We have had our TV about 30 days, and we have not had a good picture on it. My husband tried to set it to our liking, changing the color, contrast, etc. (it has some pretty advanced settings). Still I kept talking to him about sending it back as our old TV in comparison had a much better picture. We spent a lot of money on this TV compared to others. Then this past weekend he went online and asked what the best advanced settings were and it pulled up exactly how to set this TV to the best quality. Voila! He called me in to see it and it is by far, the best picture we have ever seen on a TV! The settings that Geek squad put on the TV were almost factory settings and believe me, you don't want those. I am not saying anything about Geek squad because they too are wonderful, but that TV is capable of producing the most beautiful picture i it is just set properly! We watched Mandalorian and the picture on that show was so explicit and detailed. We never knew his armor had gold in it. It had always been just gray. All the details in people's faces are so clear and colors are so vivid. We have watched other shows as well, and I am so glad he kept telling me to hang in there, although he would have taken it back. Everyone kept saying this was a great TV, but we couldn't see it. NOW we see it perfectly! Take the time to make sure your TV is set properly and you will absolutely love this one. Best one out there! Thank you James for recommending this one! Putting a picture here doesn't do this TV justice. See it for yourself. Go to Best Buy and compare it. It is bit pricey, but well worth the money! Won’t add anything that hasn’t than what’s already been said in positive reviews about this TV. We enjoyed it immensely, but our unit ended up having a defective panel. A one-pixel wide vertical line appeared on the right side of the screen, with a dead pixel in it. Fortunately had Geek Squad protection, and our scenario qualified for a replacement TV. Returned for full price and will upgrade for a 77” Sony Bravia OLED. Simply bad luck of the draw. Overall, this is a fantastic TV.

Best OLED period. If you want great motion handling an color accuracy, spend the money and get this TV. Coupled with the Sony slim wall mount and Z9f sound bar with rear speakers, it’s a truly theatrical/magical experience. As they say, “you get what you pay for”. This TV is no exception. I also use an Apple TV 4K to run everything. Native OS works great, but I prefer the Apple TV. Personal preference at the end of the day...

I love this SONY Bravia 65" A9G TV I think this is the best picture that I have ever seen in this Price range, I was Blown away when I herd that the sound comes out of the front viewing screen. and because it has Google ,I can do more things with it. I will get the next SONY in 8K when a lot more programs use 8K, for now You can view all in 4K.

I like the TV quality. I had bought a Samsung in 2018 and that had a really bright picture but it was so bright it hurt my friends eyes and mine even during the day time when I had the room was bright. This A9G exemplifies excellence in every sense of the word. I looked at the 2020 model TV’s and found out at CES that the changes coming was not worth the $1,300 off the MSRP I saved purchasing the 2019 model. Now the key is to buy this outstanding OLED top choice TV at a great price. Only Best Buy has the best deals. Just keep an eye out for sales and super sales.

The picture on this television is absolutely beautiful and the native speakers are amazing. The picture really shows off on scenes with a diversity of color and detail-rich textures. The tv speakers shocked me during a booming scene.

Finicky Motherboard. Failed at 4 years

The motherboard went bad just before the 4-year mark. The TV was always on a battery backup. It was the most expensive TV we have ever purchased that failed the soonest. If you buy one of these, get a warranty and pray for the best.

    Defective TV

I originally bought a SONY A9F from Best Buy for $5000 in 9/2018. First TV stopped working shortly after purchase. Light on bottom of TV would blink 4 times whenever any input was attached to it. SONY replaced it under warranty. New TV worked for a while and then quit shutting off with light on bottom of TV blinking four times. Called SONY and they told me my peripherals were causing the problems and it was my problem. Now HDMI 1 doesn't work at all, TV shuts down when Apple TV is connected to it and I have a black line across the bottom of the TV. I have tried to work with SONY and their only solution is to sell me an A9G for $2900. Presently in my home I have an XBR-55X900F, XBR-49X900F, XBR-49X900E, XBR46HX929, XBR55HX929, and a KDL 55HX800. For my loyalty SONY has left me with a $5000 piece of junk. They have lost a lifetime customer forever.

    almost, but not quite

The stand for the A9G OLED tv puts the TV so low that any soundbar you use will block the lower part of the TV. And wall mounting is NOT an option here. Perhaps Sony’s TV design teams should coordinate with their soundbar design teams so their products will actually work together. For this reason we had to reconsider this tv and settle for a different brand.

If you are going to buy this make sure you fill out the warranty, or get the insurance. I did neither and was out of the return time frame. within a month the tv will suddenly turn off. While you are watching a movie or playing a video game. It is a very annoying problem, geek squad has been worthless help, and Sony tech support will not answer their phone. IF I were you, I would not buy a Sony tv from Best Buy, for how much these things are, they shouldnt be just turning off like this, and there should be somewhere that someone could help. but its been non existent.

Multiple sound failures requires frequent resets.

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Disappointed to have to write this review. After 13 months of ownership, and after automatic Sony software updates, the sound will not perform about 10% of the time that the unit is turned on. No sound on speakers and no sound via optic output. The only way to get the TV to resume normal operations is to perform a reset (hold the power button on the remote for 5 seconds or more). These multiple failures is quite a blow to what I thought was a best in class TV. I worry now about having to make a claim against the warranty for something that is easy to fix (perform factory reset) but is obviously a "bug" in the software.
