This Sunday it just stopped working and flashed a red light 4 times. Speaking with Sony they told me it needed service and they would send me a brand new replacement. I still don't know what went wrong with it or why and Sony has been less than helpful. Is the replacement going to go out again for no reason in two months?

Sony UHD TV with Brilliant Color and Clarity

Owned for 1 year when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sony put out an update to enable Dolby Vision, and you are unable to turn off the option of Dolby Vision through the TV. So if you use any apps or want to use match frame rate and dynamic range with AppleTV focus Dolby Vision. The implementation of it makes the picture incredibly dark even in a pitch black room. I have made all the recommended adjustments and get the same results. The only way I can watch that content is with a player that does not use Dolby Vision like a Roku Ultra. This is not ideal as I would prefer to use AppleTV but forcing to other outputs manually is a pain. I have reached out to Best Buy to have an exchange or buy back so I could purchase a different brand they have refused since I purchased it a year ago. I cannot recommend Sony products anymore due to my experience.

Dolby Vision picture quality is terribly dark.

Now any Dolby vision content from Netflix or Prime Video is far too dark with no way to fix. Day scenes look like night scenes and night scenes are nearly unwatchable. Oddly, the content worked prior. Sony says there is no fix. Hindsight 2020, save some money and get a non Sony product. Google this tv and Dolby Vision. You will see plenty of issues. This TV works well otherwise.
