Great picture but not for the price.

I purchased this TV fully expecting it to blow my socks off when I got it home and set up. However it did all but that. The picture along with its vibrant colors made 4k HDR content really shine. The local dimming was a nice feature but doesn't do much in my opinion and the black uniformity overall was okay but it could certainly be better. The TV also seemed very dark in certain scenes and I could not figure out what was causing it. An area that the TV really shined in was its capability of eliminating motion blur. I could not detect any whatsoever in all the fast pace scenes I played on this TV. Performance overall was good but with its hefty price tag I expected a bit more out of this TV. If you have the funds or just have to have the Sony name brand then you certainly will not go wrong with this TV; but for me I just wanted a nice TV with a reasonable price tag attached.

Best Sony LED 4K TV

I purchased the 65" variant of the X900F. I also paired the Sony with Bose soundbar 500 and bass module 500. The picture quality is fantastic. The Bose audio system drastically improves the audio. The built in speakers are not good. I recommend getting an audio system with the TV. The X900F is great for sports, movies (4K/FHD), 4K/FHD gaming (OneX/PS4 Pro), and regular programming. I've not had issues with the TV. I'm satisfied with my purchase.

Great 65 inch TV for the price...

Based on the numerous online reviews available, the Sony 900F was the best 65 inch TV for the money. Seemed any TV that was ranked above it was more expensive. I have had both Samsung and Sony TVs before and both brands are excellent. Most comes down to each individual's preference, but for the money the Sony looked to be the best buy.
It has not disappointed with a stunning picture for sports, movies, and even the news :)

Great picture quality and no motion blur!

Love the picture quality of this TV. Compared to other top rated brands Sony if the only one with a true fluid motion that does not blur when there if action on the screen. Would highly recommend to anyone who uses their tv for video games, sports, or movies. Only con is the sound quality but that's not what TV's are made for anymore.

I purchased a Samsung NU8000 and had some serious problems - but it was a great price during the black Friday sales - under $1000. Anyway exchanged for this Sony and the colors are fantastic, the blacks are deep, and football is wonderful. If you are looking at the $1000 price range and can afford the jump, this Sony if well worth it.

After doing a ton of research I finally broke down and purchased the Sony X900 65". From the time I unpacked, installed, set up including my existing home theater system was slightly over an hour. The picture is beyond fabulous, I could not have been more pleased and satisfied choosing this Sony model. Read no more reviews, you won't be disappointed.

Beautiful Picture, Remote Control lag issues
Posted .

I love the picture, it's beautiful. The remote control has extreme lag issues. I often have to hold the power button down and restart the tv to clear the lag issue. I have to wait about 5 to 10 seconds to see if I have turned up the volume or changed the channel. It gets frustrating thinking I'm on one channel since Ive hit the button a few times and it will go to all the channels very slowly. It's like a child pushed every button on the elevator and you have to stop at every floor. I've changed the batteries several times and even called Sony for help. The tech on the phone said that Im just out of the warranty period by a month and offered no solutions. From that experience alone, I will be buying a Samsung now. This is a huge disappointment, especially when I spent over $1000 and have to deal with this. I have been very loyal to this brand for over 20 years, but it's time to see what others have to offer. Also, I've considered giving this tv to my elderly parents, but the remote lag would definitely get very confusing to them at their age. Over all, very disappointed Sony.

I have the Samsung ks8000 and decided to take advantage of the discounted X900F. I can't say enough. The picture quality is amazing. Motion handling is superb. Such a step up in every way when it comes to PQ. Android UI is not so great but still useable. Highly recommend this tv for someone that watches TV in a bright lit area or at night.

I purchased in Aug 2018. It is now Feb 2024. Had it wrapped up and boxed in storage from Apr 2023 - Feb 2024. Out of storage today and it will not come on. So I had use of TV for 4 good years. I don’t think that’s a good life span. While it was working it was a good tv.

Replaced my 7-year old Samsung 65" as it was constantly turning itself off and on and would require expensive repair. Spent a few days reviewing ALL replacement 65" TV's including OLED and decided on this incredible Sony. Could not tell the difference between the 4K picture on this TV vs the OLED.

Great picture, but some defective pixels

I have returned 4 of these TVs to Best Buy due to dead or stuck pixels. The image quality is superb. Full array local dimming is best in class from what I've seen. But for the premium price that Sony commands, the panels should not have any defects or blemishes. One of the four panels only had one single stuck pixel (blue). However, the worst one had a total of 7 defective pixels. Unacceptable for this price point. Best Buy was fair to me in letting me exchange the TVs, but I don't know if I'll ever go back to Sony after this debacle. If this is the new normal, then Sony needs to lower their prices to reflect the drop in quality.

I Purchased a 65 inch Sony X900f and the picture looked amazing right out of the box with no calibration needed. I had just purchased a LG sk 9000 but I was not happy with the picture quality so I returned and I'm glad I did. Very happy with my Sony.

Short of picking an OLED or QLED tv. It is well worth the additional money. Absolutely love the picture. I debated and went back and forth between this tv and the 8000 series Samsung for weeks. Do not regret this purchase at all

The 900 F is amazing at 65”. Streaming is no problem but the privileging of Netflix on the remote is silly.
My big shout out is to Sony support. I had difficulty getting the home theater set up right with a Sony STR DN1080 receiver. I’m 60 and this isn’t like setting up the old dorm stereo. I couldn’t get the streaming to play on home theater speakers like I could the DirecTV. Well, the support chat was fantastic, courteous and professional. I got everything done right in 30 minutes.
Love this TV.

After convincing by Best Buy sales folks, I turned in my Sony 750 for the 900. First and more minor, the legs it sits on makes the top of the TV sag backwards precluding a straight right angle viewing, which is annoying. Had geek squad out twice, to no avail.
Second and more major, the Android operating system sucks! Netflix and all apps either don't load due to endless buffering, or when loaded, picture is horrific! Turn it to regular tv and picture is fabulous. Use amazon firestick to load apps and watch and picture is amazing! Try to load and watch the same apps directly through the TV, and sucks! Even further, when watching apps through firestick, internet speed test-fantastic and fast. When watching apps through TV, internet wifi almost completely gone!
Been on the phone 4 times now with Sony under the warranty and still no resolution of issues. Paid extra for this too-should have stayed with low end 750 or LG/Samsung.

Sony’s TVs are poor quality, broken after two year

I’ve owned my Sony xbr65x900c for around two years after paying around $2000 for it and I unplugged it the other day and plugged it back in and now it won’t work. After plugging it back in it starts up for a minute but won’t function with any buttons then shuts off and goes into boot loop clicking on and off repeatedly. I was advised by Sony support to try a hard restart which didn’t do anything then to download the latest update to a usb drive and plug it in which I did and the tv said it already has the latest version downloaded. Then they pretty much told me to hire a tv servicer to come and repair whatever the issue is and that I’d have to cover all costs because my warranty was up after one year which according to other posts having similar issues is around $1000. This seems kind of pointless for a tv that will probably need another $1000 in around two more years. I have a Sharp tv that has been working for longer for a fraction of the cost.
