Dead pixels and warranty will not cover! BEWARE!

My Sony a9g oled developed a cluster of approximately 40 dead pixels just a couple months after purchase. Geek squad warranty will not honor a warranty exchange due to dead pixels even though their terms of services say they cover it. They say will forward you to Sony and Sony will deny you. Too expensive a product to have this poor quality control and the manufacturer or the retailer refuse to stand by the product. Over $3500 down the drain. Huge mistake!

The controller does not work on other devices unless they are SONY. For movies and videos, the default language is Spanish and it Has to be reset every time. Same for closed captions. The manual has very limited information.

    Poor Audio managment

Internal speakers are shutoff when headphones (wired or Bluetooth) are connected you can not have both. This causes a problem if a hearing impaired individual is using amplified headphones the rest of the room will not be able to hear audio. Bluetooth only allows one device to be connected at a time. The 3.5mm Composite connector uses LVGR wiring (Left, Video, Ground, Right). HDMI sync issues the TV needs to be turned on and input selected before the HDMI device is turned on doing it in the wrong order may result in video and audio static and loud popping noises.

This TV is for Dark rooms only, do your research befor you purchase, Great picture for 4K movies with some adjustment even though it's said to be calibrated. I returned this after 1 week, not worth the money.

Love the tv and would recommend it. Was not 100% pleased with the Geek Squad installation. Had to have them come back 2x the same day to either complete a setup or correct the setup. After the 2nd time, tv works great with all the peripherals.

Recently purchased Sony 65" Master Class TV & Home Theater Sony Sound Bar/Speakers. TV malfunctioning after approx. 30 days; sound system isn't working. Geek squad tech out to install a 2nd sound bar in another room did great job with install, but was not allotted time to troubleshoot TV/Soundbar issue. Went to store to return a wall outlet we were told we'd need, but was not necessary. Inquired if tech scheduled for troubleshoot would bring new sound bar to avoid additional service calls if it is the only issue. We were told they can't take out of inventory. This is the 4th TV we've purchased for our new home in less than 2 years. Disappointed in this recent experience.

We purchased a 65" Sony TV and a Sonos speaker. The speaker could not be demonstrated in the store but we bought it on the strong recommendation of the sales person. It was a big disappointment, poor sound quality, so we returned it. We had scheduled the delivery of the TV for 3 1/2 weeks following our purchase. A very long story short, the TV was never available and the BB service line tried to get us to buy something else. This took days of back and forth, many phone calls, with no one able to tell us what was going on. We cancelled the sale of the TV, too. Bad all around experience. Won't go back to BB.

This tv sucks for what I paid, the sound will stop working on either a single app including default apps, or there won't be any sound anywhere on the tv. I do not have any sound system with it just the tv and nothing plugged into it so its not a user error. The only way I have been able to fix this issue is by doing a factory rest, then I I have sign into everything and re-download everything, I could not be more mad.

This it was so disappointed, first of all, I pay almost 4K for this TV along with the wall stalls and the sound bars, after 5 months one vertical green line appeared on the screen, very annoying and disappointed, luckily I was able to reached the SONY Corp and since it’s still was on brand guaranty I was able to get brand new! But can you imaging if this had happened after that? I might be lost all my money on that pretty expensive TV and Nd quite honestly in a very trust tv brand.

    pro and con

SONY: PRO: 1. Picture – You can go OLED or LED with Sony and still get one of the best pictures for TV or movies. Sony produces a good bit of the movies that release so it’s no surprise they understand how to make a product that can view them. 2. Design – a bit iffy with their acoustic panels (produce sound from the screen itself), but glad to see they are experimenting. Better to go with a soundbar for larger rooms though. CON: 1. Gaming – Fast gaming- Can’t handle 4k 120 hz gaming like LG’s OLED 2. Burn In – Only on OLED panels. Any paused screen, menu, or gaming HUD that stays on the screen too long will leave traces of Burn In which is the biggest con of this TV. 3. Remote is outdated- Lots of buttons which older people will prefer. Recommend using Apple touch remote instead. 4. Design – Sony is lacking in great cord management and doesn’t mount as flush as LG or Samsung with their custom mounts. SAMSUNG: PRO: 1. Minimal Bezel - Great viewing experience 2. Metallic Remote – Premium feel that has voice and minimalist design that is only outclassed by Apples touch remote. Would like to see LG’s point cursor tech though. *Only offered on select models : ( 3. One Connect Box - A huge saver in keeping install simple and cords hidden. Better than anything LG or Sony offers in terms of cord management. *Only offered on select models : ( 4. 8k- Beating LG and Sony to make 8k available in lower cost models. CON: Samsung is behind in supporting formats that film industries use. Also, until MicroLED tech takes off Samsung offers nothing to beat the picture contrast offered by OLED panels. 1. Ads Everywhere- Pay for a premium Tv just to get advertised to by Samsung. Yeah no thanks 2. Lacking Dolby vision – Dolby Vision covers a broad section of a films and allows HDR. On a Samsung TV you will not get full HDR on many video games and movies. This is huge and a major deal breaker for those looking to get optimal experience. 3. LED Panel – Another deal breaker for those wanting the best. You pay the same price as an OLED but are not getting the same true black levels, contrast, and viewing angles as a superior OLED panel. Till Samsung adds OLED tech or incorporates MicroLED cheaply there is no competition with competitor OLED panels. 4. Fast gaming- Can’t handle 4k 120 hz gaming like LG’s OLED LG PRO: 1. Gaming capable - 4k at 120hz with HDMI 2.1 support, and G-SYNC/FreeSync support. Can’t beat this TV in terms of gaming if it wasn’t for Burn In (see cons) 2. Black levels/viewing angles – uses OLED panel for great picture and because it can turn off pixels individually the black levels in dark scenes give great contrast. CON: 1. Burn In – Any paused screen, menu, or gaming HUD that stays on the screen too long will leave traces of Burn In which is the biggest con of this TV. 2. Remote is outdated- Lots of buttons which older people will prefer. Great point and cursor feature. Recommend using Apple touch remote instead. Summary: For the movie/tv watcher only… buy Sony OLED, for a TV that will look great on your wall on or off…. or worried about burn in buy Samsung for the gamer or the best TV all around buy LG CX OLED, beware of burn-in with video games Source: 1. www.Rtings.com 2. My experience. I work in the Home Theatre industry and sell all three.

Great image but like others the backend of this TV is absolute garbage. Constant network connection issues wired and wireless, certain apps won't work like Disney and I constantly have to factory reset the TV... So disappointing considering the price and its the Bravia line

Less than two years and it won’t turn on. $3700 for a TV that you would think would last at least 5 years. Not from Sony. This is my second Sony OLED that died just after the warranty expired. I won’t make the Sony mistake again.
