahead and made my investment with Best Buy! I'm extremely happy and the picture is AMAZING! If u want the best, then this TV is for U!

I bought the 900C first & had the light bleeding problem due to the edge lighting. Went back to Best Buy with my problem & they offered to bring out a new one. Decided to move up to the 950B, it is back lighted & even though the design is a year older it is still has the best picture of all the sony TV's. The price has come way down on this set. The picture is crisp & clear, the blacks are as close to the old plasma tv's as you can get. Great TV!

We just purchased this Sony XBR65X950B 65" 4k TV and we are VERY PLEASED with it. We initially wanted the VIZIO P65-C1 after all the reviews I had read but after purchasing a defective VIZIO and the LACK OF QUALITY Customer Support we decided to go with this Sony instead. We haven't even scratched the surface with all the features of this TV but I can tell you that what we have seen is AMAZING! My only complaint would be I got Passive 3D glassed with this TV and I was suppose to have gotten Active 3D glasses other than that minor complaint we are very happy with our purchase.

I was looking for a 65 inch tv with 4k and 3d . this sony tv is fantastic the picture is amazing . the 3d is awesome and the 4K is unbelievable . I love the sony brand and am very pleased with this purchase. also the price was right . after i bought it best buy lowered the price by 500 dollars so i took in my receipt . and they refunded the $500. THANK YOU BEST BUY.

This TV XBR65X950B has a beautiful picture, easy access to preferences & apps. TV Sideview app should have more ways to adjust order of channels & how they appear on the TV. Speaker sound is great without a sound bar. However, I can't understand the high pricing of the Media Player @ $799 for 1TB? User guide, FAQ's need to be vastly improved upon. Would buy this TV again.

THE INCREASED REALISM OF THE PICTURE REALLY BRINGS WHAT YOU'RE WATCHING TO LIFE AND DEFINATELY GIVES YOU FEEL YOU ARE "THERE". MY ONLY COMPLAINT IS THE REMOTE. NO MORE PUSH BOTTONS, BUT TOUCH SCREEN THAT IS NOT CONSISTANTLY SENSITIVE MEANS HAVE TO OFTEN REPEAT PUNCHING IN THE CHANNEL NUMBERS YOU WANT TO CHANGE TO WHICH CAN BE LITTLE FRUSTRATING..........

The new 4K this tv puts out is unbelievable! The picture quality can not be beat. In watching the football games you literally could see the gnats flying around. We felt like we were right on the field. It is a spendy tv but you get what you pay for with this Sony. Would highly recommend!

Very impressed by the picture and sound of this television. It looked great in the Magnolia showroom, but looked even better at my place! The staff from the sales people to the installers were extremely knowledgeable and made this a worry-free purchase!

This is a great TV! The picture is incredible. It is pricey but it is worth every penny.

Amazing picture. I have always loved Sony TVs for their amazing picture and color correctness. The 4K detail is striking. It feels like you were there on the set while they were filming! It's a little pricey at $3000, but considering only a couple years ago, this top of the line Sony XBR had a retail list price of $8000, this is a bargain.

It took me three TVs to get one that worked flawlessly. First had an intermittent black line flash across the screen and the second was freight damaged. Very happy with the third and it's a keeper! I am an Electronics Engineer, worked for several decades with graphic displays and did extensive research to find the best 65" UHD TV and am very impressed. Black levels are incredible as well as color is very true and up scaling fantastic. Watching Avatar in 3D, was better than the theater, and like the PIP feature also. Price was high but worth the picture. Good luck in your search as and if considering an OLED TV do your research as they are not perfect yet and I have observed a short temporary persistent (thin white on black showing up as yellow in trailing frames), they are susceptible to burn in (observed at another leading retailer), and the video processing not at the par of this X950B.

I really like my 4K XBR 950. It's everything! Picture Sound is better than average, even though i mostly use our surround sound. More apps than you can Believe! Discover mode, social view ect... Even though 4k content isn't readily available everywhere, it still looks great. $149 Sony Bluray 4K Upscale Great Addition and Super Veiw! Price could be a huge set back. I would still recommend this product.

This is a fantastic tv, will enjoy for many years. Clarity, color, size are excellent features. Best Buy, Magnolia and Geek Squad offer wonderful service making a huge difference in shopping for big ticket item.

Easy on screen directions for setup excellent color magnificent picture

I have own quite a few Sony tv's and this one is by far the best i've ever owned to date. The amazing picture continues to surprise me with it's rich blacks and skin so remarkably clear you can see the open pores on the actors/actresses. The detail in the picture is just brilliant and thats just from streaming on youtube, amazon video and netflix and hulu. I haven't even mentioned what happens when you watch actual 4K content whether it's from the 4K blu ray movies and or streaming 4K content, just simply astounding!! The TV was Sony's 2014 flagship tv and it still holds up today in July 2016. My only small complaint is the thickness and weight of the tv but I know that is because of the full array technology in the tv. Overall I highly recommend this television especially if you don't have the $3,000 to $6,000 for the 2016 models. Kudos to you Sony, You've hit several home runs with this tv. Great picture, quality build, easy to use. Only complaint is boot up time.

The fully back lit picture is great. No shadows. Motion is perfect. Worth the money to get the 950 series
